Good morning all.

Former PM Gordon Brown was on Football Focus this morning and he basically ruled out the 50+1 model for the UK game, he backed some of the points I made yesterday on that model, you just can not force billionaire owners to sell their shares, to give up control, to in fact make their shares worthless or at the very least massively devalued. It would even affect the stock market in a big way.
Plus that model has not been a success in Germany, 17 of 23 titles to one team.
I actually saw some of the 50+1 guys suggest that the fans wouldn’t even have to buy the shares, they would just be given majority voting rights – for f. sake I ask you just how self entitled are these people? Well you don’t have to answer that, we all know about Tim Payton, it’s been his view for a very long time that he is the man best placed to run Arsenal and that he should be co-opted on to the board.
Arsenal Values is the slogan the noisy fans have spouted all week, but ask them what these values are, and they can barely string a few words together.
Yesterday Elneny put up a post asking for fans support when things are going poorly for a player, and the replies were filled with guys with the #kroenkeout and #wecaredoyou and most of their responses to Elneny was along the lines of “you useless tw*t get out of my club”, what Arsenal Values are they the guardians of?
We have the Arsenal Value brigade say they don’t want a sugar daddy owner, but almost to a man if you question them about what they do want, its filled with “an owner who cares”, and “an owner with ambition, and of course “an owner who will invest where needed”, and then the real gem, “an owner who listens to the fans”, each and every one of those replies mean “I want a sugar daddy owner who will buy AFC success, but don’t you ever dare suggest I want a sugar daddy”
As ever Eduardo hits some nails on the head.
Now let me be clear, I would love to see the back of Kroenke and his conservative business model but realistically, it’s not happening.
Firstly, he doesn’t care what the fans think and want , to anything near the extent “the fans” think he does. Fans are important to the club but he’s the 100% owner, I’m fairly sure he thinks it’s his club and not theirs.
“The fans” wanted Wenger out, he listened and it has cost him a fortune, I can’t imagine him listening to the same idiots again.
Who is going to buy the club, if he changed his long term, and recently confirmed intention, to stay long term? And how much would it cost to buy the club then invest enough to make us competitive?
“Arsenal are the eighth most valuable club in the world according to a new Forbes report that estimates the worth of Europe’s biggest teams has risen on average 30% over the past two years.
Despite the pandemic and owner Stan Kroenke’s unpopular management of the club, with supporters groups not satisfied by the lack of direct financial investment, they have seen a 23% growth in 24 months with a current value of £2.04bn Forbes say.”
So if Kroenke doesn’t want to sell, and he doesn’t, in order to make seling attractive, a buyer would have to pay a premium that is enough to tempt someone with a huge sports franchise to relinquish one of the jewels in his crown? Another £ billion on top of the £2 billion value? That’s £3 billion already. The city and Chelsea owners has subsidised their clubs to the extent of about £2 billion. It would take similar spending to compete with City, always assuming that they just don’t up the ante from the north of £2200 billion available to them in the overseas development fund of Abu Dhabi.
Ok, so we are looking at a spend of upto £5 billion now, just to hopefully challenge City , United and Chelsea. Where is this billionaire Knight in shining armour coming from?
Let’s look at the new hope, Daniel Ek. We will be generous and say he is worth £3.5 billion. That doesn’t mean he has £3.5 billion in the bank, it means his business is valued at that. So to buy Arsenal (which he could just about do by my calculations, but with nothing left for squad investment) he would either have to sell his massively successful business or borrow against it, with it’s own cost implications. I’m telling you now, it’s not happening.
I’m sorry, but we are going to have to make peace with Kroenke being the owner and hope that he makes some good appointments to run the club better, and also accept our place in the pecking order. That means 5th or 6th should be the reasonable expectations at the start of every season for the foreseeable future. In my opinion all these protest will achieve is making any enjoyment of watching the team, more difficult to get.
Finally, look at the motives of those leading the noisy protests, they either want attention or they will profit financially from the unrest.
Pedantic George.

Find it funny how ornstien is still leaking Ozil info.
Apparently club paying 90% of his wages.
Timing stinks of kse – Why ornstien needs to leak this information today looks like a deflection tactic.
Ozil has been nothing to do with this shit show for weeks and kse and arteta chose to pay his wages while he plays for another team and we endure this shit show.
Thought the whole point of shipping him him away and not mentioning his name was to stop the headlines about him and the club.

