A Stroll In Bournemouth.

In this MatchDay-7 @uncensoredarsenal9715 podcast Shotta and Blackburn George note that Arsenal strolled to an easy victory over Bournemouth demonstrating they have developed into a better quality team than they were 2-3 years ago. The Gooners were superior in all statistical categories. Personifying the qualitative improvement at Arsenal over the past 18 months has been the performances of hybrid left-back/floating midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko who is highlighted in the podcast.

  1. Please remember when making comments about incorrect decisions, VAR isn’t getting anything wrong and never has. It’s the old country gentleman fuckwits who cannot operate a simple system.
The latest case with Darren England stating he didn’t know what decision the on field officials give suggests he wasn’t watching the match or maybe his assistant, cootes the man who drew the lines incorrectly against us, was sucking him off.

  4. Good to see Tommy come in as Ben has looked a bit off the pace in the last couple of games.
Personally I would of given Saka a rest after the amount of knocks he has picked up recently.
Trossard definitely deserves his start on the other side and all three of our attack may continually swap and switch about.
It would nice to be able to rest some of the important players early if we are ahead with city in mind COYG.

  5. Jesussssssssssssssssssssssssssssss 1-0 to the Arsenal, we had been second best so far but Saka pounced on a loose pass by Lens and fed it to Jesus to score

  12. A very poor result yes, but I didn’t think the performance was that bad.
The game started with chances at each end but after we scored we started to get control. The mistake from Raya and the excellent two passes and shot before it hit the net totally knocked us out of our stride.
The second half was much the same with us building slowly and Lens trying to counter quickly.
I thought whoever got the second goal would win and so it proved with them scoring just after Tommy nearly scored.
The disappointing thing was the response although Mikel threw on a load of subs the tempo and movement of the ball never increased until the last couple of minutes.
Sorry to keep banging on about Eddie but he is the best poacher in the squad and he should of been on earlier if not starting. Jesus didn’t have a bad game and he took his goal well but he is greedy, rarely passes, isn’t clinical and can’t hold the ball up.
When you lose the speed of Martinelli and Saka then Eddie has to be on.

  13. A draw in both Away games at Lens and Seville would be good results.
Aways a shame to lose away after taking a lead.

The blustering blaggers out there pre-empted Saka’s injury with their nonsense that he must be some kind of superhuman mutant.

Very weird statements considering the decision to start him comes straight from the “push Partey back into the pitch when he is injured, into a NLD…” handbook of idiocy (the player hasn’t really recovered from that injury)

but then again I suppose that is asking for too much from people who couldn’t acknowledge the impact of broken legs for footballers, who tried to hound out Ozil & Xhaka, who clearly and evidentially do not know Football. Feel sorry for their gullible listeners.

  14. Saka in the England squad.
Might be in the squad Sunday.

And although he has been one of the best footballers on the pitch since before Pepe’s debut (for those who have eyes and not memes to click to) I do believe there is decent cover for him in this squad and even if it’s Martinelli out there is no need to cry this match as it did 2010-17 pits the two best football teams against each other.

Nelson and ESR both have so much good will from fans there’s nothing to be afraid of.

  16. Reya playing himself out of the first eleven here. Conflicts of interest with coaches & agents. It’s a messy situation and there is no need for it at the club that sacked GG for blushing by comparison.

Arteta’s belief and I distance that there are no No.1 keepers in his squad cost the club a World Cup winning keeper previously. Dumb then, dumber now,

this call is Dumb & Dumber. Along with the fitness management it is not unreasonable to flag up the stupidity that led to the club losing the best keeper on the planet due to coach having a bigger ego than the players.

Can give credit where it is the and it is great to see the two great signings Trossard & Jorginho starting. CBs also looking to drawer.

a poor quality scrappy game, but a win is a win is a win

arteta said trossard felt something in his hamstring, that is why he was taken off

saka should be withdrawn from the england squad seeing as he was unfit to be in the our squad today

  20. Arteta also said that the “medical staff were trembling” when Martinelli was thrown back into the cauldron when still in the red zone. This time the gamble paid off.
Like the people who understood why gambling was banned from sport over a century ago but not the progressive Neo-victorian Neo-Not Labor types: I’m not a fan of the gambling.

I did like to see a starting midfield of Jorginho & Rice for this match. Didn’t stand out as obviously as the CBs but I thought they did very well.

Perhaps against some teams especially at Home you can play another forwardish player at 8, it could be foolish not to. but surely that is the best midfield pair in this squad? As many here said during the pre-season of 22/23, this is a good squad.

  23. Arteta does deserves some serious praise imo
the subs all combining for the goal & it was a nice pass from Partey to catch out the City defenders. Some would say it was a lucky route one style hoofed pass but route one passes are not usually picked up by an attacking LB.
Partey is a player who has understandably not been at his best at times when asked to play through injuries. Today it’s easy to understand why a coach would call and take a risk on the “senior” Martinelli for this match but I hope this victory encourages Arteta to not rush back Saka and use the others in the squad against less scary opponents.

the back five/six with the stand out performances?. the centre backs especially. Incredible stats for a game against City.

I believe it’s a poor call to give Reya the No.1 shirt too early because without a fight he’s playing under pressure not with confidence in these key games early on before he has settled.
On the big plus side watching the substitute right footed left back who is also a good centre back win the header in the opposition box late on to set up a winner after a good defensive performance against Pep’s Monster City is a great moment for the coach highlighting some of the impressive qualities & the flexible football styles in Arteta’s squad.

  24. With the churn of knocks and injuries I hope Arteta continues to improve his fitness management and I suppose it’s an easy guess that he will with experience.
And not play either Partey or Jorginho when the have a knock, especially when the other is sitting fresh & in decent form on the bench!
If Jorginho is the backup hopefully he keeps feeding him enough minutes so that he has some form when required.
