Well the season be over (for good and bad) and now we’re headed off to the beach to be baked by the sun-hot speculation of the transfer- market arrivals, whilst surfing the waves whilst wondering who will barrel-over and depart.
The fixtures for the new season will be released on the 18 of June at 10am (WET). The Mighty Cannon is back in action on the 23rd of July against AC Milan, kick off 12.30pm western European time, we then play Newcastle and the Spuds in the following days.
The Charity shield between Palace and Liverpool is on the 9th of August.
Take care of yourselves and have a great summer. Its odd that we don’t wish each other any kind of happiness/greatness in any other season?
COYG!
there was a lot of talk about arsenal having a spectacular video lined up for the Gyokeres announcement, even talk of Tom Hardy being in it, so it really was a real damp squib of an announcement, a real let down in fact. would have thought with him taking the famed no.14 shirt it would have been so much more, after all its not every big signing takes Theo Walcott’s iconic number shirt.

any one watch the video of Mosquera’s first day at Arsenal, there is a clip or two in it where Arteta seems very keen to let Cristhian’s younger brother, Yulian Andres, know how highly he rates him, the younger Mosquera plays for Valencia’s U15’s and looks even taller than the lad we signed.

Congratulations to the Lionesses and especially all of ARSENAL girls for a great win in the final to bring the European Trophy home again.

Arsenal beat Newcastle 3-2 in our friendly today, Merino, an OG and an Odegaard penalty, (won by Dowman),
Dowman seemingly caught the eye in his 30 minutes on the pitch, and he won the penalty after a great driving run from the half way line
The bad news was Calafiori injured again, we really can’t be thinking of selling Kiwior when Cally is such a sick note.

After all the initial excitement about Viktor Gyokeres‘s signing there is a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that we have gone for the player who will make the biggest immediate impact rather than the best player for ARSENAL football club.
I think this is because we have come second three seasons on the trot and we are worried about the team breaking up if we don’t win big this season.
Viktor‘s resale value will probably be very low and he doesn’t do well in the first season then were in trouble.
I know Mikel wanted his striker in early and Sesko and other deals looked more difficult but as they say patients is a virtue.
I do like Viktor and think he is a great player so I really hope I’m wrong.
Obviously if other new strikers come to the PL and do better than our number 14 then questions will be asked.

starting to look like Arsenal have missed out on Will Wright,(17) as Liverpool have now matched Arsenal’s bid which Salford accept, and its now up to the player as to who he joins. Seeing as Arsenal had a bid accepted over a week ago and did not get the deal completed it casts major doubts on him becoming a gooner.

Saliba was taken off injured today too, and he went straight down the tunnel, he could be seen after the game walking on the pitch with a bit of a limp.
Timber and Gabriel not in full training as of yet.

I think the hype over Max Dowman is a wee bit mad and over the top, people are losing their minds about this 15 year old, I’d advise people to give the lad time and space and we should all lessen our expectations of the lad, I really can’t see him winning more than five or six Ballon d’Or trophies during his career.

Sunderland have agreed a fee with Bayer Leverkusen for Granit Xhaka.
So ol Ten harg is not a merry ol sole and his board don’t give a shit what he says. Not a great vote of confidence.
As for Granit I obviously hope he does well although it does seem a strange move considering how close he was to his home town and family etc.

Whoever thought it might be a good idea to play the spuds pre-season must have been mad.
Yes you want your warm ups to be tough games but a game you can’t lose and will be rough is surely pure madness.
Its going to be difficult to rotate and give everyone a go especially the younger players when there is so much at stake.
They have just won a trophy, have a new manager (better than any they have had recently) and most spuds can’t remember when they were looking forward to a season so much.
What a terrible time to play them.

Arsenal lost to spurs today in Hong Kong, 1-0, it was a forgettable performance, more of the paint by numbers football. Saka picked up an injury, as did Trossard, and we had Kepa, Timber and Gabriel all missing out through injury too. Gyokeres and Musquera made thier debuts as second half subs.
Raya fucked up for their goal, I wonder has the pressure of him now having a real rival for his spot put a bit of pressure on him as he has made a few mistakes in preseason so far.

As I said before the game this was a no win game and a terrible decision by the club to pick this fixture.
Apart from the increased injury risk, it also meant the manager was tied to a certain extent that he just wouldn’t of been against anyone else.
They haven’t beaten us for ages and that obviously plays a phycological effect before matches. That has now gone and the spud player’s will feel easier about playing us.
To give an advantage up in such a way was frankly irresponsible.
It also brought up the question of us failing to score again in tight games especially as the spuds were playing a high line and our only real answer was to get Raya to kick long.
imagine the fun Denis, Rob P, Mezut, Cesc, Jack and a myriad of our players from the past would of had with that high line.

seems the trialist who played 30 minutes for Arsenal U21’s yesterday was 19 year old english winger Archie Stevens who was with Glasgow Rangers, he had a loan spell with Scottish Championship side Dumfermline Athletic last season and is now a free agent. He played one senior game for Rangers, making his debut in a scottish cup game as a 16 year old.

reports that Fabio Vieira is close to joining Stuttgart, and that Reiss Nelson is close to joining Fulham. Its suggested that the Nelson deal will at best be a loan with an obligation to buy, but that its more likely a loan with a buy option. Fulham are said to also want to sign Zinchenko.
Glasgow Rangers and several clubs in Spain and others are in talks to sign Karl Hein.
A couple of clubs in Brazil have enquired about Jesus’s availability, again it seems loan with buy option or obligation.

This window is probably unique in the amount of strikers moving either within or into the PL.
For the ones who don’t do well, or as well as the others, there will be a lot of scrutiny on their clubs and the recruitment team.
Gyokeres seems Jonny Hartson esc at the moment. I am sure he will become sharper with time, but because the season is apon us and some big games come early, he won’t have long to prove a favourite or deadwood.
