So ,Arsene Wenger is proven right once again – nothing new there says you ?
Last season the malcontents took umbridge when AW said, when discussing how LCFC were able to sign the likes of Mahrez and Kante, despite the big clubs having the exact same scouting info on both players, that a section of Arsenal fans would react negatively if AFC bought a player for £400k, that they did not want to see an unknown signed.
The malcontents told us this was bollocks, yet look at the reaction of the malcontents to the signing of Takuma Asano.
Not only is there negative hysteria from them, its xenophobic, and in some cases downright racist. We also have the brainless soundbite that its a “commercial” signing, or a “shirt sales” signing.
One of the most laughable reasons (should that not be excuses, as I know they like to use that term, when it suits them), for their over the top reaction to this signing, is that it is “all Arsenal FC’s fault”, as they should know better than to announce his signing when Utd have announced Mkhitaryan and Zlatan. They say AFC should have waited till we had a big name(money) signing done and slip in the news about Asano, with it.
So to compound their initial attacks on both AFC and Asano, they have totally disrespected the player again.
Does Takuma Asano not deserve respect, is he not a full International, is he not likely to be playing at the Olympics, did he not have up to 200 scouts running the rule over him at the Toulon U21 tournament in the summer, is he not a big star in his home country, is he not young player of the year in his homeland(their Dele Alli per say, but without the hype)?
Does he not deserve the chance in his last couple of game for them, to say goodbye to his club, their fans, his team mates?
Arsenal announced the deal, cos the story had broken in Japan, Asano was already getting asked lots of questions about it, and he had admitted the move was happening, he even said that the only thing to be decided was if he would join up directly with AFC, or go on loan to get used to European football.

tony adams must now be considered a yes man, seeing as he is willing to give a full time committment to arsenal and be one of our youth coaches. this must come as a major shock to the malcontents who for years now claimed wenger would not hire adams at the club cos he would stand up to him.
Arsenal are 100% correct if they want our coaches to be fully committed to the club. People on here will know that I have held the view that AFC should not have had Henry around the place from the minute he began airing his views on Arsenal and its players, for me you can not have an employee of the club talking in a negative manner about the club, just to garner attention.
Wenger has also stated the view that to be coach or manager one has to give it full attention, in fact he says the commitment is so much that it has a bad effect on other aspects of a persons life. Henry says he wants to be a coach/manager, but is not prepared to give it 100% of his attention. He wants to run with the hare and bark with the hounds.
Liam Brady did pundit work for RTE while head of the Arsenal Academy, he is still a pundit, but while employed by AFC he never spoke ill of the club or its players, he at times refused to comment on certain arsenal players performances in CL games, and he would say “as an Arsenal employee it would be wrong of me to go in to it on here”, of course he would talk in general terms, he would say a performance was not good enough, would point out mistakes that led to goals or missed chances, but he would never condemn an Arsenal player, or single out one in the way Henry did with Giroud. Brady would say that certain things should always remain in house. Brady once explained, when pushed by Giles and Dunphy, that Arsenal was his main job, and that if he had any complaint to make about AFC that it would be to Arsenal he would make it, not on live TV for ratings. Both Giles and dunphy agreed that this was how it should be. By the way, since Brady retired from his role as head of the Arsenal academy, he certainly was more vocal in picking out AFC players who he felt had let the side down in CL games. He even said at times that Wenger got the tactics/selection wrong.
When Brady was pundit for International games, he never held back on Arsenal players.
If Arsenal have offered Henry a full time coaching role, meaning his pundit work had to take a back seat, then it is no ones fault but Henry’s if he does not take up the position.
I posted on here a few weeks ago, that Arsenal were doing all they could to get Arteta to take up an academy coaching role, and that there was some doubt about Henry getting a coaching role. Sadly Arteta ship has sailed to manchester, but with the news that Adams is in line for a full time coaching role at AFC, and with the overnight Henry story, it does seem Henry will not be employed by AFC and I for one am happy enough about it.

There are some rumors that Henry wanted to take up the full time coaching role offered to him by AFC, but that in fact SKY would not let him break his contract with them.

People don’t like their agendas being called out but this Henry non-story & the reactions further evinces their desperation to bash Wenger
Why is this story about Wenger and not about Henry refusing to commit to coaching? Where’s the elite mentality?
The simple facts of this story is employee and employer have been unable to agree on terms so have parted company. End of.

Henry the Arsenal U18 coach pre match pep talk to the youth team – “right lads, this lot are going to be really up for playing against the Arsenal, so you all have to be fully committed and give it your all”,
Youth player – “don’t worry lads, if things are not going well in first half, Titi will be able to advise us on what to change at half time, so don’t panic lads”
Henry “ah, mmm, ah, no lads I won’t be here at half time, I’m doing a SKY game in Southampton later and I will have to leave to catch my flight, but remember full commitment lads, full commitment required from you lads”
Henry as he picks up his coat – “over to you kwame and tone, remember the boys need to be fully committed, after all its the Arsenal they represent, text me the result, I won’t be back till Thursday, as I’ve super sunday, monday night football, games on Tuesday and Wednesday too, thank god I’ve got spursday night off so Thursday it is lads”

so james olley of the evening standard is saying that Wenger offered a full time coaching role to henry, and titi refused it, so afc will appoint adams instead, henry will be allowed to pop in when he wants and to continue his coaching badges at afc, but he will have no official position. henry would have had to quit his role at sky to take up the afc coaching role, so more a henry choice than any forcing out by wenger,
time for afc to ban the likes of matt law from arsenal press calls.

