Arteta Reinvents The Wheel with 442. Accident or Design?

Hello everyone.

What a difference a day makes, eh?

Last night saw us playing good entertaining football for the first time in Donkey’s years. It was fantastic.

Great performances from Arsenal lads all over the pitch.

In todays Youtube we muse on why it was so good, why we don’t play like tis more often and did Mikel come up with 442 by accident or design. Then will it work as well if we use it going forward.

Pedantic George.

  1. A win is very welcome. Maybe Arteta has begun to see the light.

I did not see the game so cannot comment on it.

If Ramsdale made a record number of saves yesterday, 8, does mean that our defence allowed Leicester to have 8 chances that needed saving?

  2. jjgsol it is a worry that twice in a week our keeper got man of the match, yesterday the defense played well, the problem was that once we got two up we sat in our own half most of the time, and never looked like scoring a third. God knows what would have happened if Ramsdale had not pulled off that worldie just before half time.

  3. In truth, I can understand the logic of sitting back when you are 2 up away from home.

However, when sitting back after 20 minutes is the game plan each time, one wonders how long before the luck runs out.

Emery had 22 games where his team scraped through to win and draw without really deserving to do either and bring everyone to tears. When that run came to an end the truth unfolded.

Think Brighton, Crystal Palace, Burnley etc.

Will Arteta’s luck last that long?
