Is Stan Kroenke Now Arsenal’s Saviour ?

So the great new dawn is upon us. We have rid ourselves of Arsene Wenger and his gang of incompetents, and replaced them with high class people that can bring us the success we deserve.

It’s absolutely fantastic. The players are drinking water, smiling, training hard, young players are involved and the manager is hands on on the training ground. These things never happened before , now did they?

That there have been major changes in personnel is undeniable. That they are all top people in their fields of expertise appears to be the case, they are certainly experienced with good track records.  Its more people with more individual responsibility and a coach with much less. Modern football? Or should I not say that because “modern football” is frowned upon by the “we want our Arsenal back” hoards. But I digress.

The point is almost every fan is happy, us included, the future looks bright. But what has actually changed other than our perceptions?

We have spent about £70m up until now, I suspect there will be outgoing and our net spend will be considerably less. So are we spending more? Is the new regime spending the money Arsene refused to? Seems not ?

Have we dipped into the £250m in the bank that should be spent on making the team as good as it can be? Seems not ? Perhaps that’s not for spending then, or not anywhere like that figure?

Are we competing for the likes of Marhez ,with City, or are we still buying from the second shelf ? It seems we are not and we still are  ! So what’s the big change?

Have we tied Aaron Ramsey down to a new deal, or is it dragging on? Dithering?

Now here is the rub, the moment many readers start shifting uncomfortably on their seat, searching for an answer that doesn’t destroy all their hard earned narratives.

If you are happy with all things Arsenal now, you have a certain Stan Kroenke to thank.

Without spending any more of the clubs money, and of its reserves ,or dipping into his own pocket for a single silver dollar, he has given everyone what they wanted ? Without being a football man or spending time at the club he has granted the wishes of the permanently malcontent.

His useless puppet (Ivan) is now the dogs bollocks. We are Kroenke FC , being driven by Ivan, and he is the very image of a none football man.

So if everything is rosy in the garden, and I hope it is, then we should be very much KROENKE IN ? He has come through big time and perhaps all the hate was for nowt?

  1. good god, anyone seen how BBC have covered the Ozil statement

Ozil ‘no longer wants to play for Germany
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil says he no longer wants to play international football for Germany.

In a lengthy statement, the 29 year old said treatment he had received from German Football Association (DFB) had made him “no longer want to wear the German national team shirt”.

He also claimed he was being blamed for Germany’s disappointing World Cup.

In May, Ozil was criticised after being photographed with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan at London event.

my God, talk about leaving out the actual key points, and watering down the whole thing. Would never do to raise the ugly and distasteful topic of racism.

  2. ozil as i’ve come to know him is a honest, fearless, frank and full of gut. he is never afraid to say what he feels even when it doesnt make everyone happy. he doesnt do anything to please the croud or try to be politically correct. this has unfortunately earned him lots of enemies and detractors.
lets face it, he has had as much criticism and detraction from our fanbase, media and the english public in general if not more than what he is just coming to terms with in germany. he has won germany best footballer voted in by the german media and peole for four consecutive year but in england he has not even been rated better than dele alli and ericsson hwo are clearly not as talented or productive.
i think what ozil is most disappointed about is the fact that racism and religion is playing a big part in what is playing out in germany. so the english media and public need not claim any moral standing here as our ex players are worse than the german people. and the truth be told, underneath thse cricism in arsenal fan base is racicm and religious hatred. this have gone as far back as wenger’s arrival here. giroud, iwobi, arshavin etc have been targeted for no justifiable reasons.

  7. Amazingly retarded actions from the dfb, snivelling Ozil haters like Honigstein can barely disguise their feelings as they try to balance the story however the damage to German football from this story is huuuuuuge.

I don’t think the three legendary senior German players who led the team to their last WC would’ve tolerated a divided dressing room. or more importantly the lack of suppor for their team from others. Yep – the players, the composition of the squad, the character, it does matter! Sometimes more then the “coaching”…

As seen with France and Evra, it’ll take several years for them to truly recover now, as it did for France even with all their depth in talent. For transparent hacks like Homigstein to try and downplay the extent of the damage to their national team is more revealing then anything else IMO.

    As always…a class act.

“Ozil is unique. There is no copy of him, not even a bad copy.
“He is the best No.10 in the world. He makes things very easy for me and for his team-mates with his football vision and the decisions he makes.
“Everyone loves him and sees a bit of Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane in him.”