So Sky, ITV, BBC and many other news outlets are reporting that a take over bid for Arsenal will happen in the coming days, from a consortium including Spotify owner Ek and former Arsenal players Henry, Vieira and Bergkamp, and maybe Flamini.
The initial bid is said to be worth £1.8bn, but is expected to be well short of a figure that would entice KSE to sell.
Lets assume that they do finally come to an agreement and the new guys come in, it would see the two kroenkes leave the board and Ek, Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira and maybe Flamini join the board. Laughably Tim Payton of the AST insists that a fan rep also gets on the board. Its not hard to see his “ambition”.
How long would Arteta and Edu, and Vinai last if the take over happens. Two of the consortium have stated many times they want to be Arsenal manager, but if they are owners how could they ever be manager.

just a thought, KSE took full ownership of Arsenal in 2018, and AFC have won the FA Cup and the Community Shield last year, so if we manage to win the Europa League, which would be only our third European trophy, and get us back in the CL, surely their ownership would have to be seen as successful. Of course that is depending on actually winning the EL.

If Flamini is involved surely that means Mezut will be back. So Mezut and ARSENE could be back how funny would that be piss off AST, ATV and the like.

Completely agree.
Even if the sale does not take place Wenger as Director of football at Arsenal would be great for KSE and Arsenal. Only thing is Wenger agrees to it.
The plastic fans must have learned the lesson by now and hope won’t object. If they still object who cares.

I was interested to see Henry speaking to TS, playing the Populist card yesterday and how he was on the fans side. I remain a bit skeptical of it all, owners arent regualr blokes. He knew that today would be the leaking of the news so looking back it seems more contrived ( ok I know its fkn politics). As Eddie pointed out and George posted, the Value fans havent a clue what they want: “Someone who loves the club and is prepared to spend but I dont want a suggar daddy”: aftv. Are Henry and the lads ok with this?
I was watching them today ( or more listening as I was going along) man those guys are such manipulators in that which they speak, sort of feed kacki out all the time to it viewers. Who voted them as spokesvalues for the club?
” it would be good for the fans to own the club”…why though?
Anyway…but how long has this been in the pipleine (Arsenal Spotify )? Obviously its been boiling in the shadows for a while. Last week any news couldnt be released as it was the sports hacks dream; a week of only football dominating and being chewed over by all of us, and so nothing could come out then. Yesterday we saw the first dribbles of news about it. And now its main news again. But if the take overs been dated to this week then this has been going on for ages..take overs take a bit of planning and organising. But then maybe things wil only be agreed now and then sorted out over teh summer? But I also expect the breaking news the day after to tomorrow, saying its not going to happen..One things for sure its more media hype and testing the reaction of people…why wasnt it all doen at the end of the season and just announced. Why does everythnig have to be sensationalised: Because youre a dinosaur Mills and thats damn way of things now, click bait means advert revenue! Fame! We’re gonna live for ever etc
But to me it makes Henrys talk a bit more contrived than he wants to come across. What does it really mean to “be for the fans”?
I dunno. Maybe it will work, maybe it wont. Anti Europa league means anti cash which means anti summer presents for the Value fans. Not a good start! Especailly if the stadiums been refinanced?
It would be funny to see Mesut and Weng back as Ian says…Weng Im not sure about though, would he come back(?)- even dmim-witted aftv ( why do you watch then smarty pants?)said they thought that Arsenal had gone down the bog since Weng went. Why would these people be so anti him coming back in an upstairs guiding kind of way? Because it would mean they were wrong, ( as we know already) but they arent humble enough to admit it.And they have always said they knew better. Well they didnt and theyve hurt the club really badly.
Do you think theres some xenophobia against the kranks? I dont know why they havent really played this all a bit more cleverly, Im mean these people are rich business folk so why such poor PR? Maybe they are, who knows whats really gonig on?
How do you think ex-Invincibles can actually make the club better? OK, it feels good with idea of them maybe coming, but can they scratch more cash to cover exorbitant prices of players/agents? Mr Spotify wont be doing this for chairty either, nor any new owner…and what if its pants, will that mean the Invincibles are put away in the bottom draw for a rainy day?Heroes are normal people…and they fail too.
At some point they will have to calm the mob, for the Values/torches/ garden tools mob will turn on their heroes one day…it the way of things. Maybe they can. They are a pretty strong force at the moment.
However if Arsneal went through four years of really winning the league etc, then who woudl watch the likes of AFTV then..?
The take over is the sort of thing the Wobsters were calling for for years so if it goes tits up then surely theyve run out of ideas? Le Git wanted Weng out, he went. They wanted Artyteta, and hes not really pulled it off hes not really that good in relative terms , although theres the slim chance of the EL, but thats 3 games away, potentially. They wanted old stars back to pass on the knowledge, and here they might come, but what if it doesnt work out then. The way they act it will tear things apart and after that, what the fan revolution? I feel skeptical about that one, peoples will ofte doesnt much up to there talents…as history has show us.
But then things might work out better–we have good players but they are grinding out games with little self esteem, not enough guidence to self expression, and focus too much on being a social star. Kack that! To much pressure( this pressure got to stop)…
Time to get a bit more closed off and re build?Surely the club could do with that? But isnt that the antithesis of what the Arsenal Value group want? They want interactive Arsenal! Tough times, and outside of football its much much tougher.
Well we shall see. Im not sure it will happen. But wtf do I know? Less than not much!

