Hello and welcome to this week’s Round-Up.
First up is the news from last week that Santi had won the Arsenal Player of the Month Award for February. Cazorla just pipped Wilshere with 44% of the votes to Jack’s 43%. That is a substantial pile of per cents for just two players. The biggest revelation to come from this story, however, is that 13% of the voting populous have clearly been smoking a lot of crack.
Cazorla also pipped himself to the Goal Of The Month award for his second and winner against Aston Villa. The goal went something like
“Wilshere, oh nice ball. Well done Nacho. Very well done Nacho! AAAARRRGH SANTI AAAAAAARGHHHH!!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!! ”
You know the one I mean.
With no weekend tie for which to prepare, Arsene Wenger came out late last week to talk to Arsenal Player about the up-coming game in Munich. The boss said 327 times in his interview that we have to believe. I think it will take a sit down with Paul McKenna round Derren Brown’s house to convince most people.
But without hope we have nothing; a performance to be proud of would do me, or failing that, a shed-load of luck.
Carl Jenkinson also did an interview which spelt out his love for the Champions League. He spoke about how it’s what you dream of whilst growing up, the music that sends a shiver down the spine, and how he would tell his school friends that he was going to watch a Champions League tie.
What is the Europa League music anyway? Whatever it is, Arsenal fans tend to have plans on Thursday nights and we don’t want that to change next season. We are the very fabric that makes the Champions League what it is. We are the Champions League!
The absence of Arsenal at the weekend forced many Gooners into watching less important teams. Many will have seen Ryo Miyachi’s return for Wigan against Everton on Saturday. After months out injured he was brought on as a sub for some player and was doing pretty well until a good hearty Premier League tackle from behind, sent him crashing into the hoardings and carried away on a stretcher, clearly in considerable pain and distress. Kevin Mirallas’ mother was unavailable to pick him up from the game but is believed to have said he too is “not that type of player.” Mirallas joins the growing list of footballers who will get theirs!
Lastly, and devastatingly, news broke on Monday night that Jack Wilshere had picked up some kind of injury and is a “major doubt” for the away leg against Bayern. Without any official confirmation from the club at that time, theories were being created and dispelled through the night. Some were saying that it’s just ‘mind games’ from the manager while others believe that Wilshere has been left on a waiting-list for surgery as Kroenke is forcing him to go on the NHS.
The truth, as always, will be somewhere in between.
That’s all for this week, thanks for reading.
Up the Arsenal!
Jenks is our first choice RB if you ask me

Excellent display. Very proud of the team!
The back 4 were excellent all game and a special big ups to Fabianski…I tell you what, Wojo has a fight on his hands, that was a great display tonight. Jenks also impressed the heck out of me in this match, that kid is really good. Gervs was quite good also, in his little spell.

ARSENAAALLLL!!
I have concluded they are probably bad for my ticker, but I love ’em anyway.
Great gutsy performance that. To beat Bayern in their own backyard is no mean feat. So so close to pulling of the miracle. Would have been all the sweeter ‘cos not one bastard gave them a cat in hell’s chance. A Herculean effort nonetheless.
Proud of the team, and the (amazing) away support. We’ll need that spirit in the coming weeks.

Just so incredibly proud of the team. We made one of the most dangerous attacking teams in the world look ordinary. The Robben 1 on 1 apart I can’t remember a dangerous chance by Bayern all night long. All just long distance efforts and Fabianski (What do his detractors on other blogs call him again? Safe-handski?) wasnt going to be beaten on that night. Jenkinson once again with incredible passion, I am very, very happy to see what kind of player he is becoming. Highlight as already mentioned yesterday when he was 1 on 2 with Robben and Müller and took the Ball off both of them.
Offensively, we played with lots of patience and we got rewarded for that with several great chances. We took the first one, the second one was unfortunately killed by the ref (Theo was NOT offside. No. no. no.) who was somehow giving most 50/50s to Bayern, for whatever reason, Gervinho did well in a tight spot but couldn’t get it on target and then Koscielny scored our second but unfortunately, clever time wasting by Bayern which went unpunished by the ref (no card for Neuer, for example, when he refused to give the ball back and no extra time added on for time wasting) prevented us from creating another good opportunity.
I feel we would have deserved more from this game. Somehow, it’s just not fair to draw 3-3 and lose. Doesn’t compute for me. Which makes me ask,
who came up with that stupid away goals ruleand why wasn’t that person hanged by his testicles yet? It’s a stupid and pointless rule that has no place whatsoever in the current climate.
But overall, after the disappointment of losing despite drawing is gone, all that is left is pride for my team and all our players.

FG not tearful but certainly gutted.
Away goal rule has always been contentious but being honest you take it if it works in your own favour, every time.

I’m not gutted about the away goals rule, it is hearing about the theo offside, Robben diving around etc, and coming so close that has frustrated me. I keep having to remind myself that this was an away win against a team that has only lost twice before all season and that we kept a clean sheet….but it’s cold comfort at the moment.

I would have loved it if we could have got past those arrogant idiots after their disrespectful comments following the last game. But at least we showed them how ‘easy’ it is to beat us – not.
Well done team and supporters. Let’s hope we can carry that spirit into the rest of the season

A good effort by the boys to beat Bayern at their ground.
Just one question. Where the fuck do these referees normally work?
The last round of games have had some serious ref cock-ups. The idiot & his cohorts tonight never had a clue.

And Kos getting booked for trying to get the ball off their keeper (who actually dived on the ball at the back of the net) was ridiculous.

What a stunning performance.
Nobody – but nobody – goes to the Allianz and wins 2-0 . . . . . . . . . . . . except Arsenal.
A credit to all the team – and especially to the tactical nous of you-know-who.

Sounds like we put in a massive performance! I couldn’t see the match I’m at a conference in San Antonio, Texas and I couldn’t get way to a bar. Scanned the newsnow feed and some shameless headlines in the Daily Mail about dipsticks who cancelled their flights out to Germany because they disagreed with the team selection. What dipsticks!

-that was an extremely good and focused tactical performance…everyone…they certainly carried the cannon…build character …added weight on the shirt …well done
-giroud got hit by train at some point i think i saw his knee disfigured in slow motion..worked so hard…credit to all of them…
-ramsey heh..any idiot complaining i wonder? his joy in our first …such belief…good player aaron…versatile and tenecious… ignore the haters…
-some will need to apologise to wenger tomorrow..
-juup and neuer were very close to practically shitting themselves….the smell travelled all the way from allianz…not only delaying juup wanted to make sub in minute 90+3…hahaaaaa
-if theo hadnt been flagged in error..argggh..very proud of them …
-gervinho..nearly world cup momment..
– the ref played the home team 80-20… the ref only gave us calls when the fouls happened to his countryman thomas…nobody else.
– bring that form in epl games
– konscielny is officially the best defender in the world…… in my eyes. he might score an other own goal again because he is a ninja who will try to defend everything and a deflection will punish him at some point but he is still the best defender in the world….i dont say centre back i dont say stopper i say defender…almost psychotic in his focus and determination tonight…..actually very psychotic… and calm too….very important.
