In this #UncensoredArsenal review of the FA Cup tie featuring Arsenal v Liverpool, Shotta and Blackburn George note that while it is difficult for #gooners to come out publicly and admit it, there is no denying Arsenal are in a slump. While Arsenal are an energetic, pressing team especially in the first half of games, it is clear opposing teams have sussed them out and the Gunners are finding it harder and harder to score goals as the game wears on. They recommend a rethink by Arteta while fans need to stand united behind the team if we are to at least make top-4 this season.

AI M,
While I agree with your sentiments and think there also other problems, in the short term we are still a good team and top four should be a given.
Villa and spuds may not last the season and because of the charge from Brighton, manure, Newcastle, Chelsea, in the second half of the season points will be shared around.
Long term I think we will a cup and top four side as we have been for the last few decades.

I agree with Ian, that’s what we were and what we will become, the difference being the spend should now give us more and the football was fun to watch, now it isn’t.

Unfortunately, and I may be proved wrong here as I quite often am, it looks like the Edu/Arteta process we were asked to trust in has reached a ceiling.
Now actually it’s a pretty high ceiling but no higher than the Arsene era (even the back end) so if we have spent so massively to stand still you have to ask, in the words of the famous wob movement, “where’s the fucking money gone”

i see edu done an interview about the “process” at Arsenal, and its a whole load of waffle, even said that its not about being in the CL, its only about making the club better each year, not a single word about winning anything, just getting better and bringing in better players.

“bringing in better players” cheque book football is unsustainable.
It is also wasteful and immoral. This is why our academy is ignored.

In Normal circumstances, palace at home after we have a good break and they have played midweek, would mean an easy win.
Today however with our current form of one win in seven, our lack of goals and our fragility at the back (even at our normally strong area of dead ball situations) means today takes us back to a start of the season game.
Today we just have to win to avert the slide, which considering the amount of injuries Palace have to important players should be alot easier than it could of been.
Of course palace are well organised, have got a draw at the Etihad and have never lost in eleven games under todays ref Paul Tierney.
I do think we will be energised today, the fast tempo and movement should be back and that will be enough to put palace to the sword and come away with a comprehensive result COYG.

5-0 with only six shots on target. Two goals from set pieces, one breakaway, and two goals when the game had opened up and palace had put their youngsters on and finished the low block.
Going forward we need to find a way around the low block that doesn’t rely on set pieces but for now the most important thing was the win and the goals scored was an absolute bonus.
Trossard and Martinelli scoring and ESR getting minutes was also fantastic news.
This was just what we needed and buys us time for Forest in ten days time. Yes we still need to be quicker in the final third and the decision making needs to be better but none of that matters today as getting the three points, starting momentum and confidence was the three tick boxes and they were all very much achieved.

Hertha Berlin agree permanent deal to sign Bradley Ibrahim from Arsenal. Player in Berlin with agent Alan Redmond from Roc Nation.
◉ Contract until 2027.
◉ Arsenal will have matching rights.
◉ Healthy sell-on clause + add-ons for appearances.

TBH, I think the academy is a pure moneyball now. Generally players are not supposed to progress but are supposed to be sold to supplement the incoming players pot.
Gone are the days when we could support a side made up of youth players.
LikeLike
the thing about that ian is that we would need to be selling one of the academy players for big money on a regular basis, but its all nominal and sell on clauses, like bradley ibrahim, and now lino sousa. Rumor is that newcastle in for ACD.
I don’t think anyone could blame any of our academy players if they leave us, our manager clearly does not want to play them, any of them, he is not brave enough to play any of them. Walters has been a sub 18 times, yet to make his debut, remember we can use 5 subs per game, but our manager has not been willing to debut the lad.
We had idiots tell us the CL game when 5-0 up was not the right time, the dead rubber CL game was not the right time, the CC game was not the right time, the FAC game was not the right time, the EPL is too strong to throw a youth in, so there is never a right time, well not when your manager doesn’t look for it. Arteta is not brave enough
There is always an excuse not to play a youth, its an important EPL game, all EPL games are difficult, CL points matter, its the FA Cup, its the league cup, blah blah blah, the plain truth of it is that to play a youth player you have to want to, Arteta clearly does not want to, despite all his bullshit thin squad talk. The evidence is there, not just this season, he plays senior players his signings no matter the form, players carrying injury, ahead of the youths.

Omar Hutchinson’s brother has said all of that Ed and the fandoms are criticizing him for it.
In reality it’s difficult to argue against his point especially when other PL seem to have no problems finding minutes for their youth players.
The Liverpool game was a glaring gulf between the clubs attitude towards youth. Level pegging in the cup, away from home and with only 15 minutes to go Klopp throws on to youngsters and wins the game, while we are hesitant to put on any subs at all.
Since then they have line ups which have included several academy players and then put on four academy players from the bench.
Is our academy really that shit, I don’t think so it’s all about attitude.

difficult game today, could be the difference between second and third in the table at the end of the season.
That’s not just the three points today but more about momentum now and confidence for the big games to come especially at home.
These are normally exciting games between these two clubs so COYG.
