The Hating Game…….

Welcome to the GunnersoreArse blog. Being blogged 918.74 kilometers (in a straight line) from the Emirates Stadium.

Today we have a guest post from Eddie.

Who are the most hated teams in the English Premier League?

I would like to invite all football fans to vote for the most hated team in the English Premier League. Although the invitation is open to all I would like to point out that this is an Arsenal blog and we would like the visitors from N17 to behave with respect and those from SW6 to refrain from violence.

I read several articles on this subject and checked some polls and votes. Needless to say that the press is full of editorial errors placing Arsenal even above Tottenham in the Hate Tables, but we know we are and always will be the most loved club in the world. Those who don’t love us are…

  1. Cheers George, could be an interesting debate… the reasons why we dislike particular teams and why some opposition fans dislike the Arsenal. All in the best possible taste of course.

Even though some very nice family of mine unfortunately work for the evil petro-club *coughs up vile toxic phlem*

Arsenal pass the ball ino the net they get slated for tippy tappy dithering frenchie foreignness by our open minded petro-media.
Yesterday Gazprom pass the ball into the net and the very same petro-media go into a meltdown over the petro-club passing a football.

I hate them. And I think most others do too, for all the right reasons. Who wants to support a ginormous corporation’s sanction busting tool?

It’s the Gazprom supporting kids I feel sorry for. My kin…

  4. In th meantime it’s another game against the Arsenal B Team today.

Clearly the B Team bought Sagna to yet again try and weaken the A team, otherwise he’d be playing at CB ahead of that Mule they bought off Special Agent Mendes, in my himbl;e and useless opinion. Debuchy was a good signing in that circumstance, real shame, but we know the Arsenal players get less then zero protection. With Debuchy’s new injury is it time to give Bellerin a run (he’s quick!), or will the extra height of Chambers get him the nod today, if he is fit?

My odds are on Ospina to keep his place, two clean sheets in his last two games makes it tricky to drop him?

    COYG!

  5. This is one particular contest Chelsea appear nailed on to win. Aside from being the first Premier League club to commit to paying the London Living Wage – for which they deserve great credit, in my opinion, there is very little else left to love.

One suspects that even Chelsea fans aren’t that keen on the club and certainly they appear to have big problems with atmosphere at the Bridge and their unending need to advertise tickets for home games is telling enough; this is one outfit even less in need of a stadium upgrade than our half-empty neighbours in Middlesex.

It’s not so much the obvious reasons that present themselves to those of us who would happily live with a relegated Chelsea – dodgy owner, dire manager, despicable captain – but the actual culture of the place that is so distasteful to so many. The feeling that scratch the surface and you would only find more of the same, scarcely hidden from view, always there, waiting to burst forth like something from a bad sci-fi horror movie.

  6. I think Chelsea would win it by a country mile although a lot of that with me is the Jose effect

A man who dirties every club he touches. I can’t recall Ancelotti’s Chelsea ever causing my lip to curl with equivalent contempt – Fergie’s Mancs never raised my bile to the same extent

Other than the blue Satan I am pretty indifferent to the rest – indeed a couple I have a positive soft spot for – Sunlun being one

The club I do hate, irrationally or perhaps not so, to the point of wishing their wiping away from the planet is Luton Town. Luton fucking Town!

    Don’t start me off

  7. Indeed don’t imagine my hatred extends merely to seeing Luton lose, be demoted, lose their League status

    I’ve seen all that – it’s nothing

No I am talking the club, their players, officials and every one of their fans atomised – gone – dispersed into a billion billion billion seperate particles into the cosmos

  8. Admittedly, if by some fluke of cosmic catastrophe LTFC did fall victim to total permanent molecular disintegration, I might still feel some malice toward those remnants.

I’m prepared to give it a go though

can’t believe Bielik is not in the squad, didn’t the mirror and so many of the doomers tell us he was in the squad for today’s game

  13. its a shame TR7 hasnt retained his place i feel he is a little unlucky. Rambo when on form run the midfield lets hope he has a really good game today. again it is absolutely amazing to see, according to twitter, going to the home of the champions is an easy fixture. However I do believe decisions went against us at key times in last seasons defeat and a good performance today will see us come away with the points if the ref gives us a fair crack of the whip.COYG

  15. come on Arsenal, Cazorla scores a penalty after Monreal was fouled by Kompany, 20 minutes gone

    Like

  16. BBC radio 5 commentators trying to discredit the penalty call, even though both say it was a penalty, of course seeing as its their darling Kompany who was called on it, they can’t bring themselves to not try and find fault with the awarding of it.

  17. i know this penalty will be discussed much.

i think it was a soft penatly but if you look at kompany’s movement as a reaction to monreal running past him you’d see that he never turned to catch him ..he tried to impede monreals speed by body checking ever so slightly within what could be perceived to be within laws of the game..his contact was not to win ball but purely to impede ..monreal was ever so clever to get that penatly.

It is a penalty according to em.

btw mertesacker is having a brilliant game so is coq..the team looks so fresh and up for it..ramsey is doing a lot without the final pass..

  18. Arsenal losing the ball easily a bit too often, especially Oxlade-Chamberlain. Couple of good opportunities for a break has broken down with bad touches.

Dean has booked two arsenal players for very little, Kos and Ramsey

  21. Giroud playing with a knock? Looks to be limping a little.
Still, good or the best chances for the Arsenal in the half? Giroud’s header was close following another great run from Chambo. City will catch the wind (as they did right at the end of the half) and have better chances but the back six are playing fantastically well.

Ospina 7 – had little to do but did it well, handling was good,

Bellerin 8 – outstanding, and looks a far more natural right back than Chambers
Mertesacker 8 – had aguero in his pocket
Koscielny 8 – makes our defense so much better
Monreal 8 – very good, won the crucial penalty

Coquelin 8.5 – for me man of the match, can be industrial but isn’t that what we have lacked for so long, the great thing he has is speed
Ramsey 7 – worked hard, but was rusty, hopefully it was only cramp that seen him go off and nothing more serious

Oxlade-Chamberlain 7.5 – lots of good bits, but tends to give away teh ball a lot with poor passing
Cazorla 8.5 – twinkle toes, penalty and an assist
Alexis 7 – worked hard but was double marked most of the time, lost the ball a lot

Giroud 8 – got the vital second goal, which can’t be true as we are told he never scores against good teams

    subs
Rosicky 6.5 – got into the game right away
Gibbs n/a – only on a few minutes
Flamini n/a – only on a few minutes, should have set Giroud up for a goal

Just realized that Man City must now be considered shite, as Arsenal only beat teams that are shite

Bellerin impressed me a lot too, he too is getting better and better and seems to now know he is good enough to be in the first team

Defensively did not make a mistake
Midfield disciplined when required, creative when the opportunities opened up, 94 minutes of harnessed energy
And Olivier looked superb, strong, never gave Kompany a quiet moment, lovely touch on occasions

  48. this is an actual comment from one of those idiot types who pretend to support Arsenal

“what a shambles city have been today. ”

as I said in my ratings post, by Arsenal beating city, it automatically relegates City to being a shite team, as the narrative from these clowns is Arsenal only beat shite teams.
