Arsenal Chew The Toffies

wembley

“Que, sera, sera, whatever will be, will be …”

I have to admit to feeling more than a little apprehensive before kick-off  and by half-time I was feeling no better.

Even when we scored after seven minutes I was worried.  I don’t know why, because we were clearly the better team.

Fabianski had nothing to do and it seemed like we spent the majority of the first half taking corners.

Yet Everton somehow managed to score.

Arteta took a shot from the edge of the box.  I am told he should not have been there because that constituted being “out of position for a holding midfielder.”  I’m still trying to come to terms with that opinion.

The ball was blocked and fell to Ross Barkley (Jack’s replacement as the saviour of England).  He ran the length of the field with Flamini, who despite catching him, allowed him to cross a low ball in to an undefended far post. Per should have seen the space but was attracted towards the ball.

1-1 at the break. Bollocks.

Anyway,  you all saw what happened in the second half, we were very good and very good value for a comfortable win.

There were some great performances from quite a few of our boys.

Ozil was simply majestic.  AOC was terrific in his directness.  Mikel commanding.  Santi was at his tricky best.

The skipper was very good considering how little he has played.

Rosicky was just something else when he came on.

Oh yes, and Giroud once again made a mockery of the idea that he can’t finish.

On to Wembley.

Great game, great tactics and great set up. It looked to me like Arsene had shuffled Mikel forward a little, less holding and more…….. well something else. Controlling is perhaps the word ?

I liked it.

If you liked it enough to Twitter with George he’s at @blackburngeorge

  10. Excellent performance and unlucky. Very proud of this squad.Bayern know that they can’t beat us in their own stadium. They know we are coming to get them…and get them we will. It is just a matter of time.

As for Robben the Rat even the most sporting of chaps must have found it impossible to resist the urge to bully the fucker at school. What a complete and utter cunt.

  12. Good performance and as every man and his dog has said we were undone in the first leg. Ox the best player on the field. Our defence rock solid and Tommy looked like he had been playing left back for years. Bayern made to look very ordinary at times tonight.

  13. AW got his tactics right I thought. I agree with Frank about the Rat of course.
Great performance from the defence. Wish I knew what’s up with Ozil though.

  14. If I ever meet either Clive Tyldesley or Andy Townsend I will have to try very hard not to stick my hand down their throats hook my pointy finger round their arseholes and pull them inside out. What a pair of proper clowns..

  15. Evening, Hawkeye. I reckon that AW and the squad did all that they could after that fiasco in our gaff. I reckon we should do what ever it takes to keep Fabs btw. Looks world class to me.

  16. I was thinking the same thing. Theo would have ate up Bayern.

The Ox has arrived. Roy is rubbing his precious at the thought of being able to call him up for England.

I thought Podolski had a monumental game as well. His finish was a great, big fuck you to his critics in Germany. I fucking loved it. Legend.

Koscileny may be getting all the plaudits at centre back, but BFG is a sly motherfucker, in my humble opinion. The way he sticks out that big old leg like a pterodactyl, that’s just good football.

Verma and Koscielny are two of the best man markers on the planet at the minute. They don’t fall for crap like most CBs do. Top, top class.

We’re going to feel Flapiansky’s loss when he fucks off next summer because dumb fucks called him Flapiansky. I’d give him the number one shirt for the rest of the season. Awesome goalkeeper. That penalty. Uffffffff!!!!

I’m getting nervous that Sagna hasn’t signed a deal. He’s the best right back in the world.

Tony Gale thinks Giroud is not the striker for us. The dude killed it, but he’s not good enough for that cockney idiot. How can you watch a match like that and come away with such an observation? Ahhhhhhh.

    Arsene is a master.

  18. I hear that Mesut is likely to be out for a while…and though disappointed I am OK with him being off for a while. Disregarding those who have not been blessed with the ability to see his ability game after game, he has put in an amazing amount of effort and had no time to adapt to the EPL and I reckon the guy needs a rest even if it has to be an enforced one.

