Patterns lost = 6 Points Dropped.

Hello all.

In this podcast we look at dropped points against Southampton on the back of Liverpool and West Ham and my conclusions point the finger at certain players that seem beyond criticism. Then we try to assess our chances against City on Wednesday night.

Now, as I’m currently off twitter ( for reasons discussed in this podcast ) if anyone could promote this podcast for us, I will be very grateful.

Pedantic George.

  1. Morning lads, thanks for the pod! I enjoyed listening to it.

One thing I thought was really interesting amongst the other points you both made, was that George talked about Jésus, and it highlighted the problem of a talented player, whose successful, and then gets injured and how a team then adapts to their absence, only to be thrown slightly out of kilter when the player returns. Its tough.

I felt sorry for Ramsdale, can you imagine the self loathing he had cooking up in his mind? Poor bloke. The whole team at 2-0 down must have been panicking, and at 3-1 too.

One thing makes me feel sad is that in the FAC game against the City Monsters earlier in the season, we looked capable, and still felt confident, now it feels like we are mice, we’ve already lost the league and next year we wont have a chance. Yet the stats aren’t sealed in concrete yet, even if they are in everyone’s minds. Is the wobble as much in our minds as there’s?
I hope the lads can get some belief in them that they can get a result. They haven’t led this league for so long because they’re kack.

    Cheers again!
    COYG!

  2. I simply can’t get over the the temerity of Twitter to suspend Georges account for being “racist” for saying Partey played like a donkey against a donkey. What kind of world are we living in when social media is into censoring fans because of speech that may be coarse but acceptable to the sport?
    PS:
In the podcast I was trying to remember Ariel Ortega the very talented Argentine footballer who played as an attacking midfielder for his nation as well as professionally for River Plate, Valencia, Fenerbahçe, Parma and Sampdoria. His nickname was “El Burrito” (The Little Donkey). His father, also a footballer, was the original El Burro hence him being the Little Donkey.
You all know I have my senior moments. At least George remembered Tony Adams was called a donkey especially during his early years with Arsenal.

  4. It is interesting that George mentioned Jesus as I always thought he was an atheist.
As far as twitter mate concerned they are a law unto themselves and have always been happy to endorse hard right wing Racist while suspending accounts that have been temporarily ambiguous.
Although I do think it is harsh to compare a donkey to Partey I’m not sure if a Donkey is even a race and also have no ideas of their general footballing skills.

    Hee Hawlays calls Partey that!

The person who reported this classic English joke/ribbing is expressing prejudice against the famous English sense of humour.
    They are probably English.
Haw-lmost definitely they are a braying idiot.

  6. Great podcast. I like Partey can see why he is popular. I also liked Coquelin who was not a poor player. I also liked the first two seasons of Alexis (Copa wins gave his ego a surge)
The team has been better this season with one of Xhaka or Jorginho in the middle. IMO alongside the No.5. Not starting Trossard was also a missed opportunity if GJ is going to start against City just a few days later.
City are and have always been the favourites.

If the Gunners beat City they’ll still need to get enough from the remaining games nevermind Newcastle I’m hoping the ugly west London club keep Lampard till the end of the season.
Even if a win at City doesn’t win the title it would still be great to continue the goal scoring, fluke less goals against in this game and beat them. Holding may pay tribute to his favourite donkey no not Adams & go full Keown on Haaland. COYG.

  8. Another good pod lads,
I don’t think Martinelli and Saka were brilliant but it was generally such a poor performance it made the odd individual skill look brilliant.
For me Martinelli holds on to the ball to long and often runs out of pitch, this has definitely got worse with Jesus’s influence as I pointed out when we were winning before the world cup.
Martinelli is such a dangerous player and a good crosser of the ball, the more he mixes it up the less predictable he will be and the more dangerous he will get.
Remember Ronaldo when he was first at manure very talented but with little end product until old red nose put him straight that football is a team game.
Shotta I’m sorry but our little Ukrainian was awful for much of the game, in fact him and MO ‘s most useful contribution in the first half was the huddle.
On to tomorrow’s game on paper we don’t stand a chance. History is against us, form is against us, injuries are against us, squad size and talent is against us.
However football is certainly a funny game and just as a million teams have gone to places where they don’t stand a chance and won we must cling on to that same scenario. I don’t think city particularly like playing us and on our day we can hurt anyone COYG.

  12. Dang. I hope we could get to HT 1-0 down. City totally impressive, look like scoring every time they attack.Might be better to get J20 on? Lucky for City that VAR drew the lines, unlike for us a Brentford.
Not sure if we can get back in this. But its not totally over yet. COYG!
