So the great new dawn is upon us. We have rid ourselves of Arsene Wenger and his gang of incompetents, and replaced them with high class people that can bring us the success we deserve.
It’s absolutely fantastic. The players are drinking water, smiling, training hard, young players are involved and the manager is hands on on the training ground. These things never happened before , now did they?
That there have been major changes in personnel is undeniable. That they are all top people in their fields of expertise appears to be the case, they are certainly experienced with good track records. Its more people with more individual responsibility and a coach with much less. Modern football? Or should I not say that because “modern football” is frowned upon by the “we want our Arsenal back” hoards. But I digress.
The point is almost every fan is happy, us included, the future looks bright. But what has actually changed other than our perceptions?
We have spent about £70m up until now, I suspect there will be outgoing and our net spend will be considerably less. So are we spending more? Is the new regime spending the money Arsene refused to? Seems not ?
Have we dipped into the £250m in the bank that should be spent on making the team as good as it can be? Seems not ? Perhaps that’s not for spending then, or not anywhere like that figure?
Are we competing for the likes of Marhez ,with City, or are we still buying from the second shelf ? It seems we are not and we still are ! So what’s the big change?
Have we tied Aaron Ramsey down to a new deal, or is it dragging on? Dithering?
Now here is the rub, the moment many readers start shifting uncomfortably on their seat, searching for an answer that doesn’t destroy all their hard earned narratives.
If you are happy with all things Arsenal now, you have a certain Stan Kroenke to thank.
Without spending any more of the clubs money, and of its reserves ,or dipping into his own pocket for a single silver dollar, he has given everyone what they wanted ? Without being a football man or spending time at the club he has granted the wishes of the permanently malcontent.
His useless puppet (Ivan) is now the dogs bollocks. We are Kroenke FC , being driven by Ivan, and he is the very image of a none football man.
So if everything is rosy in the garden, and I hope it is, then we should be very much KROENKE IN ? He has come through big time and perhaps all the hate was for nowt?

Very clever pass from Ozil to Nelson to set up Laca for a tap in. Impressed with Ozil today.
I don’t like man to man marking at corners, but looks like that’s what we’re going to have.

WWB total failure in describing that finish as well as you!
I felt that Lacazette had a better outing then Aubamayang today. Looking all good with the forward options. Welbeck offers a bit of power pace and yikes pashun I mean height too if required.

I thought Hector’s performance was worrying last night, getting caught wrong side, turned inside out and his crossing was woeful. I know he can play much better than this and he’ll need to if he is to keep Sane and Stirling quite in the first game.
Also I’m sure if I’m confident in the new defensive coaching if keeping Smith-Rowe on a player he was clearly getting nowhere near seemed a good tactic. I can only think they were telling Emile this is reality get better at it. The problem was he wasn’t and none of the other defenders took any responsibility.
Going forward we did get better and again I like the idea of the CBs splitting and the two midfielders dropping in and getting the ball.
Amazing how many people slated Arsene for getting rid of Perez when Unai seems to doing the same.

Hector with the physio as he came off? Not fully fit on the night I suspect/hope.
Possibly both FBs with niggles maybe worse for the LB, I won’t blame the new manager’s extra focus on running. Ramsey. yikes!*
I like the old skool Michael Holding philosophy of training, the thought of running on a carribean beach every morning has always appealed to me. Hehe.

I get it everything has changed at Arsenal for the better since Saddam Hussein.. I mean Arsene Wenger left and he did not have a clue and all that. But as many have pointed out on this site the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Just said with a (I am getting a little bit desperate for UE English to work for him, I just can’t help watching him with pride, trying to comprehend English and deliver his thoughts in English) Spainsh accent
I have not watched a whole lot of German football over the last few seasons ( as opposed to Spainish and French,it’s a language learning thing) so my analysis might not be totally fair, so I ask the question.
Did Marco Reus play upfront rather than nominally from the Left for Dortmund in BL games when he played with Auba?
Marco Reus plays more like Van Persie than Ozil
That famed ’10 and a half’ statement (Not untrue I might add
Mr Wenger played Aubameyang wide forward last season
Auba hated it and scored 10 goals
More goals than anyone else in the last half of the season
Mr Wenger did not wave his arms about so it does not count
Left footed Mohamed Salah scored 32 goals in 36 games from wide forwrd right
It must be Rocket Science

