Arsenal Overcome Spoiler Tactics.

Arsenal slew Brentford and their negative tactics in the latest dramatic chapter of their 2023-24 Premier League season. In this #UncensoredArsenal podcast both Shotta and Blackburn George were impressed by the manner in which Arsenal gained the victory, increasing their intensity from the 1st to 2nd half as Expected Goals, Number of Shots and Corner Attempts significantly increased prior to the winning goal. Once again the podcast is “eating humble pie” for prematurely writing off Kai Havertz. George stresses that criticism was valid when he was playing the midfield Xhaka role but it must be acknowledged he has been outstanding playing as a false 9. The podcast concluded with thoughts about whether Arsenal’s title prospects are better than the failed challenge of 2022-23.

  1. Posted this on the last thread,, but its as apt for this one

after today’s results Arsenal need a maximum of 23pts from the 30pts available to gurantee a top 4 finish and cl place for next season

10 wins and only liverpool could pip us for the title on goal difference, we currently have a better goal difference to them by 7 goals. We have five home games and five away games to play

    home games remaining

Luton Town, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Everton

    away games remaining

Man City, Brighton, Wolves, Spurs Man Utd

  2. We have not done well against teams who employ the low block and it will be especially difficult tonight as an early goal effectively just puts it back to 0-0 so changes nothing for them and will not change the way they approach the game.

Even going two up probably won’t effect their style until the last twenty.

They are organised and very quick on the counter so are going to be very dangerous opponents.

I would imagine there will be another blistering start but after that we will have to manage the game much better than Brentford and the December games where we got stuck in negative possession.

Tempo, width, positivity and clinicality will all be crucial to get a positive result but we certainly have the ability to do it COYG.

  12. look guys it was not pretty over the two legs but only one things matter we are through, its better to have been less than pretty but get through than play great expansive football and be out.

Porto set up very deep and done a lot of play acting and time wasting over two legs, and of the 7 teams we can draw in the QF only Atletico Madrid if they get there, they are 1 down to Inter after first leg, will play like Porto did over the two legs, so forget all the pundit nonsense about how everyone will want to draw AFC in the next round, thats just bullshit, oddly enough they didn’t say such about Bayern who were outplayed in the first leg of their tie and should have been dead and buried in it.

Real Madrid and Man City are the only outstanding sides left in the draw and yes if we played like we did in this round they would knock us out, but there is nothing to suggest we will play like that, we are much more likely to see a toe to toe footballing game against nearly all the sides left in the CL

  14. I think city are head and shoulders above everybody else.

The other seven teams are bang average, in European competition terms.

We are a better side than the two legs against Porto showed but maybe in the future we will have the confidence to turn up in these games.

I see a montage of teams that knocked us out in the last sixteen years ago. All of them could beat all seven left in this years competition and probably city as well.

There Is no reason we can’t go further in this seasons CL but we will need to play with the confidence we have in the PL and be positive as well.

  17. It is only right that we buy another keeper to add to the army of purchases we have made in that position.

If only we could of had a young goalkeeper who came through the U21s, won the F.A. cup with us, went on to play for his country, won the world cup and is one of the best keepers in the PL, it would of saved the club a fortune……

    oh yeah we did!!!

I guess that makes Liverpool favourites for the title. While us and city are dinning at Europes top table, Liverpool will be playing tinpot rovers for a laugh.

  21. So wolves let us down, they managed to lose to Coventry in the cup.

This means we have a possible ten games in 31 days from city on march the 31st to the possible CL semi final 1st leg.

It also means we play Wolves away, chelsusa home, spuds away in the space of a very hectic week.

With a three way fight for the title and the likelihood of every point making a difference we could be in a very different place by the start of May.

  23. with spurs losing 3-0 away to fulham this evening it means in the fight for top 4 arsenal need a maximum of 20pts from a possible 30 to finish above spurs, and just the 14pts to finish above man utd, and with us having to play both of them, wins over them would cut both of that by six points each

  24. Ed, because of where and when those fixtures fall we could be out of reach of both of them before we play them.

  26. Arsenal are set to sign Ceadach O’Neill this summer according to the Belfast Telegraph, a fee in the region of £250K is being mentioned, he is 15 and has played 3 times this season for Linfield’s first team in the Irish League, where Linfield currently sit second 2pts off top but with a game in hand.

O’Neill would be coming in as a first year scholar, and he plays midfield or as a forward, he has been caped by Norther Ireland at U17 level.

He comes from a sporting family, two of his uncles, Paddy and Eoin Bradley were GAA inter county stars for Derry, and Eoin also had a good career in the Irish League for clubs such as Colraine and Glenavon

  29. We have two wins and a draw from three games against city this season and I’m actually disappointed, that’s shows just how much we have improved.

I know the players and coaching staff would of gone into the game confident and up for it but once it started we looked scared at times. You cannot blame players for that I think in some big games that just happens. It made us stop playing football and just kicking it long

We absolutely battled for everything and that’s why we come away with a draw. If we can play with more freedom we will beat city and all the top teams on a regular basis.

  30. Arsenal Women won the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup trophy for the second season in a row and for a record breaking seventh time in all.

    a few talking points

Frida Maanum collapsed at end of normal time, with no one near her, the game was held up for 7 minutes and she was taken off on a stretcher, it was reported later she was conscious and talking, no word yet of what caused her blackout.

Stina Blackstenius scored the goal, she gets a lot of online stick from gooners, as she tends to miss a lot of chances, but she never hides, she never stops having a go, and she gets in great positions and scores lots of goals, so very happy for her to get the winner.

Emma Hayes the Chelsea womens manager, who at the best of times is an obnoxious winner, so you can imagine the type of cunts she is when she loses, barged into the Arsenal Women’s team manager Jonas Eidevall after the game when he tried to shake hands with her, if that had been other way round he would be looking at all sorts of FA Charges, but I doubt she will have equal treatment. Lets hope Lyon win the womens champions league, and man city women win the WSL, so that Hayes can fuck off to the USA empty handed the bitter cunt

I think she was bullied as a kid because she has a massive chip on her shoulder. I don’t know whether she needs counselling or just needs someone to tell her to grow up but she seems to be seriously unhappy whatever happens.

Anyway fuck her and her problems Congratulations to the girls on yet another title.
