  1. Xhaka had a better game than Partey last night but he’s not a player marked as a saviour so fans won’t acknowledge it, same as Gabriel just before he got suspended he had a few bad games. Mari is the in form player at the moment and should regain his place.
Hector is our best RB by a mile as well as being a captain on the field with Xhaka and it would be difficult to replace him. Cedric is not good enough and although Ainsley could do a job we would need someone else as well.

  6. so espn and the independent both include the same point re ozil’s exclusion. that a lot of it was down to Arteta feeling his authority was undermined by Ozil’s refusal to take the pay cut, and that he was thinking of bringing ozil back into the fold in january but changed his mind cos Ozil told other players he was proven right about the pay cut thing.
so they really are suggesting that Arteta’s football reasons is in fact his ego could not take anyone not bending to his will. The non negotiables are nothing more than do exactly what you are told to do by Arteta or you are out, and to think Wenger the great dictator used to get accused of not wanting anyone to disagree with him, what the hell does that make Arteta then.

  7. foreverheady I think many of the southampton fans would take the league win as it would put them in contention for a CL place, or EL spot, while a lot of Arsenal fans would take the cup win as retaining the cup would still be on and if we win a cup its all great and dandy for Arteta.

  8. plus foreverhead I think there would not be many southamtpon fans who actually think they can win the cup

David Moyes has just gone 5 points off the top of the Premier League, 2 points behind Liverpool and 5 above Arsenal. He arrived with West Ham 17th, midway through last season. He has rebooted them, making a transfer profit. He wont get much of the credit he utterly deserves.

They must have trusted the process

But surely you must see that ….without Wenger….. the club is a big fat 0 in terms of strategy, vision, organisation, efficiency. Arteta came to clean the slate and that whoever is on board is ‘mikel way or out’. The Wenger method is exceptional when you have committed professionals. Wenger did not have to chase Patrick and Robert and Thierry to give a performance…he did not have to say much to encourage solid world class professionals who want to come out and dominate the opposition themselves. Denis and Patric and Gilberto can be excused a crap perfromance every now and again….even a crap year. Ozil why? what has he done/contributed to enjoy same status?. If mikel wants 11 players to press as a unit and work the team like a harmonica ( as we were in 2007 witht he exceptional 442 of toure/gallas (cb) clichy/sagna(fb) flamini /cesc(cm) rosicky /hleb (wings) adebayor van persie (str) ..with eduardo as well in the ranks..humiliating sevilla 3-0 at home with possibly the best football ive ever seen arsenal play) then ozil has no place in our team. Neymar is also world class would not want him at arsenal…. pogbas ozils neymars…away away away…

ozil was ok for die manshcaft and real m,adrid but they had world class all time legends in their first 11s and ozil just completed the puzzle… when you have mueller and klose and kroos and shweisteiger and cristiano and marcelo and dimaria …eh yes ok you will have great assists….

therefore 1) either it was worng of us to purchase him in the first place ( my one and only complain regarding Arsene…entrusting his hard earned money to this guy) since we don not have the world class personalities to fully utilise him. 2) this league is too hard for him with the fouls and closing down 3) he wont bust a gut thaaaaaat much , certainly not like rosicky….

  14. Obviously we need to win both but if I could only win one then it would be the league and then draw in the cup and go through on pens.
Out of the two the cup is probably more important considering the chances of qualifying for any European competition is very slim.

I mean how can he say Arsenal should not have sigend Ozil.
Infact Ozil had a record number of assists during 2014/16 for 3 continuous seasons. Infact Ozil was more suited to Arsenal under Arsene Wenger than any other team in PL.

Yes ok , im fine with your opinion. I said what i said from the point of view that i did not see Ozil as strong enough for the EPL. Did not call him a bad player just not suitable for premierleague (unless we can surround him with benzemas and cristianos and shweinsteiger). Good player but not all that ( in my eyes only) i rate players like kaka rosicky as far higher 10s than ozil. What we saw from Rosicky at Dortmun aged 17,18 with Hitzfeld as coach ..ive not seen from many …..that speed that dribble the shots the passign the one-twos connstantly involved, everywhere, pity the guy had injuries. Also i cant ignore the weight of expectations poor cesc was carrying for all of us between the ages 19-24 and how the kid woudl always give his all and the respect i have for that cant associate it to ozil; cesc made me cry when he socred in san siro and ran to hug wenger…ozil has not done that not even close…