    Here’s Honigstein’s revealing effort.

“Only Ozil himself will know whether his reasoning is entirely genuine.” Regarding his meeting the Turkish president.

    What?

How about the meeting between the German leader and the Turkish president. Was her reasoning genuine.
Or how about the little parade down the A40 in c.London when the same president came to have some tea with Her Madge?

These not very discreet people are fooling. O one. I have more time for gibbering idiots and bigots like uli hoeness then sneering cowards like honigstein who can’t even bring themselves to accept what everyone else can see: there was no excuse for Ozil’s treatment other then prejudice and bigotry.

Otherwise we’d all be talking about Muller’s efforts at the past two tournaments not just this last!

    Honigstein?
    He is not Arsenal Quality.

  11. Don’t know what has happened to Muller, injuries?

Ozil and Muller either side of the CF in 2014 was very similar to Griezman and Mbappe either side of their CF 2018?

However without Muller finishing off some of those chances created by Ozil the German team simply didn’t have enough firepower (though Brandt looked like he’d liked to have scored some goals he didn’t have the coaches favour).

You all know my own opinion and preference for strikers such as Aubamayang.
Yet whilst the arse numbing Experts spent years slagging off the best target man in the world (Giroud) the last two WC winners have had targetmen leading their attacks. Without “wingers”. Yet apparently AW had got stuck in his ways and had forgotten how to coach!
*checks twice, looks at the tactics and line ups of the last two WC winners*

  12. < the big swerve by Honigstein is regarding the the thinly disguised term of reference regarding the "Bling Bling Gang"

It's not just Ozil. But as long as twerps like Rafa try to pretend that it is as that is what he can be read to be doing by not even referring to that element in the story, then the longer the German team will fester and suffer.

Sane being left out was just the start of this story and Ozil quitting will not be the end.

  13. one thing on Ozil, until recently, due to the German Turkish meme I actually thought he was born in Turkey, I had seen him described as being German Turkish, or Turkish German, I had assumed he had to be born in Turkey, but not only was he born in Germany, but I seen yesterday, so was his Dad. Oddly that the likes of Podolski who was actually born in Poland, was totally accepted as German, but then again he fits the stereotype image of a German, and is Christian too, poor old Mesut with his dark hair, tanned skin, and being a Muslim, was always going to have the racists etc target him.

Of course most of them have tried to hide it, they dress their racism up by mentioning everything but his race or his background. It so reminds me of the views expressed about Black players in the 70’s

    lazy
    soft
    work rate not good enough
    don’t win tackles
    luxury player
not doing enough for the wages
    weak mentality

when discussing Ozil, you see one or more of the above soundbites mentioned in regards to Ozil, then beware, you are in a discussion with a racist, might be a well spoken racist, or a racist good at hiding it, but make no mistake its a racist.

The BBC, Hongy’s and other crap-ilk-nesses show a continued agenda of ???, so unfortunately I’ll expect to continue seeing opposition players jumping on OT otherwise fouling Ozil with refs pretending it didn’t happen, followed by said opposition going up the other end and either scoring or getting free kicks for fouls invented, etc.

  25. just had a long laughable exchange with YankeeGunner who was going on about how AFC must force Ramsey out if he does not sign a new deal. You know the sort of thing, if he don’t sign sell him, like all other big clubs do, proof of which is that few big name players go on free transfers.
Oddly enough by the end he was stating that clubs don’t have to force the sale of big players cos they want to stay and so stay.
All night long it was there is only two options, he signs new deal or we sell him. would not acknowledge that there is a third option, Ramsey sees out the rest of his contract, and we can continue to try and persuade him to sign a new contract, a la Ozil and if we make CL we actually can afford to offer him a bigger contract.
the sad thing is this YankeeGunner is an AFC blogger or podcaster. imagine being such an idiot and feeling you have enough wisdom to blog/podcast about Arsenal, what worse is people actually tune in to him and follow him.

He just needs to give us his e mail address so we can all send him our bank details to donate to the cause.