you know its only a puff piece by the media to gain clicks when it goes from “bid within a few days” this morning, to now this evening “the bid will be made within the next few weeks. of course we know all this nonsense in the media is designed to keep as much in fighting at Arsenal as possible, when the “proposed” takeover does not happen, its more reason for the loud fans to be loud, after all one of them was about to win the lotto and get on the Arsenal board

Just heard from a well-connected source that Stan Kroenke is willing to sell Arsenal for £2.15 billion. He paid just over £1 billion buying the club. The failure of the European Super League (rather than fan protests) is what has created a change in policy at KSE.

I am never quite sure why playing for and having an affinity with a club would automatically equip you to manage or run a club. Both roles require a totally different skill set from playing football. Supporters who hail these returns with ‘his one of our own’ are misguided you only have to look at the track record to confirm this.
It is so frustrating that all these protests are inevitably counterproductive to the manager and team at a time when they desperately need focus. Just thankful for empty stadiums the thought of paying good money to watch the erratic performances this season coupled with the ‘Wenger/Kroenke Out’ brigade would put me off my Balti pie.

Arsenal owners “100 per cent committed” and not interested in selling club
Spotify founder Daniel Ek expressed interested in purchasing the Premier League club on Twitter.
Arsenal are not for sale, according to the owners (Kirsty O;Connor/PA)
By PA Sport staff

Arsenal’s owners remain “100 per cent committed” to the club and will not entertain any offers to sell, with Spotify founder Daniel Ek considering a takeover bid.
Swedish billionaire Ek last week sent a tweet saying he would be interested in purchasing the Premier League club, which is owned by Stan Kroenke through his Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) business.
It was reported on Monday that Ek, 38, had begun to make inquiries over the weekend into the viability of a takeover bid and that former Gunners players Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira were all on board as part of his plan.
But any potential deal looks to have been scuppered following a staunch response from the Gunners’ American ownership, who say they have not received any bids.
“In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club,” read a KSE statement.
“We remain 100 per cent committed to Arsenal *and are not selling* any stake in the club.
“We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.”
“Our ambition for Arsenal remains to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game and our focus remains on improving our competitiveness on the pitch to achieve this”
Kroenke Sports & Entertainment
Arsenal were one of six Premier League clubs to sign up for a breakaway European Super League before quickly withdrawing as the project collapsed.
That sparked fresh protests against Kroenke’s ownership, with thousands of disgruntled supporters marching on the Emirates Stadium ahead of Friday’s top-flight defeat to Everton.
“Our ambition for Arsenal remains to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game and our focus remains on improving our competitiveness on the pitch to achieve this,” concluded the statement.

that Daniel Ek gave an interview today saying he had secured the funds to make a bid for Arsenal, and he hope the Kroenke’s hear him out. By the quotes I seen it very much sounds to me like he does not have the sort of funds that would enable him to make an offer to KSE that would blow them out of the water, and also it seems if he did manage to get KSE to sell, that he does not have the sort of mega funds that it might require to make AFC competitive with the man citys and chelseas of this world

