Arsenal Vs Fulham – A disappointing Draw

Shotta and Blackburn George express. their disappointment at the points dropped at home by Arsenal in their draw with Fulham. The duo explore what is lacking in the team’s performance highlighting an unsettled defense with Partey playing an unusual right-back role and Gabriel, last year’s top defender, not being used. George was particularly concerned that Haavertz is not living up to expectations and how his big price tag might weigh on Arteta’s team selection going forward. But there were some bright spots especially the brilliant job by Nketiah and Fabio Vieira with the latter our Man of the Match (MOTM)

  1. Both teams are not where they want to be, both teams have big issues to sort out and both teams can certainly play better.
From a neutrals point of view a draw would probably have been a fair result but I’m not neutral so I was over the moon we stuffed one over on the cheating mancs and come away with three points
The fact that the ref give them loads of decisions and their manager still had a cry up at the end made it even sweeter.
Even the usually biased Roy Keane and Gary thought he old ten baldy was wrong, excellent entertainment at a time when I thought my enthusiasm couldn’t get any higher

  3. For some wannabe tactico beard-stroking: Rice’s execution is almost flawless, but he’s still adapting. Reckon our football will improve as he meshes with his teammates and starts to make more, I dunno, Arsenal-style choices.

One moment that stood out was the chance of a counter in the 2nd half. Saka (?) needed it to feet but Rice passed it into space like Bowen might have wanted.

As it is we’ve got this indispensable fulcrum who’s still new, and on a different wavelength, which is natural. You’ll know when there’s harmony because it will look effortless. All season it’s been a bit forced. Nobody’s fault, just part of the process, and the only way it improves is to stick with it.

It’s more of an issue than Havertz even, as Havertz will always be on the margins, drifting and showing up in interesting positions. Rice is clearly meant to be the team’s personality, and we’re at odds with ourselves for now.

  4. Rice said himself in his post match interviews that he sees himself as more of a 6 then an 8.
A throwback to 20 years ago a real D**Mer but rest easy arsenal fans we are not watching scotty Parker. if he can contribute like yesterday it doesn’t matter if his finishing or crossing is not quite on the same level as the box to box Xhaka he has other more sixish traits as seen in those two or three tackles.
Perhaps the plan was always to play him with two eights. Partey not sold this season would’ve been too much churn in the squad.

  5. I suspect Arteta has been at war with agents again. I’d hoped that he had learnt to better use his limited energy but: he loves it. Clearly.

Fingers crossed the poker game with Gabriel works out for the club for a change and arteta’s Ego does not cost the owner billions again.

Pepe? What a story. Perhaps the Don can write us a book on gilded paper. Audiobook read by El Tel Venebles and GG. As said above he’s not a bad player but as a record signing we can Lol at the Experts who could never call that one out. Funny as ****.