We have depth in this squad, young players champing at the bit and players coming back to form. We will have success this season and even more in the seasons to come and Mesut Özil.will be right in the middle of it.

  23. the same with anicol5 and gains ,id stick with fabianski till end of season too. per dealt with everything in the air, world class, i dont agree on giroud perhaps and i havent really decoded yet why arteta was in a more forward position than cazorla…have to say germans were far more alert and pep was constantly up yelling , pointing …wasnt comfortable not even at 3-1 aggr. score. i guess he realises all arsenal misses is momentum, cant wait to see ramsey and ox and theo on the same pitch.

  24. The babies together. But you’re missing Jack in there. He, in my opinion, is more dynamic than Ozil in the hole. He’d spring Aaron, Theo and Ox in on goal.

  27. thought we played well tonight shame about santi going to sleep for their goal but hey.
How strange was that ref he really had no idea what he was doing and no two fouls were judged the same which made it very difficult for the players.
Arsene called it absolutely right and once again the media criticized him too early and we should see many retractions tomorrow ( yeah ok two faced bastards )

  28. poldi had a good game yesterday. though he was slow in the first half but became a different animal in second half. took his goal well and got into dangerous positions too.
he will play a prominent role in the closing period of the season now that ozil is injured. caz will likely move to the centre which will allow him to move to the left. if he can play like he did in the second half he may cement his place in the team before ozil returns.

  29. something i noticed again yesterday. which has always happen is the fact that the referee stopped calling any foul against against bayern since poldi’s goal. anytime a referee feel he gave a decision in our favour and profit from it or not, they want to return the favour to our opponent by all means possible.
despite the obvious negatives, we could have won at the death if giroud has done the simple job sagna did ( even in a more difficult situation ) on saturday by just laying the ball back in time for gnabry to slot in.

  30. we sure missed the pace of gibbs but verm did a good job on that cunt. he didnt allow him any sniff of the goal all night trying to cut in as usual. for a center defender who has not played many games is more than excellent. you need to see vatonghen against chavs to appreciate verms effort.

  31. but for his shooting and distribution yesterday, fabianski deserves a run in the team or at least some games before the season ends. maybe we sub sir szcz off if and when there is a penalty against us.

  32. I am absolutely fucking proud of my team. Down to barebones yet a colossal performance. against the world champions. This is the same Bayern that smashed 7-0 past Barcelona over two legs last year yet they struggled to draw with us in their own backyard. Yet the cnuts in the media and our own plastic fans try to undermine our achievement and persist in finding scapegoats, whether it be Ozil or Giroud, to slag and undermine. I hope we put up with none of that shit on PA.

  33. yes gains he is more dynamic for sure and out of the four english/welsh kids perhaps the most naturally talented footballer. just needs to stop getting into silly fights with people trying to wind him up.

    anyway

lets go for the fucking title…everything else is bullshit…the title…win that and …wow…how many games we got left? 12? 12 straight wins. nothing less.

  38. As a devotee of Pace it has been hard having Walcott & Chambo out of action. I think they were only on the park together this season for the first half at Home to Villa. This was after the mouthwatering counter attacking master class against City in Pre-season where Ramsey also put down a benchmark that he went on to match and exceed. Admittedly pure Pace is a personal preference. A shame the Experts can never admit their own tastes. What interests me is how can these Experts describe Plans A or B (I think they think that a manager is only allowed to have two plans in total?) for a squad that will go on to include Walcott, Chambo, Campbell, Podolski (I hope), Giroud, Gnabbers etc. and maybe even some unknowns. Good luck with that!

After those early losses of Plodders and Walcott then Arteta and Carzola who is not proud of how well this team have done this season?
As before Özil’s loss will provide opportunity to others, possibly more minutes for our beloved Plodders (what a thump that was!) , the resurrected deadwood Rozza and Gnabry too.

This team and squad is still growing. That’s why those who are intimidated by AFC’s ability to run a top club without bungling transparent frauds all over the shop provokes the useless hacks who write for funny papers owned by the kind of owners who like that kind of bungling.
