Arsenal tip up in Moscow taking a 4-1 advantage form the first leg. Well in a normal week you might conclude that should be enough, but this week in Europe seems anything but normal.
With Mkhitaryan out for the foreseeable and Xhaka tucked up in bed with a sniffle I think the team will be
Cech
Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal
ElNeny, Ramsey Wilshere
Welbeck, Lacazette, Ozil.
I don’t have much more light to shed for you ,so talk among yourselves, after all, that is what the site is here for.
Enjoy the game.

This game not altering my impression Xhaka may well be our main man now

If we do not get a goal the risk of a late penalty is EXTRAORDINARY

we have struggled big time since the first goal, which was almost 45 minutes of play ago. Not been a good performance at all

amazed that jw was on the plane, let alone on the pitch. for sure, young Alex must have felt shit…esp given the necessary subs. 3 mins after jw is subbed, we score. hope that it stays that way.. keep the faith.

Lacazeete looks and probably is a bit unhappy but substitution completely justified. Wasn’t his night at all and no signs it would pick up. Good sub

Welbeck had very good cup final, and some other top moments like Old Trafford and Leicester winner but that is surely most important contribution to date.
The turn was fricking beautiful.
Should shut up as game still live but the fecking relief!

Very much enjoying Elneny taking control of midfield in the latter stages of the match.
How about that?

FT: CSKA 2-2(3-6 on agg) Arsenal,
we wobbled more than a wobbly jelly, but got there in the end, semi finals here we come.
poor in defense, awful on both goals, passing off in midfield and not enough thrust in attack.
Welbeck the goal scoring hero for us, also worked his ass off all game, Ramsey with the second goal, but Elneny easily our man of the match, and got two assists, sadly Wilshere was awful, and Mustafi had another less than solid game
semi final line up
Arsenal
Atletico Madrid
Marseille
Salzburg

Never in doubt? yeah right. LOL.
True though. It was never over till it is over as the final scoreline shows…

Another feeling of relief… that’s it, just relief.
I think there is a morale problem in the camp. I have never seen such an extended period of poor performances.
But we live in hope.

you won’t hear this from the media or in the AFC blogs, but Arsenal the only first leg winners not to lose tonight.

So many think Arsenal exist in a bubble where it’s always expected of them to be perfect. Nevermind playing against a team with as much desire to win.
In this rather interesting week of football, Roma overturned their result vs Barça, Juve nearly overturned theirs but just couldn’t keep the focus few minutes more.
Even tonight Olympic Marseille and Salzburg overturned their 1st leg deficits vs RB Leipzig and Lazio respectively. Sporting had Atletico Madrid chewing nails till the very end.
But its Arsenal the malcontents, aided and abetted by a prejudice media and so-called legends who are quiet when we win, want to be special by turning all comers over at will. As far as I and I’m sure most positive Arsenal fans are concerned – Arsenal got the job done! UTFA!
PS: Aaron Ramsey is a fucking beast! Sign him up for life.

Thank you Danny, superb goal at a vital time in a generally poor performance.
Got there in the end, but that was scary at times

we improved when we brought on Chambers, took off Jack and put Elneny back into midfield.

I don’t think Wilshere was drunk, I just think he was not a hundred per cent at the start as we could tell after the interlull injury and struggling after the minor niggle he picked up early on.

Phew our quality shone through at last
Credit to Wenger the substitutions made all the difference. Despite his poor miss the pace of Iwobi immediately made an impact running from deep. Going 3 at the back neutralised their wing.
Elneny what is there left to say what a game from the dreaded lad! Two top quality assists never stopped running he reminds me of the dream team we had, the Gilberto’s and Lauren’s.
Danny was excellent two well taken goal and could have another never really put a foot wrong.
Ramsey even though he didn’t have his best game still scored- signs of quality player.
Monreal had a torrid time in the second half and Kos/Mustafi had some heart stopping moments.
But Cech and Wilshire were poor. Cech did not inspire confidence rookie mistakes to parry the ball in play. Wilshire is not fit definitely and hence not performing. He is desperate to go to the world cup and I think he his pushing himself too hard. He is better than what we are seeing but if he isn’t careful he is going to do himself major damage.

I beg to differ.
Mo’Neny MOTM. Tireless.
Wonder what the temperature was.
We had to fight for that victory.
Kudos to entire team for the 2nd half display.
Without Mkhi, Iwobi’s really going to have to step up.
Our first SF in almost a decade.
Can’t wait to see who we get.
I’m guessing Atletico.
We’ll be ready.
Congrats Positivistas.
We march on.

Jack has played a lot of games lately, sadly he has not always been used to that, fatigue and maybe niggles taking their toll

At 2 – 0, I was in a full-on panic! Thank goodness for that useless lump Welbeck and the average Ramsey for saving our bacon tonight! We march on in Europe and for the sake of my blood pressure, I hope they don’t leave it so late to get the job done next time.

Having sneaked a peak at the other games I think the team I would rather avoid is Salzburg. They look like a team who will win the lottery everytime they okay. Atletico are lucky to go through they were poor. I would be happy if we got Marseille despite them demolishing Lazio their style of play would suit us.

Well I am happy to help the media say it. Arsenal is actually the only first leg winner that didn’t lose. there… have said it… its not that hard I think.
So the other side also wanted to win… well then we upped our game and did the needful for winning football games, scored goals. Well done to the lads and congrats one and all.

or maybe Mandy he is trying to make sure he does not get injured and miss out on his bosman move
although for me I think his latest downturn in form is cos he is down cos his chances of making the England world cup squad are very slim.

i did laugh at these comments on the BBC live text
Our own version of comeback indeed
Kenni: Arsenal sure had its own idea of a comeback.
Ankur: Never in doubt.
David: Never thought Arsenal would lose but why do they make it so difficult? Some of us are into our 70’s and don’t need this stress.

MO definetly MOTM even before he’s two assists. end to end side to side and even settled the side down when he went into the back three.
Before everyone goes on about bad defending, I think actually it was about decision making and execution in the final third. We had chances to score before they did and throughout the match our breakaways were poor as they have been all season.
When the hacks report on this tomorrow they wont say we actually had the oppertunity to score an absolute hatful tonight and they actually didnt have that many.
We only had to score one in 90 minutes we did that, they had to score at least three they didn’t end of.
