Hello one and all.
In this podcast we have a grand old time basking in the reflected glory of a convincing performance from our exciting young team.
No one can question that Arteta has this group playing in a way we have waited for for a few years, it’s all good at present and we should make hay while the sun shines.
Pedantic George
Good to see you horny chicks back.I enjoyed the pod, the honesty and to see you guys happy.
Livercrutches is for me a bigger test than the Spudniks, as derby games tend to not really show how things are(?)- Liverpools pride will be up, (as it was with ManUre up at Old Toilet) but if we play like we have been, then we have a dang good chance (sorry to be cautious). Sure would be nice to do the biz, for too long we’ve struggled with them…
Anyway, cheers and it was good to see you on the screen again.

Us top of the league, Xhaka named MOTM and now player of the month, what the fuck is going on?

I certainly didn’t think we dominated and was screaming about the amount of time and space afforded to Son especially in the first half.
After he destroyed us last season I thought we would have handled him better. As George said there was definitely a rejig at halftime although this still didn’t have an immediate effect and the threat didn’t really go until he was taking off.
I thought we played better against manure although they obviously punished us more efficient on the break.
The main thing is we are picking up alot of very good wins and with each one we are putting more small things right and growing in confidence.
Even though pool were playing crap a few weeks ago I still thought they would be good enough to rock up and turn it on. Now I think that it’s more about how we play than them that will determine the result.
Even though we have one less day to recover we now have the squad to rest alot of the first team on Thursday whereas pool didn’t have that luxury.

It will be interesting to see who plays tonight, with a view to the Livercrutches game…
Tonight’s visitors Glimt seem on paper, pretty good, first or second in the Eliteserien (see Im an expert), how good that league is I haven’t got a dang clue.
Im sure Glimt will try to exploit the fact that everyone expects us to win. I hope though that we remain injury free no matter who plays.

Arteta confirms Arsenal want to extend Martinelli, Saka and Saliba’s contracts.
All expire in 2024, but current deals have options to extend in them.
My understanding is Saka and Saliba have one-year options and Martinelli a two-year option.

Nketiah and Holding with the goals, in a game we have totally dominated so far. Second string doing fine, would like Lokonga and Marquinhos to up their game a bit, Sambi for me taking the easy option all the time, and the young brazilian looks very nervous.

A fluid and simple Wengeresque rotation of the team today.
Which is different from a Pep style chop n’change, I could be wrong but that’s my impression of Pep.
I mentioned this feeling earlier in the season. That i’m hoping for an improvement in the (Wenger influenced) stewardship of players’ fitness over the long haul of a PL season, and I think we might be seeing some signs of that.
I wonder if the BFG will ever join Arteta with the first team I suspect he is enjoying his current role as he will also always have Arteta’s ear. A positive influence in the background, and you need those.

I can’t deny it I was spitting gr*t when Saka was subbed on.
Can’t have it all in one go, I’ll still be happy with gradual improvements and the starting line up today. Considering that this lot look a lot better then that lot last weekend (what do I think of Tottenham?).

Nkeitah, Holding and Vieira with our goals.
Dominated the first half almost totally, but made real heavy work of it the second half, so much so that we had to bring on Saka, Jesus, Odegaard and White to put us in control again.

Given the eight changes it was understandable the slightly disjointed performance, however the Norwegian champions weren’t a bad side and played the ball along the floor even after going two down.
We did give the ball away alot and my impression was we either thought they weren’t going to be any good or individual players were just trying to hard to impress and taking the more difficult option rather than the more effective five yard pass.
Although Vieira was probably most guilty of this, all had a tendancy to do it and that includes the first teamers who started and who came on.
I too was slightly miffed by the subs just before the pool game, especially at two nil up it just didn’t seem necessary. I think fresh legs were needed but not sure the right players came on.
This was a disjointed performance but we still dominated and they rarely threatened so another win in the bag without firing on all cylinders, it’s all good at the moment.

this a massive game for Arsenal, win and we will be seen as genuine contenders, we will have put 14 points between us and Liverpool, all but ending their title prospects, and putting them under enormous pressure in the league. Lose and it will be seen as same old Arsenal, with a soft underbelly and just another false dawn.

Martinelli and Saka with our goals, first minute and last minute, we were second best for much in between, too rushed or panicked, they are there for the taking if we calm down.
I’d take off odegaard and bring on Vieira
