I’m here again with my deep insight into team selection and tactics. I hope you all appreciate it and learn.
Tonight we play the strongest German team in the Bundesliga. Its clear they are as they are holding up everyone else. In other words they are bottom of the league. On the face of it this should be a straightforward game. A sure recipe for disaster.
Its an impossible task to predict the team but none the less, I’ll have a go.
Ospina will play in goal.
Three centre backs will play, two of them won’t be Koscielny (rested) and Chambers (injured). I suspect Per will start, and I hope he does.
Goodness knows who will play at wingback, I suspect it might be our first choices of Bellerin and Superman(sorry I mean Kolasinac)
Our midfield two will most likely be Elneny and perhaps Jack. Although I’m not convinced Arsene will want to start with Jack just yet, so perhaps Maitland-Niles. It certainly won’t be Rambo, who is excused boots along with Ozil.
Of the front three the only one I’m confident will start is Giroud. Sanchez I think will and also Iwobi.
So that’s my best shot at being Mystic George.
Lets hope for a good game in a good atmosphere giving us a good win.
I’m looking forward to it, a little light relief before the trials of Chelsea come Sunday.
What? Better late than never.

Maybe the cologne fans will inspire ours tonight… imagine the support though they are at the bottom of the table

If I had to make a cast iron, surefire prediction carrying weight and authority about the likely composition of tonight’s team, this would surely be it.
On the other hand — my own laggardly, dog eared, sorry excuse for a team prediction would be your one, except for one amendment — the random use of as many youth team products as possible, largely because I want to see what the future holds for the Arsenal.
And for those singing; Que sera, sera, Whatever will be, will be; The future’s not ours to see, Que sera, sera, What will be, will be – well bollix to all that, sezme!

Agree with you all even those with counter arguments AMN at RWB if Jack starts and Iwobi floating between number 10 and on the right ala Mezut. Theo could switch between left and right wing and Reiss Nelson could see some game time along with Jeff and Chuba. Exciting because of all the possibilities, I love you ARSENAL COYG.

Any chance it’s a 4-2-3-1 with that team selection?

there will be some gnashing of teeth from the ASB over that selection

whats wrong with the selection edu? its a strong enough team to get a victory. it is not entirely a B team and there are olayers stil on the bench to change if result dont go to plan.
i’ll like to think it’s 4-2-3-1 because i’m not convinced iwobi is a central midfielder. niles and elnneny at the base walcott and alexis to flank iwobi with giroud up front.

layksite nothing wrong with the selection but that won’t stop the ASB from having a hissy fit, mainly Iwobi in midfield, Nelson not playing while Walcott does, etc etc etc

Lots of moaning about Wilshire not starting, and people thinking Iwobi has been picked as a holding midfielder.

if we play 4-2-3-1 iwobi wont play as holding midfielder.

I like the line up as it is well balanced should be fun especially with the front three
Iwobi has two good feet and crucially has speed with Elneny possibly behind in a deeper role we have two good passers who put in a shift.
Not sure how Niles will be as he does appear to play in all sorts of positions but if Jack comes in the second half then Iwobi can move to the flanks

Hello everyone, Long time reader great job u guys are doing. Game delayed, who knew arsenal was so popular. Love the lineup, let’s see what iwobi can do, honestly think he can be as good as modric in that position.

howler by opsina, he comes out well to get to the ball over the top but his clearance goes straight to koln, and a shot form 40 yards sales over the stranded opsina into an empty net

Giroud looks up for it, hopefully a goal or two from our olli today

We haven’t got going and what a terrible goal to give away
Means the team is jittery and passing is of
Walcott looks very rusty poor touch positioning
Defence is all over the place and every long ball seems to cause a problem
Sanchez is drifting too deep
Positives
Elneny has been the best player so far
Niles has been steady but not offered much offensively

Köln look like a very poor side

They are very poor
But we just haven’t got going
No pressure on the ball and they are just sitting deep

Walcott in particular very poor
Sanchez even though has been poor still seems to be our likely source of something happening

Lots of fit players
But not match fit and match sharp.

HT: Arsenal 0-1 Koln
a boo boo by Ospina seen him lobbed from 40 yards for their goal
Arsenal been a little off, passes under or over hit, Walcott and Alexis having a private competition to see which can end the most attacking moves.
A slow and nervous performance so far. Iwobi for me our best player so far.

10 new players playing together for the first time, being disjointed is to be expected, a few words from the boss, should do the trick.

Several bad first half cameos to pick from.

Midfield? There doesn’t seem to be one. Iwobi needs to take up more central positions. Drifts to the wings too much. Passing is off. Very static up front.
Giroud to score.

To be honest georgaki there is precious little to cheer
It has been a dire performance no chances created
Poor defensively no spark or inspiration
Only player coming out with any credit is Elneny
The rest look like they have never played together

Iwobi is doing well so far. ElNeny has been good.
Could be a good game for Jack. Need someone to bind the team together.

Ainsley seems very defensive. Not moving forward much. Most of their attacks are coming from Bellerin’s side.
Could maybe swap a central defender for Jack. Bellerin is having to cover a lot of ground. And will probably play on Sunday too. Might be a bit too

Wenger doesn’t do tactics !!!!
The change to bring SuperSead and drop Niles into defence completely changed the game
Holding was running too into blind alleys and loosing the ball in dangerous situations
Koln slightly coming back into it but we seem to have got their measure now
Only thing is if Walcott can control the ball better he would be far more of a threat upfront and he needs to time his runs better
