Hello and welcome to this week’s Round-Up.
First up is the news from last week that Santi had won the Arsenal Player of the Month Award for February. Cazorla just pipped Wilshere with 44% of the votes to Jack’s 43%. That is a substantial pile of per cents for just two players. The biggest revelation to come from this story, however, is that 13% of the voting populous have clearly been smoking a lot of crack.
Cazorla also pipped himself to the Goal Of The Month award for his second and winner against Aston Villa. The goal went something like
“Wilshere, oh nice ball. Well done Nacho. Very well done Nacho! AAAARRRGH SANTI AAAAAAARGHHHH!!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!! ”
You know the one I mean.
With no weekend tie for which to prepare, Arsene Wenger came out late last week to talk to Arsenal Player about the up-coming game in Munich. The boss said 327 times in his interview that we have to believe. I think it will take a sit down with Paul McKenna round Derren Brown’s house to convince most people.
But without hope we have nothing; a performance to be proud of would do me, or failing that, a shed-load of luck.
Carl Jenkinson also did an interview which spelt out his love for the Champions League. He spoke about how it’s what you dream of whilst growing up, the music that sends a shiver down the spine, and how he would tell his school friends that he was going to watch a Champions League tie.
What is the Europa League music anyway? Whatever it is, Arsenal fans tend to have plans on Thursday nights and we don’t want that to change next season. We are the very fabric that makes the Champions League what it is. We are the Champions League!
The absence of Arsenal at the weekend forced many Gooners into watching less important teams. Many will have seen Ryo Miyachi’s return for Wigan against Everton on Saturday. After months out injured he was brought on as a sub for some player and was doing pretty well until a good hearty Premier League tackle from behind, sent him crashing into the hoardings and carried away on a stretcher, clearly in considerable pain and distress. Kevin Mirallas’ mother was unavailable to pick him up from the game but is believed to have said he too is “not that type of player.” Mirallas joins the growing list of footballers who will get theirs!
Lastly, and devastatingly, news broke on Monday night that Jack Wilshere had picked up some kind of injury and is a “major doubt” for the away leg against Bayern. Without any official confirmation from the club at that time, theories were being created and dispelled through the night. Some were saying that it’s just ‘mind games’ from the manager while others believe that Wilshere has been left on a waiting-list for surgery as Kroenke is forcing him to go on the NHS.
The truth, as always, will be somewhere in between.
That’s all for this week, thanks for reading.
Up the Arsenal!

but Mr Bradyesque7..the fans want their old arsenal back , the gigantic force/club that was in positions 76 and 49 and 37 in uefa ranking system …… 🙂
position 6? pffffff is that something to be proud of..?..clearly not….we are sick of chaviar and fillets….we want to eat hotdogs on our way to the cc and fa cup final…thats what big clubs aspire to…no ?

Thanks Bradyesque. A lovely goal it was too courtesy of the Malaga Boyz. What a game Santi had that day. What a player. Is he still growing into the tennish role after all that time earlier in his career playing wider? The scary thing is there is more to come.
Flamini’s performance for Milan last night was definitely worthy of comment! Not sure if I should be the one commentating, but it was interesting: A yellow card. A bandage on the ‘ead.
Did anyone spot any passes?
Any interceptions.
A fart that was called a foul?

Slight correction: Carzola was playing that wider role against the Villans, it’s really exciting to see how he takes on the wandering wider role compared to Arshavin or Nasri when they were playing well. And of course to see how he finds space like he did against Villa playing with one of Rosicky or Wilshere, hopefully both.

Rosicky can play more then once every three days. It’s what he did during the Euro’s, he played in most or all of the Czech’s games. Unfortunately he hauled himself off the physio’s couch to play in their last game when he’d picked up a kick and injury the game before, b*ll*xing himself up in the process. Footballers! Typical. I suppose I’d better blame Arsene for footballers all over the world over ignoring their physios.

To the 11 (+1/2/3) who will play today:
Fight.
Fight like this is your last game. Fight to prove the doubters and naysayers wrong. Fight to show heart that will make every team dread the next game against us. Fight while playing the beautiful game.
Play.
Play so well that if you are replaced in the next game, there will be a revolt. Play so well that there will be articles written about your coming of age/rebirth, while you smile amused at the fickle crowd.
Tie your bootlaces and CHARGE ye GUNNERS!!

Hunter, Season ticket holder? Nope. I was distracted by some lovely food & fortunately missed the barca celebrations.

All I want tonight is a huge performance, something to fill the pages of B-7’s weekly roundup.
In the final analysis, tonight is just another step in the transition away from the Van-Nasri-Gas era. This group of players is is still significantly short of the offensive efficiency that we had two-three years ago with Fabregas at the forefront; think of the home game vs Barcelona in 2010 for example. We are just as inconsistent defensively but our attacking threat tended to keep our opponents at bay. For Wenger this is a work-in-progress. From that perspective, tonight will be very interesting.

The only quotes I can see about line up (injuries aside)changes fom Arsene is the goalkeeping position (which is a strange one if you ask me,but then they didn’t interview me for the gk coach job when Bob Wilson hung his gloves up), the rest of it could well be a wind up, lets see who he starts with an hour before kick off and an hour later get behind them,an early goal for us could throw the moggy amongst the flying rats.

It appears that home fans have complained that the Allianz Arena is uncomfortably draughty. Which is a shame. Beautiful stadium, changes colour and everything. But no draught excluders. Poor things.
I reckon Arsenal will put the wind up them tonight.

Suspect it’s a masterful double-bluff he’s pulling on the Germans …

Caught 90 seconds of talkshite drive while waiting at my garage for the cab (on in the background), I know the bbc have their share of numnuts but that station is reaching new depths in broadcasting, the spiteful nature of their views of Wenger? Pffffft. Still a little confused over the goalkeeping situation tonight but whoever plays outfield should be capable of doing us proud, lets cheer them on and try to remember-the mother of all idiots is always pregnant, 5 minutes on twitter will show you that & 90 seconds of Adrian Durham will confirm it. 4-2 to us COYG!
