Hello and how are you? The 1st of November will see Burnley FC host a visit from the Mighty Cannon. Kick off at Turf Moor is 3.00pm UK time. Expected weather is 10°( feels like 6°) partly cloudy with 40% chance of rain.
Scott Parkers team are currently 16th place: W3 D1 L5 F12 A 17. But they have put both Wolves and Leeds to the sword, and have scored in all of their last six matches. Jordan Beyer (hamstring), Zeki Amdouni (knee) and Connor Roberts (knee) are all ruled out through injury. Quilindschy Hartman and Lesley Ugochukwu are both dangermen to look out for.
Arsenal became the first PL side to play six games in a single month and not let in any goals. Martinelli and Saliba may be doubtful when Saturday comes.
Statto HQ sent over a marathon runner and after collapsing upon delivery the message read: Arsenal have a 74.9% chance of winning and Burnley 8.5%. Well that’s it, next up a trip to Slavia Prague. COYG!
Mills.
Burnley then, wing commander Parkers not so merry men, oh Jeez, another 10 behind the ball from whistle to whistle. Is we get a couple of early goals, it could be a lot of fun, however, if we don’t I expect another bore fest. Fans like me, for my sins, demand open entertaining football, but how the hell can Arteta’s men provide that when every team forms a square to repel the Arsenal column? ( I have watched way to much Sharpe over the years). I don’t think Arteta’s mind set lends itself to expansive play, but the boredom element is definitely brought by the opposition. But who can blame them, if the open up it would become a rout.
I expect the starting eleven to be the same as our last 2 PL games, injuries permitting, with the young guns flooding on as “finishers” if we have a healthy lead.
Enjoy the game, speak again soon.
Pedantic George.
burn ner ley, made famous by great pies and the inbetweeners. Apparently they always score even when they are getting hammered so our clean sheet record could be under threat.
At the end of the day this is another difficult away tie that our amazingly talented squad will have to find a way to overcome.
The amount of goal threats we have from all areas makes you expect a win but we need to score first and early to make it easier and a more comfatable watch COYG.

Yep Big Willie was one of the tottenham rejects who became successful at ARSENAL. Where have we heard that about a CB before.
Terry Neil tried his best to get the tiny totts relegated, he was relived of his duties and he came to us and won the cup in 79 and was unlucky not to win a lot more silverware.
Big hands Pat Jennings was another who popped down seven sisters road to taste success with us.
As mentioned, one of the most famous flags ever seen at Wembley, We’ve got the biggest Willie in the land. It might be a nice touch to put a copy of that flag somewhere at the Grove.
R.I.P. big man.

Strange game today, after creating a host of chances in open play we score from a corner, then go two up and are in total control.
The expected maroon onslaught came but the longer the game went on the less well we coped.
It is strange to say about a team currently on a fantastic clean sheet run, but our game management over that time seems to be very poor. Refusing the safety of the corner flag, kicking wildly long when we have possession and choosing to shoot when a pass is the better option.
Anyway overall it was a very good performance, on to the next.

Steve Walford was the other Terry Neill signing from spurs, and Steve also played in the 79 FA Cup final win, he was the sub.

anyone else see the bullshit the Brentford manager Keith Andrews was spouting yesterday about Arsenal being the team that started the revival in long throws in the EPL this season. This was in response to Brentford being by a distance the club that has launched the most throw ins at goal in the EPL this season. Keith claimed that Arsenal started it cos they used long throws v PSG in the CL semi final last season.
I was delighted today that Crystal Palace scored from a long throw v Brentford.

the bad news from today, both Gyokeres and Zubimendi were taken off cos they had injuries, Gyokeres one was muscular and Zubi asked to be taken off.

Ed, brilliant memory,
I was going through the list of the younger squad players Devine, Gatting etc, but couldn’t remember Walford’s name.

now back to our team now, lots of people, me included, find most of our games a tad (maybe more than a tad) on the boring side. But who or what is to blame for that.
For me Arteta is too risk averse, but I would say that this season by far the biggest reason why our games are boring was on full view yesterday v Burnley, and it had damn all to do with Arsenal being risk averse. Even when we were 2-0 up Burnley stuck to their massed defense, they were petrified that we would give them a hiding. Burnley like many sides this season did not have a single shot on target. Yes our defense is brilliant, but defending is made a whole lot easier for them when opponents will not commit more than a couple of players to attack. Burnley only came out of their defensive shell for the last ten minutes or so, and at that point we had already replaced half our starting 11.
Arsenal yesterday, like most of this season so far, were missing Odegaard, Havertz, Jesus and Madueke, and lets not forget Martinelli too, and we still created enough good chances to have scored 4, 5 or 6. So any cause of the boring game was not on Arsenal.

It is amazing how after just ten games the media are giving us the title already.
In second and third place are city and pool respectively and with nearly three quarters of the season still to go it is certainly still far to early to calk anything.
Could the cups and CL participation prove decisive this campaign?
Seeing how previous winners have made up ten points in the final ten game run in, the expert analysis, given by those who are rated higher by themselves than anyone else, is absolute crap and should be ignored by all ARSENAL fans.
This season is going to be long and hard and any advantage we have will definitely fluctuate.
It seems like some people are lauding us now so they can slag us later.

Martinelli and Gyorkeres missed training today so it will be interesting to see who travels and if they don’t who is put in the team.
The further complication is Declan is one booking away from a suspension and if he gets it in this game he will miss the Munich game.
Eze has also played a lot of minutes recently.
Do we gamble and play our absolute strongest strongest side or do we rely on our squad once again.
Personally, because of the league format, I would rest as many first team players as possible especially in midfield and forward areas.

Media cover Arsenal differently.
Terry Flewers a manc on youtube exposes media bias and PGMOL corruption and his vids provide a lot of evidence on this. Its not just Arsenal but thats my focus and that who I notice the most. He has been on Carrager and Neville case this season. A lot of media narrative concerning Arsenal starts with them. Its Neville thats been saying Arsenal have to win the prem this season.

Gee, I’ve seen some of his vid’s and they are excellent. You expect anti ARSENAL stuff from ex manc, Merseyside and spud pundits but when its from our ex players like merson and smith its even more frustrating. I suppose that’s what you get from Chelsea and Leicester supporters.
Oh and Zubamendi is suspended for tomorrow.

palace have got their wish and had the league cup game moved to the 23rd of December, just two days after our PL meeting with Everton which is 14:30 on the Sunday.
I doubt whether either game can be moved again to the Saturday or the Wednesday, so the attitude seems to be fuck ARSENAL once again.

Arteta says Arsenal hope that their EPL game v Everton which is scheduled for the Sunday before the CC game v Crystal Palace on the Tuesday is moved to the Saturday. I doubt it will happen as that would make too much sense.