Gilberto: what is your view on David Luiz and how he has played for us? solid when he wants but wanted to pull my hair out when arteta said in one interview that we lost our creativity when luiz had to come off. Playing -wise he is hit and miss and frustrating as hell but i think he has done well in helping perhaps holding and gabriel. Mixed feelings about him. he is clearly not the answer and never was, but as a stop gap solution not that bad maybe. Pepe for instance is a bigger problem than luiz…

heh george hunter was locked/banned ..came as close , hope youre all well and healthy and in good spirits ! football without wenger is just awful ..heh…please make him chairman at least ..for life

  26. how can i put it? i find it shockling that a club like arsenal (not much to show for in terms of organisation/structure, mega-big- ness) would just cut off ties with their father like that..its like Ajax telling Cruyff to fuck off…..it just shoulnt happen. ever. shows lack of fan ettiquete, lack of fan culture…. if a section of idiotic dortmund fans were hounding out klopp strong words would be exchanged possibly more…

  28. ok found it now, id say the biggest reason i dislike ozil is that laidback style/ attitude fake coolness which i think should only be reserved for Zidanne Bergkamp Pilro who can actually carry it and support it …those kind of guys… Only Zidanne is allowed to jog around chewing gum while the other 9 are busting their guts (imho)

Just imagiine we had a character like jordan /vieira in the squad today and they saw ozil chewing gum and jogging showing disinterest and awful body language while were chasing a winner/equaliser …id otn even wnat to think about it..he woudl rip him apart like a crocodile would rip apart a poor deer… just read what poor anelka had to go through when he missed sitters while arsenal was 4-0 ahead … hahaa

  33. So this Gilberto guy thinks Cesc is more Arsenal than Ozil but forgets that Cesc didnt won a single trophy during his 8/9 years at Arsenal but Ozil won 3 FA cups for Arsenal in his 5 year for us under Wenger(However it is maningless if you dont count FA cup as a trophy.)
Infact Cesc and RVP have damaged the club more than any other player imho. They betrayed Arsene Wenger big time and showed no respect for the man who built their careers when they were nobody.

  37. Agree Cesc was a traitor like Stapleton and Van Persie but he did win the F.A. cup in 2005 was added to the first team squad for the unbeaten 2004 season and nearly helped the club win the ultimate European trophy in 2006.
I cannot forgive GG for joining our all time rivals but sometimes you have to enjoy these people while their at the club but if they leave in a bad way remember that they have no place in the modern memory.
I think Cesc was probably more crucial to ARSENAL while he was here than Mesut but Mesut is definitely more ARSENAL.

  38. I can’t remember the exact game but it was a home match maybe against Burnley or Sheffield that was relatively late in Ozils career. We won comfortably enough in the end, the opening goal coming from an Ozil pre-assist where he picked out Kolasinac (?) at the far post who crossed it back for a slighly bumbled Auba finish.

But there was a moment while we were still attacking the Clock End which unfolded right under me. Third tier up, 15 yards over half way. Ozil was in a 50’50 challenge situation right on the touch line (maybe more in his favour, maybe less – I don’t recall) but he pulled out of it. The ‘fans’ around me couldn’t believe it. I thought how sensible of him: nothing was going to come of the situation save a horrific injury. I was glad he lived to tell the tale and spell his magic in later games, many thougth him unworthy of the badge.

I was always Gower, never Gooch, but could understand how they polarised.

Yes i personally think Cesc was far better for us than Ozil. I dont count the trophies but the weight of expectation/application/efficiency. The fact the kid was 20-21 and competing with Xavi and Lampard for best midfielder in Europe. Also personally rate Cesc higher than Ozil as a football personality/intellect/pass master/tempo control. Robin and Cesc : Traitors? Lol….. they may have upset us but this is professional football. You can not expect themt o stay to get butchered while noone form the club does anything to address the issue either via strong transfers in order to ocnivince them to stay or strong personalities in the commnad centres of epl to ensure 50:50 in ref decisions. if you add the lack of protection from fans and media….why would you play for arsenal? for the ‘glory’? …. yes such a great glory bringing you top4 on a plate with chammakh and denislon only for robiie arsenal fan tv and the rest to moan and complain. Take positions 7-10 as standard and good luck with ‘winning the title’ project they started when they pushed wenger out ….’ lets go down a few positions to rebuild and come back and win it’ …yeah sure ..in 2037 …

  42. Kroenke has damaged the club more than cesc and robin. In fact it was Kronke forcing Arsene to sell our best players. Unless you believe that Stan went to Arsene and said : ‘Here Arsene, heres 200m for Lewadofksi Verrati and Alba, we want the premiership!’ …and Arsene said : ‘No im fine with walcott chammakh and gibbs, thanks’
