A Miracle at the Bridge.

In this #chelseafc match review by #UncensoredArsenal, Blackburn George is convinced this was one of the worst performances by the Gooners for the season while Shotta is impressed by Arsenal’s fightback from 2-goals down. George is concerned that inconsistency by Arsenal will harm their chances of winning the league. Both concur that Declan Rice was the Man-Of-The Match contrary to conventional opinion in favour of Bukayo Saka. Finally they offered thoughts about the goalkeeping situation and the likelihood of David Raya remaining as #1.

  11. It is no secret my admiration for Eddie, I think he is the best natural striker at the club and his lack of minutes has held him back.

Man United have now lost as many Premier League games at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as they did during his 26 years at the club 😳

  16. over the weekend Shamrock Rovers won their 4th League of Ireland in a row, former Arsenal youth/reserve player Stephen Bradley, who was for a time Arsenal’s chief scout in Ireland, is their manager, he becomes the first manager to win 4 League of Ireland titles in a row. Its not clear yet if he will stay with Rovers, as he wants assurances that the owners will fund the new signings he wants for next season.

  21. That was a strange game, having played reasonably well first half and West Ham coming off 1-0 up without having a shot let alone one on target, we managed to play completely shit in the second half.
We didn’t get any better with the first team subs coming on.
It honestly looked like Mikel said to them at half time “for fucks sake we don’t want to get through in this competition start playing shit”

  22. Arsenal will be getting another one of those meaningless apologies from the PGMOL after that shit show from the officials in our defeat at Newcastle tonight

  23. Arteta sounds furious. Not at our best, too many key players injured, but you see officiating like that, got it wrong 3 times in one incident with every camera angle going, then, the elbow, happens on a regular basis with this team, and can only conclude something is very wrong.
Guess the VAR refs will get a nice gig in Saudi after that , seems Saudi is the place to be for the beautiful game

  24. Did you actually listen to what was said by the VAR people?

They said that they could not decide one way or another in respect of any of the 3 points so they could not overturn the goal.

Could you see if the ball was over the line? No.

Could you see if the ball hit the Newcastle player or the Arsenal defender? No

Could you say for sure that it was a foul? No.

    So they were right.

Please, please stop blaming the refs every time.

We created nothing and deserved nothing.

Why can you simply say, as against West Ham, we did not play well and deserved nothing?

    Yes, it is me again.

The reason why I do not come here often and comment even less, is because too many contributors are obsessed with the refereeing, convinced that the refs are biased (tell me one club’s fans who don’t say the same) and blame them for every loss and refuse to accept that we can and do play badly and deserve the lose or draw.

See I have aroused the defender of the indefensible, of whom I seem to have some strange power over.
Jjgsol you must have been waiting patiently for my appearance! Whatever does it for you, sweetie.
But if you can’t ever blame the refs, how come they keep having to apologise, and sack Lee Mason ?

  27. This was my first comment for months during which you have no doubt made many contributions.

If you think it appropriate to give an insulting response rather than a measured and proper one that is up you.

Undoubtedly the quality of refereeing in gemetal, affection all clibs, leaves a lot to be desired but, with respect, the sacking of one referee has no relevance to whether or not the decision last night was correct, whilst the answer to my 3 questions was.

The teams lack of ability against the better teams is more to the point.

Did they create any chances throughout the game? No.

That is the reason they lost, not the Var decision.

  28. There is no doubt that there is a conflict of interest and that VAR has over complicated the beautiful game and seems to have increased the element of human error whether intentionally or otherwise.
Equally I feel that Arteta has also over complicated the beautiful game by some of his decisions and the fact remains as gritty and as hard working as we were, we just didn’t create enough. This season we have only had glimpses of the free flowing football of last season. Injuries of course continue to play their part.
Finally, I always think that interviewing managers after a game simply fuels a media frenzy which can be counter productive to the matters raised.
Of course it makes good T.V. which in turn increases revenue which in turn has massively over complicated the beautiful game.

  29. bradybunches the question is why is it only in the EPL that there is a major problem with VAR, the EPL has had pro refs for over 20 years, and all its done is made them think they are stars, and their ego gets in the way of doing their job. Several former refs, including the likes of Dean and Clatttenburg, have admitted that they when on VAR didn’t correct the on field mistake made by the Ref cos they are mates, they didn’t want him getting any more stick cos he was having a poor game, they didn’t want to be blamed or have REF blamed for ruining a big game, and all sorts of stupid stuff like that, some journos have even reported “unnamed” refs have told them that when on VAR they didn’t call the ref on mistakes cos they were the big name guys, or they were Riley favorites, or the worst of the lot, they were afraid that the Refs would be so petty that they would go out of their way when roles reversed to show them up by highlighting any mistake they might make. Ego, ego and more ego is the problem with the PGMOL

The big question I keep asking is why the clubs have kept accepting the failures of the PGMOL, but thinking about it, if fellow refs are afraid of revenge by other refs, then what would these refs do to individual clubs highlighting their mistakes – “a disgrace to your federation” comes to mind, and how if anything things got worse for us on the ref front.

But why are clubs not standing as one, and demanding change, and it has to start with managers admitting VAR got a big decision in their clubs favor wrong, and not only bringing up VAR when it goes against them.

  30. Jjgsol, VAR is absolutely the reason Arsenal lost the game. Without whatever those things in the VAR studio were doing, it would have been a draw. Newcastle, despite being at home and state run created precious little.
Good on the club for finally raising these issues via a statement from the club . The way VAR has been run in this league has been a shambles
And the club and their legal team will be well armed with footage, and apologies from the PGMOL to back up their correct, courageous and much needed statement issued today.
Who knows, might even result in stopping refs from greater Manchester officiating City or Utd, at a push, may result in refs no longer doing matches in the country who own City, then officiating for city the following weekend. I am guessing they work in Saudi as well.
But heh, let’s pretend nothing wrong with refereeing in this league , can’t be blaming refs can we, just ask the Italians