AMN at LB?
I don’t know why the new gaffer keeps on playing his players “out of position”?
Or why the club are playing some unknown plucked from Lorient on Grimandi’s advice?
And: What’s going on with the defensive coaching (set pieces was a strength over the last two seasons)?
Asking upon behalf of those brave blaggers and philanthropic podcastateers.
These people who have spent years running down the recent great Arsenal team and the great players who made it great have less then zero credibility when it comes to discussing the football on the football pitch.

Alarming start to proceedings but got much better as game progressed.
Not a good night for Hector but I think that kid against him is a special young player- too good, i think, even for Chelsea to ignore- who could give any fullback a very hard time. Majority of prem defences would obviously be deeper and with a midfielder close at hand to help out. One-on-one he’s a nightmare opponent.
Equally impressive though was Guendouzi. I’ve been reserving judgement, though he’d done well, before last night, but bloody hell he had a good game.
Don’t know what to call it when you can deceive opposition into thinking you’ll play one pass before a quick shift and playing another but it looks a big talent of his and is both thrilling to watch and effective. Requires boldness, confidence, quick mind and the technique to do it.
There’ll be challenges ahead, when he gets caught out, when he gets targeted for fouls, and probably when some of the fans loving him now give him stick, but so far so good.
Worried about Kola. Knew immediately something was wrong. Has suffered badly with knees before. Only saw one replay but didn’t look good. Think he may have gone with left when right was ideal.
Real sickener if anything serious as last year it felt like there were might be fitness issues a lot of the time, and so he and we/club needed to see how it would go with a longer run and, hopefully, full fitness. Any big issue now and…eurgh.

A good five minutes but as expected a full strength Chelsea midfield took the ascendancy in the first half before a post bruised bone Fabregas as usual faded from the game.
I enjoyed the grit and gumption shown by the second choice midfield.
Reminded me of the spirit and determination shown by the Arsenal when playing as underdogs against Unai’s PSG.

It will be great when the former WOB, stop with the “everything is better now the old dictator has gone” then I can stop feeling the need to defend Arsenal’s greatest ever manager in return and just let Emery’s Arsenal evolve and become the thing it needs to become.
Nothing stands still and even the teams just below last season’t top 6 have been picking up some good bargains. If they can get their teams gelling and performing to their potential, next season could be very interesting. The proof, as they say, will be in the pudding! The same goes for the new look Arsenal.

I imagined that AFC were after the reserve French LB before they went for Kolasinac.
Now tha he’s been picked up by Everton, might have to hope they can dig up another bargain if our LB is out for a while.

Bellerin seems to be about two yards slower (over 50 metres) than he was a couple of seasons ago when he was timed as the fastest player in the Premier League. I’m sure the dieticians at Arsenal are monitoring him, but I know from personal experience what a lack of protein caused by an unregulated vegan diet can do to a person.
It can’t just be that all the other players have got faster can it?
Doesn’t help that he seems to have no help on that side of the pitch and regularly has to make up ground to get back at his attacker, but that kid was skinning him last night.

Hector was by eldest boys favourite player and he swears it’s the vegan diet thats slowing him down (he’s on a high protein low carb diet at the moment so maybe a little biased).
Truth is it wasn’t really speed letting him down last night it was decision making, starting position and crossing that let him down last night which are all correctable.

I’d love to know what his diet actually is. With no dairy, meat or fish where does he get protein?
Quorn, Veggieburgers? Or those pills that weightlifters take?
It’s all beyond me.🤔

Report – Arsenal to sign Catalin Carjan in December
by jeorge bird
Arsenal are set to sign talented young Romanian midfielder Catalin Carjan in December, according to a report in the player’s homeland.
Carjan previously had trial spells with Arsenal and will officially link up with the club when he turns 16, according to Digisport.
Capable of playing in numerous midfield positions, the Romania U16 international is currently with Viitroul Domnesti and his agent, Catalin Sarmasan, oversaw Vlad Dragomir’s move to the Gunners.

