Arsenal Need To Salvage Some Pride.

Hello all,

In this last preview of the season we hope against forlorn hope and yet dread the reality of our horrible end of season collapse.

  1. I realise that this might be uncool to write this but the older i get the more I think cool is a limiter, and life is short and full of stuff(as the song says).
George, many, many thanks for keeping the website going and that we have a place still to come too. Thanks and the best of health to you and yours. It hasnt been an easy season for the players or for the supporters and sometimes its been reflected on the blog, but at least we still have one.
I’ll be glad when the final whistle blows tomorrow and we all know whether St Totts gave us a miracle or its “Europa league, youre not having a laugh”. I just hope its not and echo of the start of the season…

And thanks George for all your tweets which are profound and insightful or down right hilarious and satirical. Cheers!

Also many thanks to Shotta, the unsung hero of the UA pod, who has had to deal with all the technical aspects and both taping and publishing and organising the weekly speakers in different countries and deal with his own time zone differences in order to make it all run smoothly. Saluté! and thank you so much for all your hard work.

It came across as a good first season vlogging!

And thanks to everyone whose been on the show, except that bloke Mills, I switch off when he starts going on. It been always interesting to listen to the shows guests point of view from Im glad to say is an international view-point, sometimes under very difficult circumstances but were still able to give interesting and humorous insights.Hope you are all back next season. Thank you!

And last but not least to you PA guys who come on and take time to write your thoughts throughout the season. Im always interested and grateful to read the comments and to think about whats being observed, the tid bits and match day news and whats happening at Arsenal. So to you all, and those who havent posted much this year and are much missed: THANK YOU!

Keep on keepin on! I hope you have a great summer. Take care of yourselves.

    COYG!

  2. All good and well Millsy, really and truly, but you can’t escape the post-season review. You been there from the start (1st Subscriber, 1st Guest, 1st Everything) and hopefully there at the end.

  3. if norwich were to pull off the shock result of the season and beat spurs tomorrow, who here would actually be confident Arsenal will have beaten Everton to get CL spot. We might win if we score first, but by god if we go behind we are highly unlikely to get anything out of the game. This season Arsenal have picked up just the 4pts after going behind, so is one win, one draw and thirteen defeats in the 15 games we have fallen behind.
As someone pointed out today, when Emery was boss it was almost seen as funny how often his team came from behind to get something out of a game, be it a win or draw, the joke was that we’d be behind at half time, then have a good comeback in the second half. Along comes Arteta, fixes our defense, then buys a new defense, gets rid of all the bad eggs in the squad, gets rid of all the leakers, gets rid of all the slackers, changes the whole CULTURE of the club, and we can’t do diddly squat once we go behind. Maybe a few free thinkers(sorry slackers and bad eggs) wouldn’t be the worst thing we could have in the team. Pain by numbers Arteta football is the greatest PR con job since Brexit.

  4. I echo all of that, I love being able to come on here and post my thoughts and so I’m thankful for all those who make time to make it happen.

  5. Marseille and Saliba qualified for the Champion’s League. What a year for our young CB, young player of the year in France, first senior cap for France, and now CL qualification. Guendouzi there too, but it seems he is staying with Marseille

“This is a scandal. We will now report PSG to Uefa, French authorities and EU authorities”.

  7. how many of our match day squad tomorrow will be doing so for the last time, Elneny, Lacazette and Nketiah are out of contract, Leno is certain to leave, some of the young lads like Swanson unlikey to have future here, dare I say Xhaka might leave this summer, and there are big question marks over Tavares, Cedric and others

  9. The thing ED after all the clearing out last season there seems alot will go again this but the problem we have is we played the second half of the season with a squad that was to small. With some sort of Europe and probably going a little bit further in cup competitions then we need a much bigger and experienced squad next season. How are we going to afford that or even attract the amount of extra players in without accepting a drop in quality which will set the whole clearing out problem all over again.

  10. Just listened to the pod and it was great again guys.
The last game plays two teams stacked with good individual players but will be deterred by attitude. Can ARSENAL get out of their depression and forget any pressure they might be under or will we finish with a whimper.
Everton have the pressure off but will that make them play freely or will the hinge relief of dodgeing relegation send them to the beach.
Actually on a lovely sunny day I think it will be a good game without the restrictions pressure causes and I expect a great win even though I do expect another away keeper masterclass that happens to us every now and again.
Sunny home games are normally great for us so let’s finish the season in style COYG.

Thanks guys you have made laugh, cry and ponder all season long.,