Passenal, it just a recent global Al shift to the right that finds us in the situation we are in now this country has been drifting further and further right wing since the days of thatcher and winning an election through the populism of war or selling off the family silver.
We are so right wing now there are many disgracefull views ppl don’t even try to hide anymore.
Fins, your comment about criticism of the DFB not meaning you hate Germany is exactly the same as the argument at the moment about being able to criticize the Israeli government without being called anti-Semitic.
Finally Ed, you are dead right about the AST. They have had no reason to exist for a long time now and their shares are dwindling while their membership grows which tells you all you need to know about their loyalty and dubious reason for existing. With ownership sorted they turned their attention to Arsene and Ivan and with Arsene gone and Ivan’s profile going up in this world it makes you wonder what they will have to complain about. We can only hope they turn on each other and self combust.

  37. Is Unai going to need some support when people eventually work out the complex sum that a top level defence without top level defenders is not going to play like a top level defence?

    Who knows, not me!

Now that the club have managed to secure replacements for Gabriel and Coquelin and uncertainty and conflict upstairs has subsided the squad should be stronger?

IMO minus the two stellar talents in Mertesacker (“panic buy” you know?!!!!) and Koscielny that so many of the blissful idiots took for granted for so long, Arsenal no longer have two of the best and most admired CBs in Europe and beyond in the squad. Current CBs can improve (nope that doesn’t and will not include either new defensive signing) but it won’t happen overnight.

Please note that since Usmanov decided to take his laundry to Everton that club have also been outspending the Arsenal (at a guess), but you won’t get the blaggers mentioning that as they deceive the gullible listerners from amongst their flock that AFC have been outspending Tottenham, Liverpool, add in Everton etc.

It’s not going to be easy to find gemstones like Mertesacker and Koscielny and sneak them past Usmanov’s and others’ envious and greedy eye and into the Arsenal.

I hope the new CM proves to be one such quality player. the consideration, since last summer, is that they need to find more such potential or talent further back.
However Chambers’ form at CB at he end of last season was quite a lot better then, say, Phil Jones! Hehe. There is some serious potential in Holding and Chambers, hopefully at least one will come through?

  38. MP’s “amazing defensive coaching” at both Southampton and the tiny neighbours been built upon the second top Belgium CBs who they produced in recent times who had better luck with injuries then Vermaelan, Alderweirald, who has always impressed.

    This is not an opinion.

Unfortunately for Belgium there’s not much TB could’ve done regarding the genius decision to start Fellaini as a traffic cone opposite the current best CMs in world football as opposed to lumping him off the bench as a good option if chasing a goal. Because he certainly isn’t go to “dictate play”.

As dissapointing a call from a fearful coach who had more exciting options available as anyone will ever see, though some of the calls by coaches in the other SF were equally dissapointing. So many want to be like the stylish Deschamps, Mourinho included, but so few have his style!

So many people being critical of his decision to start Giroud as being negative apparently can’t understand why using the world’s best targetman, at the peak of his career, with experience and positivity, to release the two wide forwards, is a smart thing to do. And that is one reason why Deschamps is a WC winning coach and player! Those must be some of the same people who couldn’t acknowledge the great Arsenal team from 2014-2017, including two Fa cup winning assists no less from the silky smooth boot of the big lump, and the many many great goals and trophies a player like Giroud helped to bring to the table. Hard luck on Lacazette not making the squad but he’ll get his chance in a French team when he deserves it like Giroud. The key to Deschamps success with his squad was his man management, his character, and the admirable character of the players he put his trust in like Giroud and the charitable young Mbappe – who chose to not come and play with the Arsenal primarily to spend time close to his academy club, his family etc.

whilst Mbappe may match Henry on the pitch he’s already eclipsed him off of it. Huge shame afc missed out on him but he made the right call, not forgetting AFC’s inability to match or even come close to the wage offered by PSG, still in Mbappe’s case it clearly wasn’t all about the money.

All things considered having a PL ready mature experienced Aubamayang breaking all records is not too bad a replacement! Possibly the better move for AFC in the short term.

The quality going forwards is not in doubt.

The doubts going the other way have sweet FA to do with the “coaching” in spite of the repetitive Gibberish of our small minded agenda driven Experts.

The new CM may be a great signing. When AFC signed the we winning Brazilian captain he had players like Sol Campbell (recognised by opposing Int. coaches as England’s best CB for decades) etc. behind him.

I don’t see how the squad is the finished article just yet. Another window (Jan) or two required, or time for current players to develop or in Mustafi’s case to find more consistency (& calm!).
