Well the season be over (for good and bad) and now we’re headed off to the beach to be baked by the sun-hot speculation of the transfer- market arrivals, whilst surfing the waves whilst wondering who will barrel-over and depart.
The fixtures for the new season will be released on the 18 of June at 10am (WET). The Mighty Cannon is back in action on the 23rd of July against AC Milan, kick off 12.30pm western European time, we then play Newcastle and the Spuds in the following days.
The Charity shield between Palace and Liverpool is on the 9th of August.
Take care of yourselves and have a great summer. Its odd that we don’t wish each other any kind of happiness/greatness in any other season?

ian I seen a report that Noni Madueke has actually asked Arsnenal to include him in the squad going on the tour although he is still entitled to be on holidays after being with CFC at the club thingy, the report suggests that Arsenal will not include him.
other reports suggest that the unveiling of Gyokeres will actually be with him on the plane to Asia
but isn’t it so very Arsenal to take so long to announce these 3 signings

Absolutely Ed,
All the media and ITK say medicals on such a day and announcement the day after
I sometimes wonder whether ARSENAL don’t unveil them just to piss everybody off.
I suppose keeping fans on the edge of their seats will keep them quiet too.

yeah Madueke finally confirmed, and laughably it seems a mistake was made on the net when a photo of Mosquera doing his media work for his announcement was put up during the Noni reveal, but still Arsenal have not confirmed Mosquera.
More reports this evening that Gyokeres deal is done and might be revealed tomorrow in time for him to be named in the squad that leaves tomorrow evening for Asia.

one nice thing in the Madueke signing was that former Arsenal youth team and reserve striker Tyreece John-Jules who left us in last summer and spent last season with Crawley Town, but has no club at the moment, and is a close friend of Madueke was part of the entourage brought by Noni to the Emirates and London Colney for the media work.

i’m not a happy man, Shelbourne have signed former Arsenal u21 player Jack Henry-Francis, as I like Shamrock Rovers and would have hoped if he ended up in the League of Ireland it would be with them, but alas he has joined Shels. He was on loan last season with Sligo Rovers and he really was outstanding for them.

The strange thing about Noni was he left the chelski squad just before the final. Surely they could of let him play in that and then do the rest of the business, if there was no rush because he wasn’t coming on the tour.
I know some people will say they didn’t want him to get injured but if anyone was that worried then why did he play in the rest of the tournament.

seems there was some hold up with Mosquera’s move to Arsenal, something to do with paper work or maybe clarification on medication he takes, anyway its now being reported all is sorted, and that he actually traveled with the 30 man squad on the Asia tour. I mentioned a few weeks ago about Arsenal being in for Shamrock Rovers rising stat Victor Ozhianvuna, well this is an update from the Irish Independent newspaper
Arsenal are close to signing Shamrock Rovers midfielder, Victor Ozhianvuna (16), for a record-breaking €2m.
Due to post-Brexit rules, the Irishman would be unable to join the Gunners until he turns 18 in January 2027.
[@independent.ie]
Ozhianvuna actually made his full Rovers debut last night in the FAI cup and scored a great goal in a man of the match winning performance.
All reports suggest that he will stay with Rovers for the next 18 months and continue to be a full part of their first team squad.
He can play a number of positions, he has played wingback, wide midfield, central midfield and attacking midfield for various Ireland youth teams and Shamrock Rovers academy teams and has played wide right and wide left for Shamrock Rovers first team so far. Arsenal are said to be also interested in his fellow Shamrock Rovers first team player Michael Noonan, with man city also on his case.

So it seems both Gyokeres and Mosquera are as good as signed, with both expected to join up with our touring party in Asia, and maybe make their debut at the weekend.
Well with both these signings it leaves our first team squad looking like this
GK- Raya, Kepa, Hein
RB – Timber, White
LB – Lewis-Skelly, Calafiori, Zinchenko
CB – Saliba, Gabriel, Mosquera, Kiwior
CM – Odegaard, Nwaneri, Zumbimendi, Norgaard, Rice, Merino, Vieira, Lokonga
RW – Saka, Madueke, Nelson
LW – Martinelli, Trossard
CF – Havertz, Gyokeres, Jesus
Now that is 28 players, with 25 of them senior players, and 3 U21 players, meaning for the first time in a very long time we currently have actually filled our 25 man EPL squad. Think the 8 home grown players needed would currently be – Raya, Hein, White, Saliba, Rice, Saka, Martinelli, Nelson
So we can but hope that if or should I say when some of these players are shifted out of the club this summer we bring in replacements, and stop leaving ourselves short, and half way through the season be hearing the excuse again of short squad, or small squad, etc etc.
I have actually no faith that we will have a full 25 man senior squad by end of the transfer window, I expect a good chunk of these players to be gone, either permanent or on loan, and they won’t all be replaced, and we will be including our U21 players to make up the numbers and the 8 home grown quota too.

just to add, I think all of the following are not wanted by Arteta as part of the squad this coming season
Hein, Zinchenko, Lokonga, Vieira, Nelson, and I think he would happily see any of Trossard, Martinelli and Jesus leave if it meant bringing in say Eze or Rodrygo
I hope that Kiwior is not sold, well certainly not if we don’t bring in a direct replacement for left side of defence.

Noni Madueke has been reclassified as a ‘homegrown’ player by the Premier League. Madueke had previously been listed in Chelsea’s squad list as recently as February as ‘non-homegrown’. This means that if the proposed sale of Hein goes ahead then we still currently have enough homegrown players

We should of sold Jesus ages ago, certainly before Eddie left. Jesus and Zinchenko definitely raised us to another level when they arrived but we quickly outgrew Jesus and he became a hindrance, slowing up play, coming to deep and not being able to score.
I believe he had a major part in Martinelli’s downfall and lack of progress. The younger Gabriel was totally in awe of the older one and he only looked to pass to him or take on wildly extravagant shots.
Any money we get now would be a fraction of what we would of got a few seasons ago, a mistake we have made over and over again with multiple players.

ian the latest rumors re jesus is that some clubs from Brazil are in for him, but only loan deals with option to buy, not obligation, would be a poor deal from us, but then that is what we have done for a few years now. There is reports that some clubs in Europe are after him too, better chance of getting one of them to at least have an obligation to buy

it really seems that Hein, Zinchenko, Lokonga, Vieira, Nelson and Jesus, possibly Kiwior too, are all surplus to requirements.
For me to rid ourselves of all of these means we would have to at the very least bring in another 3 or 4, which by all reports so far is not on the agenda at all, so don’t be surprised in the coming season if we hear the old tried and tested “small squad” excuse trotted out