Sky pay billions of £ into football clubs, including Arsenal, and require Henry and similar to help flog it to the fans DC – and who could blame him ?
I have no idea of the actual £ figures as I do not root round in dustbins but when TH signed for Sky in 2014 his salary was said ( by the ever reliable Daily Mail) to “dwarf” Neville’s £1.2 million wage. They went of to quote a figure the equivalent of “£4 million a year” whatever that means.

If I was Henry, I’d probably make hay while the sun shines as well. Whether that “£4 million a year” deal gets renewed is debatable based on his punditting performance to date.
I also think that under 18 coach gig was available to Arteta – he did say something at the end of last season about Arsenal leaving the door open for him and Wenger also made a cryptic comment about not being able to manufacture a position where there was no vacancy. I suspect that Arteta sees his future in football management and an assistant coach to a first team squad is a faster track to that than youth football, which is more about development. Youth football is not always a route to first team management or it certainly seems to be a longer journey. I would imagine some people prefer or are better suited to teaching and developing young talents rather than managing in the more competitive first team environment. It’s interesting that Adams having gone straight into management has now moved back to youth coaching. He might find his calling there instead.

just one last thing on the whole “Henry forced out of Arsenal coaching role” thing, well Henry has actually never been employed by Arsenal as a coach, he was allowed to work along side our youth coaches, as part of his coaching badges. He has never been listed on .com as one of our coaches. And now despite all Henry’s claims that he wants to become a coach, he has turned down Arsenal’s offer to him, of a full time coaching role within the Arsenal academy. He has walked, he was not pushed. And he walked in the direction of the big SKY bucks.

Typical Henry, king of PR to always come up smelling of roses – like that leaving speech when he decided to abandon the club (that he loved so much and was going to finish his career with) in it’s hour of need to sign on with Barcelona. Do what is best for you, and stand by it, stop trying to have your cake and eat it too. “I want to manage Arsenal one day” “I want to be a coach” – “how would you like to be full-time coach of the under 18’s for starters?” “sorry, I’m busy earning money for nothing”, but behind your back I’ll leak the story to my mates in the media to make me look like the hero and give the malcontents another stick to beat the manager and club with.

now he has not elaborated on it any more than that, he has left it in such a way that it can be construed that Wenger has decided to not let him keep on coaching.

ARSENAL’S TAFARI MOORE ON TRIAL AT UTRECHT AHEAD OF POSSIBLE LOAN MOVE
Arsenal right-back Tafari Moore is on trial at Dutch top flight team Utrecht ahead of a possible loan move.
Moore featured for the Eredivisie side today as he looks to secure a move that would be hugely beneficial for his development.
The defender, who withdrew from the England squad for the U19 European Championships at short notice, featured for Arsenal in an U21 friendly against Bournemouth last weekend.
Moore, who has struggled with injuries in recent years, has amassed considerable experience of youth football since signing scholarship terms in 2013, but he is yet to play a competitive game for Arsenal.
If he does end up joining Utrecht then he will link up with another Arsenal academy graduate in Nacer Barazite.

There does seem to be a touch of aggravation/petulance in Henry’s message, but also if that’s all that he says, it is ok to draw a line and move on from this whole (essentially) non-story.
I doubt this will spoil his relationship with Wenger or the club, and I expect once his Sky contract runs out, he might be back. Henry is a savvy guy with the media no doubt. But I believe he genuinely loves Arsenal, and that he is a very determined competitive guy. I doubt this makes him give up his dream/idea of managing Arsenal one day.
I don’t blame Henry either. He had certain expectations of the job role, and Arsenal had different expectations of him. At the moment they didn’t match, so they move on for now. As should we all.

I Blame TH, he knows perfectly well the agenda many fans and media have against Arsene so should be very specific in any statements he makes. I also agree you can be a pundit at any time so to choose that over a coaching role which is day to day football many say they love is a strange move.
The money thing is a non issue, once again if you want to take part in football and not just talk about it and your as wealthy as TH then there should only be one decision.

I’m not sure we can accurately judge someone’s internal motivations over such decisions.
Henry has an existing contract with Sky. For all we know, he’s just taking his cue from Wenger in honouring his contracts. He probably expected it to be possible to earn his Pro License while doing this. Now that he’s learnt it’s not, I’m sure he’ll find a way to make it work elsewhere, and continue down the path of his goal of becoming a manager. Even, Arsenal manager.
You may disagree with his decision, but it seems to me that it was a perfectly reasonable stance from both parties.
As regards the agenda driven ‘fans’. You have a point as to the message though I doubt Wenger is much bothered by it. The message seems a little bit passive aggressive, but I guess it also shows that he’s disappointed to not be able to work at Arsenal. Either way. It’s not that big a deal. I don’t think this will affect Wenger and Henry’s relationship.

Presumably Shard/Ian, if the tweet is correct, Andries Jonker assumed it would be possible for TH to combine both roles of coach and pundit, unless he never watches TV and was ignorant of his involvement with Sky.
I suppose there are two questions, could e be the AFC U18 coach part time, and could he complete the Pro Licence part time.
If you have a look at the specification of the Pro Licence it seems fairly mild over 18 months to me;
http://www.thefa.com/my-football/coach/coaching-courses/the-fa-uefa-pro-licence
I cannot believe that is not do-able over 18 months.
The coaching job however is a more difficult one and I presume it must be whatever the hours/requirements that are involved in the coaching duties that sunk the arrangement as far as Wenger was concerned.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I suspect that if it was just about meeting the needs of TH he could have been accommodated. But knowing AW and the way he puts the club above the individual he would have put the needs of AFC above the needs of TH, which is what I would expect from a responsible manager.