Mikel Arteta had some good news ahead of our Europa League semi-final first leg against Villarreal.
Our manager revealed that every player who had been out is now back in contention for Thursday’s match in Spain.
This is what Arteta told the media:
on the latest team news…
They are all in contention. All of them. Including Aubameyang, Laca and Kieran. They are all in contention for the game. Yes [it is good news].
on Tierney’s fitness…
He didn’t need the surgery that we were afraid of at the beginning and then he’s been working like a beast every single day. I don’t know if he’s going to make it tomorrow but he certainly wants to be as close as possible to that football pitch to give himself the best possible chance.
on whether he’s willing to risk players like Kieran and Auba because of the importance of the fixture…
We do need them, because we know that we have some players that are in contention and they are the ones who can make the difference in a big tie like this. But the word risk, I don’t like to put players on the pitch if they can’t perform and they can’t feel secure that they can perform. If it’s a risk or we’re going to take a gamble, then I don’t think it’s the right thing to do.

Arteta on the statement from the board…
Yes, we spoke to them and I think it was very clear. They show their commitment and their ambition to the football club because we all want a successful team on the pitch. It was very clear and it took any doubts out of the situation I think.
on whether it’s a distraction for the players…
Well a lot of talk and a lot of speculation has surrounded the situation in the last week or so, our fans raised their voices during the game against Everton, but now we have a very clear and committed statement from the ownership and I think that is gone when they say what they said last night and show the commitment and desire to take the team where we all want. I think it is very clear where we are moving forward.
on whether the Kroenkes will lead the team to the good times…
said from the very beginning what my perception was, everything I sensed and all the communications I have with them and they are fully excited and committed to this project and they want to push everybody to do what we want to do.
on the disruption a potential takeover could cause…
Listen, Roger, I cannot control the speculation and what is going on. What I’d like to know and talk about is the reality, and the reality is that we have owners that are really, really committed and that they want a successful team on the pitch. They’re going to do everything they can to achieve that. This is what we have and I feel fully supported by them.
on the possibility of seeing more regular protests…
Again, that is nothing I can control. They have the freedom and the possibility to express themselves. If you ask me as a manager what I want towards the team, obviously I want the stability around all the sectors of the club because I know it’s best for the players and it’s best for the performance of the team. The players need their supporters fully committed behind the team. The moment we have them inside our stadium, I’m sure that’ll be the case.
on what commitments KSE have given him…
It’s always been part of the discussion [to help him improve the team] amongst other things. What I can tell you is that they want to do their best in their capacity to support what we want to do, and have a really successful Arsenal on the pitch.
on the statement from KSE and whether it will be popular with the fans…
I don’t know, but I think it closes a lot of the speculation about what could happen. They moved straightaway and they made very clear lines of where they are standing and what they want to do with the football club. And that’s it, one thing doesn’t take the other, that the fans express themselves and their opinion, which is completely normal.
on whether he thinks Stan Kroenke should talk to the fans…
Well, I don’t know if that will be the case. If we all feel that it is necessary and it would be helpful, I’m sure that they would do anything it takes to bring the fans closer to them. If they get the opportunity to know them, I think most of them will be surprised. If that’s the case, I think that will benefit everybody at the football club, it will benefit the fans and it will bring a lot of clarity. So if there is a way to do that and it’s going to be helpful, let’s do it if that is what is necessary.
on what needs to change to shift the ‘difficult’ relationship with the fans…
It’s a question that I’ve been thinking about a lot, but there are a lot of factors which are difficult to control. There are still moving pieces there, but I am positive that in the next few weeks and months, we are going to be in a much better position. The only thing we can do to help that situation is to win football matches and win trophies. That always helps in football to bring that stability and excitement. And then, each party has to do a little bit to try to reunite everybody, because in the end it’s to the benefit of the football club and what they could achieve.

Tonight I’m hoping Mikel doesn’t go with all his newly returned players who have not been missed since they have been out.
Obviously it would be nice to see Keiran if only to allow Granite to restablise the midfield. The problem is he has to be fit and not a gamble.
I think it is time to make a big decision and have Ryan in goal as Leno, who has always been a bit of a Dracula keeper, seems to be losing confidence by the minute.
It is also time to return Hector to the back line as although I like Callum he is primarily a CB and will struggle against wingers with speed.
So in my humble opinion I would go with
Ryan
Hector, Bob, Mari, Keiran
