A Brentford Inconvenience.

Hello and how are?

Saturday the 12th of April and premier league week 32, sees the Mighty Cannon host Pocahontas’ local side, Brentford FC. Kick off at the Emirates is at 5.30pm western European time.

Well, now we must tackle the filling between the Real Madrid champions league sandwich, that being our friends Brentford from the western realms of London. And now that we are slowly descending from our collective seventh heaven of victory over Real Madrid, I’m sure we are all hoping for a) a comfortable win and b) all players coming through the game without injury, as all eyes are still on next Wednesday…

Brentford are in 12th place with 42points and I’m sure are safe this year. Head to head we are seven wins, one loss and one draw. Earlier this season we beat them 3-1 and I suppose we could expect something of the same, but as always who knows? They did hold Chelsea to a 0-0 draw in their last match, so we can’t be too complacent.

Arsenal have been given a 59. 5% chance of winning by our chums at Statto HQ and Brentford only 18%.

That’s it, no frills today. Take care of yourselves.

  1. I was hoping we would rest the entire squad for this game.

I would imagine there will be some rotation and that means a victory here will be difficult.

Those who didn’t play any part in the week will surely make appearances today.

Its a nice sunny day in north London today and that’s when we often have our best afternoons COYG.

  4. delighted to see Henry-Francis on the bench, would love to see him get his AFC debut, he had a great loan last season with Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland, where he constantly stood out as a class above all others in the league. Was surprised he did not get a loan deal in say the championship this season, but some rumors that AFC would not loan him cos his contract is up in the summer.

    Partey with our goal,

33 points dropped in our 32 league games so far this season, its not been a title challenge.

10 points behind liverpool, 6 points ahead of Forest with 6 to play

  15. just the two wins from our last seven league games, that is woeful. Unlike midweek in the CL we had so little intent once again, it was risk averse football, like so much of the EPL is, its a myth that the EPL is the best league in the world, its nothing other than a marketing soundbite.

  18. The trouble with today’s game was we had to win it in the first half or put eleven behind the ball.

It was always going to be a struggle having to make so many changes after five seasons of restrictive rotation.

In the end, the title had long gone and the CL is the remainder of the season.

  19. So big fat Angela has now lost 17 PL games this season and the remaining six are not easy either.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more depressing manager and to be honest his press conferences should come with a mental health warning. That’s obviously from a perspective of an opposition supporter, I can imagine what agony the spuds go through.

He is in the fantastic position of being very highly paid to be included in a sport which he loves and yet he moans and moans and moans. How many people can say they are in a job they actually like and are extremely well compensated for it.

ARSENAL have had more players missing from game time than him, he nearly has a fully fit squad and still his side is getting spanked by bottom of the table teams. In fact only the three teams in the relegation positions have lost more games this season.

Of course there’s a million excuses he has, injuries, agenda’s and the latest fantasy a leak in the dressing room. Of course he said he had worked out who that was so presumably Wolves didn’t know his tactics today. On today’s performance maybe he should start leaking his tactics himself.

I had an idea he was going to miserable when everything was going well, he got his own song, Robbie Williams posted a video singing it, despite being a Port Vale supporter, and he still winged.

If he comes on my screen now I turn it over to the news and the terrible realities of the world that football is supposed to take us away from. For all our sakes I would implore Levy to get rid of him in double quick time if it wasn’t for the laughs he gives me every weekend watching spurs lose.

  20. newcastle only 7 points behind us now with a game in hand and they have to play us too, so staying in 2nd spot might be tight. #

a top 5 cl place finish should be very achievable as some of those in that chase have to play other too so points have to be dropped by some of them. And we have a 9 point gap on 6th, so probably just the two wins needed for a CL place, 5 wins from our 6 games gurantees 2nd spot for the third year in a row, don’t think any side has done that before
