Will Arsenal Chew The Toffees ?

Everton this afternoon then. A good team playing well.

So what? We are a great team , playing great , in our own stadium. We are stronger in every position including the dug-out.

Everton will come and play football. Good, lets see how that works for them.

Following yesterdays results we can go 7 points clear of second placed Liverpool. I think we will.

Bearing in mind the magnitude of our following 3 games ,  I have no idea what team Arsene will pick, but it will be good one no matter what.

However. a word of caution, if yesterdays results told us anything, its that any team can lose or drop points anywhere. Should we lose we will still be 4 points clear and a draw will see it increase to 5.

Lets hope for a great game of entertaining football and no controversy.

  2. for all those saying it was a good game just think of what it would of been like if webb hadn’t of spoilt it, could of been an absolute cracker that mans a knob and needs to retire….quickly

  4. So ambram and the bus driver have had another falling out and if he don’t buy him a striker for Christmas he’s gonna leave,
    Unless roman sacks him first

  5. Arsenal might have been able or willing to push harder to close-out the game, but we needed to keep something in reserve for Napoli.

  6. Well reading post game reports, most journos and their blog cousins are jizzing over Everton but almost all of them ignored that in the 1st half, in particular, they resorted to a pattern of tactical fouling which went unpunished by Webb and stopped Arsenal from playing. It was only after the 40 min mark when Webb showed Barry a well-earned yellow card, forcing them to play football that we started to show our technical superiority and forced Howard into two big saves.

As usual most of our fans simply suck up the media narrative that Everton was a massively better team when there is compelling evidence that, along with their skills, they tried dirty tactics which worked. This won’t be lost on other teams who will try to emulate especially if the refs are compliant and feel no pressure from the public and our fans to enforce the rules. That is how we were stopped in our last serious title-challenge when in February 2008 Eduardo had his leg brutally broken in two places and not even a yellow-card was shown to Tiny Taylor. Coincidentally we were sitting 5 points on top the table.

  8. From what I saw the result reflected the ebb and flow of the game, although Arsenal had chances to win this this one. Everton, impressive and confident going forward through the middle, resorted to some physical stuff to prevent Arsenal fluidity, Barry specializes in that. It took a gem of a individual genius to level it and Giroo so nearly returned that compliment. Theo had the measure of them; it was a close thing. For us, not a bad result at all in the context of the league position but what can you do when a little bit of genius levels it, nothing, those go either way; for them, a brilliant result. Remember teams always raise their game for us, it’s a great compliment to Arsenal.

  9. morning everyone.
i was not surprise at the result but alittle at the intensity of the game considering the fact that both teams played on wednesday. special mention is mesut whom i expect to be tired the most of all our players. wow! he played all the 90.
everton are a great side, just as stubborn as they used to be but less brutal, yet as dirty.
goaless draw would have been a better result for me bEcause sir szcz and kos deserved a clean sheet for their performance.

  10. i must admit i like webb these days but yesterday he was getting too casual about making decision even when it was obvious mistakes were beig made by him. there was a feeling of overconfidence on his part. for instance, we should have had a pen yesterday when flamster ( i love this guy ) fluffed a shot, the ball was still in and flamini was going for it when jegialka boundled him over. may be he did everything withing his power to keep manure in the race.

if ozil hadnt scored the goal yesterday, it should have been pen and a red because giroud was tripped when he was about to score the goal.

  11. on to napoli.
ramsey ( almost got a goal yesterday ) should be rested. in fact should not travel. rosickyor jack can do a good job in his place. walcott or gnabry can play on the wing to give us pace. and i am almost certain that flamini will start on his first visit back to italy.
monreal should play as well. except if wenger wants gibbs to play immediately to erase any sence of guilt he may habour on the everton goal before the trip to etihad.

  14. webb was awful yesterday, everton should of had five players on bookings by half time. Having failed to stamp authority on the game he then tried to let play go where he should have brought it back ( or went back when play had broken down and booked players ) or he would stop play when he could of continued momentum, truly awful.
As for the media and our own fickle fans, many of whom think were in a relegation scrap by their comments, they need to watch the game again. Evertons first shot on target was not until the 54th minute and that was from outside the box, as many of their shots were, and most of their possession was in non-dangerous areas so lets put to bed the myth they dominated the 1st half.
As far as I remember their goal was their first shot inside the box, very well taken and caught everyone by surprise but more about individual brilliance than team play, especially when you consider lukcrapu was offside in the build up and fouled the boss as well (kos not Arsene).
I think everton are a good side and played well but lets get real a lot of fans worry so much about the ball crossing the half way line they forget how much play and chances we create. I really wasn’t worried until we scored and I think that was more just anxiety.
hopefully yesterday dispelled the other myth that lukcrapu is better than Giroud because at the moment Oliver is in a different league.

  15. and while I am having a moan I have to say something about the support. it is embarrassing the roar and noise and singing after we score but for the rest of the game its just left to a few pockets of supporters. Its not the pictures and if you just want to sit and watch and have no participation apart from moaning then watch it the large amount of streams that are available or on motd. Also wives and girlfriends, or should I say partners not interested in football, leave them at home they really do not need to be there and trying to impress them with your knowledge (or criticism ) should be banned.
Bags, rucksacks , briefcases and in one instance a suitcase should also be banned there is no reason for them to be inside the stadium and even if the club have to put lockers outside they have to go.
lastly to the little fat bloke who sat behind me yesterday in block 12 and whinged, got up went to the piss, come back whinged ,went to the piss then whinged again only to leave early, firstly get your prostate sorted ( and actually you deserve a finger up your arse ) and secondly its a waste you being there so just fuck off.
there rant finished I might suggest some of my thoughts to A.I.S.A for their next meeting with ARSENAL .
oh and the F.A. cup draw was rigged.
