Hello and how are you? As the world starts brewing up for WW3, Arsenal take on Burnley for our penultimate game this season and our last match at the Emirates. KO 8.00pm local time.
I woke this morning feeling not too bad, (but nervous) about this one. For the whole of last week, after the torment and analysis of the West Ham game, I felt like I didn’t want to watch another Arsenal match in my life. But I will. How do you feel?
I think it’s the desperate need to win, and that each game seems to take forever, feeling as if we are playing with concrete boots on and the idea of going all this way and failing is tough to take. But it looks like it could well go down to the last day, and we all already know it means, we just have to win. Really it would be nice to chalk up five in this one and go to Palace with a spring in or step.
AWOL for the Arsenal are Merino, White, Timber! and Calafury. Beyer and Cullen are out for Burnley.
I phoned up statto HQ and they reckoned the Arsenal have an 87.7% chance of winning and Burnley 3.7% Next up, an end of season away day at Palace. SO COYG!

Well as I see it, a win tonight gives us 3 chances to win the title, We can win it by then beating palace or we can win it if City drop any points in their last 2 games. Three bites at the cherry with the big bite coming last. Palace are saying that they will play their best team against us on Sunday, so that’s disappointing, but in our hands it is. I’m of a mind that if we can’t win these last two games, we really don’t deserve to be champions. That said, I could care less if we drop points and so do City.
Try to enjoy the game and I’ll see you at the weekend.
Pedantic George.
what’s your 3 favorite arsenal goals of the PL season.
Mine are
Eze v spurs, the turn and hit
Gyokeres v spurs, the touch to set it up and then blast it like a rocket into the net
Dowman v Everton, it may have been a tap in to an empty net at the end, but the composure of his run, beating a couple of defenders so that he ended up with a simple put away was great, and after his earlier impact in that game made it more special, also his doing it at such a young age all contributed to it being a special goal, that will be one of the first things that I will remember for a long time about this Title winning season.
I look forward to watching a season review of our goals and I’m sure many more will come flooding back, but those are the 3 that jump into my mind instantly

Ed, I loved Zubimendi’s volley against Forest, although it looked better in realtime than on the replay. The connection was great.
Then Dowman vs Everton. Best moment of the season. God how I wish Nelson’s Bournemouth goal could have had the same story.
Then this is 2025-26 so I have to have a set piece. I’ll go with Martinez getting bodychecked and fumbling the ball. It’s the one set-piece goal that should probably have been disallowed, but kind of poetic.

Its really difficult to pick out of all those goals.
Trossard is someone who never scores a bad goal and you could probably say that about Zubamendi as well.
Every goal against the spuds is a good one and this season they all seem to be really good goals.
Eze scored two scissor kick goals both good and because we score very few breakaway goals I always enjoy those. Max’s one against Everton was good because of the timing and jeopardy in the game and because of the significance as well. Although my favourite part of that goal was Martinelli taking out the Everton defender, American football style so he couldn’t catch up with Max.
I was an early supporter of Victor so his goal against Leeds I enjoyed but I think my favourite of his was the spurs one from the edge of the box.
Talking of significance, Martinelli’s goal against city at home was giant and a peach at the same time.
I normally go for team goals rather than individual strikes but unlike the Arsene days, where there would be a hat full to pick from, there were very few this year. The early game against Leeds and the Fulham at home provided a couple.
Best goal from a corner has to be Eze’s against Newcastle and most relief goes to Kai.
Actually my favourite goal of the season I didn’t even see live, it was Kroupi of Bournemouth against city. Who knows he may be playing for us next season and he will be a legend before he arrives.

Ed, isn’t Alex Scott getting on a bit to be linking up with the men’s squad. I thought she was just concentrating on her media work now.