My dad, bro, sister-in-law and niece are all vegans.
Don’t know much about typical diet in my brother’s household but in my dad’s case he eats vast amounts of soups, into which he puts countless ingredients, and a huge bowl of porridge each day with so many supplements and extras in it that it gets consistency of halfway set concrete.
Plenty of vegetables have a good protein content so with the quantities he eats he’s fine.
Whatever he’s doing, it’s working. In his seventies now but has far less colds etc than he used to and is in good nick.
I’m not tempted to join them, for a number of reasons, even though morally I see the appeal.
Laziness is the big one. I’d be much more likely to do it if i had easy access to the best vegan meals on offer and that’s no doubt something Bellerin does have. Browsed through a few books with aim of trying to get my dad to expand his diet and lots of the stuff looked good, but realistically not stuff he would make.
I’d fork out to get a chef to do it all as De Bruyne and no doubt others do.

SR – Tofu, soy, lentils and other beans and pulses! There are plenty of plant based protein alternatives available. It’s easy to blame Hector’s diet if he has a bad game because he has been very open about it. But who knows what some others may be eating or drinking that might be affecting their performances?

I eat most of that plus fish, chicken & offal. Did the vegan thing back in the eighties when it was fashionable, didn’t really investigate it thoroughly enough & my health deteriorated for a while.
Not sure what Hector has in mind, but bet he gives it up after a while.

SR, Hector probably gets most of his meals prepared for him, so I’m sure he has a good balance. The club would be checking that. Like any other diet, too many processed foods is usually the downfall. As long as he is getting variety and freshly prepared food, I’m sure he’ll be fine.

I watched Unai’s post Chelsea match interview on .com and when asked what he liked about the team performance, he mentioned possession and attacking dominance for majority of the match. When asked what we could improve, he said he wanted an increase in our goal scoring opportunities and forward options for the player on the ball. He mentioned nothing about defending, marking, clearing, or water bottles.
This new arsenal feels just like the old one.

six days of the English transfer window to go, by this time next week we will know all the signings we will have added, but oddly enough we might not know all our sales, as other European leagues transfer windows do not shut till 31st of August. So rumors will persist for some of our players if they are not moved on or new contracts not signed, I’m thinking about the likes of Ramsey and Welbeck re contracts, and Perez, Jenkinson, Ospina and Campbell for transfers away

lots of rumors today, both in english media and in Italy that Perez deal is very close. So they guy Wenger gave “too few chances to”, is not being given a chance at all by Emery, but still his failure at AFC is all down to Wenger.
Emery is a very lucky man, the narrative chosen for him is so favorable that it will be almost impossible for him to fail, even if he does it will not be put down as his fault.

There is no excuse in league football to not have the allegedly professional (far from it) Reps on mike explaining their reviews to fans inside and outside the grounds. No debate to be had, because there are no excuses for such blatant chicanery.

Arsenal are said to have signed 15 year old Romanian midfielder Catalin Carjan, with it to be confirmed in December when he turns 16. Don’t know how true it is, but reports say that the lad made his league debut in Romanian Division 4 at the age of 10, and played in Division 3 by the age of 13.

you know this summer has been an awful one for Arsenal ITK’s, Ivan spanking them with the “those who talk don’t know and those that know don’t talk”, really showed them up, the Arteta and Allegri links by the ITK’s fucked them up, Ramsey’s Agents slapping down a few of them too,
but if one thing shows that none of them, not the ITK’s, not the bloggers or the big twitter accounts, know a damn think or have any sources in the club, is the case of Josh DaSilva, not a God damn one of them, not a single ITK, not a singe blogger, not even those dedicated to the youth side of the club, and not a single twitter account, has a bloody clue if the lad is an Arsenal player or not.
His contract was up on July 1st, he was offered a new deal, but after that not a peep from the club or him. Despite stories linking him with bosman to clubs such as Celtic, and now a loan move to Birmingham, and many of these ITK’s and uber bloggers talking about this move, not one of them know if he is still an Arsenal player or not.
