Hello one and all.
Tonight we play Dinamo Zagreb at home, a game we want to win in order to get a reduced fixture list after the league stage. So although a win win not guarantee a top 8 finish, but it will take us a good way down that road.
There is some good news on the injury front with Ethan Nwaneri and Riccardo Calafiori available, not that that will spare us from Thomas Partey playing at RB. When was it a law that you can’t play two CBs that play with their left foot? I’ve seen dozens of pairing that were both right footed, so why not two left footers? I’m sure that there will be loads of experts shouting “passing angles and patterns of play” as they read this, but come on, do me a favour. The solution should be to disrupt the team as little as possible, not play Timber , Partey and Rice all out of their preferred position?
Anyway, this is a game we should win at a canter, and if it were me I would be rotating and have a good number of our over flogged first choice players on the bench for emergencies. But what do I know? Well actually I do know that Arteta will get his whip out and flog them some more.
That’s it folks, enjoy the game.
Pedantic George.
when it comes to having two left footed CBs Arteta has his own letter of the law, he calls it no other choice but to play Partey at right back
on to the game, the only player I know of that has played for both club was Eduardo, the man whose maiming cost us a league title and I’m told it was the deciding factor in Alex Hleb deciding to get out of the EPL, he was one of the unlucky players who seen up close the aftermath of the assault on Eduardo and his foot hanging off, he had gone to his team mates aid and that is no sight for most people.
laughably Arteta has not dismissed bringing Vieira back from his loan to make up numbers in our squad, suppose Nelson too could be recalled if we can’t bring in the forwards needed. On that lots of rumors that Arsenal are in talks to sign Sesko a big raw striker at RB Leipzig

Tonights game appears easy however they have not been beat in their last three CL away games.
They have had a month’s winter break and have a new manager. Mikel and his team have little knowledge on what the new manager will have up his sleeve.
Of course we should win this game but I would get the game won and have the luxury of rotating in the final game of this stage.
After the frustration of the weekend I have come home from work exited about tonight and just want to see us flow, and win of course, COYG.

ha ha ha the team is announced and Kiwior and Gabriel are the CB’s, so no other choice doesn’t apply tonight

well maybe a different opposition allows more flexibility of fixed opinions. Interesting to see one of the chief Wenger out cheerleaders, and initially a passionate supporter of Arteta, is now reverting to type and talking about red zones and training injuries!

Arsenal are almost certain of a top 8 finish, we are 3pts and 7 goals or more ahead of several teams outside the top 8, so would take a big turn around
man city need a win in their last game to have any chance of makign the top 24, a draw or defeat will see them fail to make the knock out stages
celtic play aston villa away in their last game and a draw will probably be enough to get them through

not exciting indeed but very comfortable and useful in the context of the season.

Kai Havertz in his last two seasons across all comps for Arsenal: ◎
2023/24: 51 games, 14 goals ◉
2024/25: 30 games, 14 goals
It’s taken him 21 fewer games to match his tally from last season.

Ayden Heaven was at old Trafford last night. He looks like the latest youth talent to turn down a contract and go elsewhere, obviously in this case following Obi Martin.
