The away fans are winning two-one against the miserable home support.
That’s two away games in which we have been dominant and played with everything that we want to see from our Arsenal.
Pace, fluency, penetration and creativity.
It was an outstanding performance. One that should have shut the Media up, and malcontents alike. But will it? I doubt it very much.
I honestly believe that, if the home support were like the away fans multiplied by ten, the home of football would see the team perform at much higher levels.
It just seems to me that we are stuck in second gear at home, with the hand break welded on.
Against Fulham, some of the interchanges and close control were staggering. Not a hint of panic or fear – unlike at home where every perceived error is met with a collective sigh, if not an audible groan.
Even from my customary position of sitting in a hunched up in a little ball, looking out from between my fingers , I could see we were never anything other than totally dominant.
We saw what a fit Podolski adds to the team, when he starts.
The Goalkeeper once again reminded us that he could become or first choice for the next fifteen years.
Aaron showed that all the doubters are no more than pathetic halfwits that lack any modicum of football knowledge.
It looks to me like the fabled “double-pivot”, has morphed into a triple-pivot. Our midfield was ruthlessly efficient, both going forward and in reverse.
Fortunately, the will of the home support to win the NLD should override their will moan and actively work against the team next week.
When I say “moan and actively work against the team”, I mean just that. If Gooners cant see that the toxic atmosphere around the ground is poisoning the team and working against the club, it can only be because they are too stupid to do so.
Great result, great team, great manager great club. End of.
Come on you mighty Reds.
Whats up folks!
Well, that was some of the best football you are bound to see ths entire season. What impressed me most was the passing from the back when we got the ball back…unbelievable. The composure and the ball and quick passing to get out of any trouble and transition from defence to offense was off the charts. That was some really pretty football that we were treated to.
It seems that some don’t like the fact that Arsene said that the support has been brainwashed. I fully agree and I am glad he said it. The support cannot stand by calling him everything under the sun and talking pure bulls about things they don’t know and not expect a dose of reality. The first match of the season and the season was all but over for Arsenal because players were not signed, as yet. As if that was the reason for the loss. Sorry, but I just find that really childish and it needs to be pointed out when people behave in such a manner towards their own club. What is most annoying is that we know that bids were placed but they failed. So what does these supporters want, big signings or any old player? if the latter I am sure that we would have had players in.
Back to the team. The biggest difference I see is that the team is now playing Wengerball. It is obvious that the pre season has built and understanding and a strong unity between the players. Yes, we have added that cohesiveness to the fight the team displayed at the end of last season and it is a beautiful thing.

Why is Harry staying away because of a lack transfer dealings? Is he not allowed to say that here? Unless I am missing something.
Better question from my point of view. Why is transfer dealing such a bother to the supporter’s. Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist because we have no signings as yet? though we do have one.
But, I agree with G69, that Flamini would be good for us. His last season with us was excellent. He knows the Arsenal way and he really did protect the back 4 tirelessly. Many people want to diminish what he did but but if we are honest, he played a heck of a role in that 08-09 team. If I am not mistaken, he was called up to the France team in that year? That says something, to me.

The best part about Gibbs is he’ll be just 24 next month.
Pauly, the most impressive thing about the way the team passed it around is they were doing it on a water logged pitch. Can you imagine them on this form at home on our beautiful pitch?
Yeah, Pauly, I’m thinking Flamini can cover in the middle and fullback just in case. he knows the system and the manager, so that’s also a big plus. He’s also brings with him a lot of experience and can mentor the youth. All I see is win around that transfer, despite the doomers saying that he left Milan because he wasn’t wanted.
Did any of you read that Adrian Durham article where he said he could manage the team better than Arsene could? That article summed up the spirit of the moaners perfectly for me. The doomers actually think they can run a club the size of Arsenal better than Arsene Wenger. Someone has to tell these morons what is what before they get to carried away and start believing craziness like that.

Even after a good game and result AW is never fully satisfied; his remarks, while positive, strong and loyal to his players, also show a hint of caution … onto the next game. It’s the right attitude. This team is, predictably, looking at the level of the best of last season, and showing potential of a higher gear already. Not surprising: they’ve worked hard. Ramsey is taking more responsibility, Sagna instills calmness as does Per, Jenks means business and it shows, Olivier looks and is confident, Theo dangerous even when he drifts, Tomas and Santi, in different ways, raise the level of all around them. As important as points and CL position per se, 7 goals, crafted in open play in 3 games, 2 away, is a decent (early) start to proceedings, considering the villainous vobble, thank-you to the worst referring I’ve seen for a long time. I can still see Kos’ have-you-lost-your-mind smile at the ref after the first, and the second. Like a true Arsenal player, he simply walked without further ado, no fuss, no mud in your eye.

True G69, that we were playing that way in a storm is even more impressive. That was really some brilliant football.
As far as Flamini, what people don’t get is that certain systems suit some players more. If a player fails, it is not as simple as saying they are not good, but perhaps the system does not play to their strengths. Cesc is not the player he was at Arsenal, he is still good, but the Arsenal Cesc was on another level. As you say, he knows the Arsenal way.

Pauly, thinking about tactical set ups and different systems, is a bit too much for the simple minded. When they hear Flamini, their hind brains switch on, their nostrils flare up and their mouths blurt out, NO!

Yeh, Gains, exactly. That is why I can’t do the buying players thing, It becomes more about the hype than anything else. Just give us a name that will send “a message of intent”. Boo to that. As I have said, you can give me a fit Eduardo over quite a few of these hyped up players.
Don’t get me wrong, I too get excited by new players (those who have signed that is), that is why I am excited as heck about our own Yaya.

Typically excellent comments all round but especially from Paul at 3.53 pm, if I may say so.
I was only half-joking on Twitter earlier that any new signings might struggle to get in the side (with the likely exception of Flamini) as I’d imagine AW would be reluctant to disrupt the re-introduction of Wengerball too quickly by introducing new blood too soon.
Another couple of games like the last two and the doomers could well be forced back under their rock …

“and a failure to act in the transfer market”
I pretty much doubt you or anyone in here would have access to Wenger’s ideas or shortlists about Arsenal transfers this summer. The word “failure” is a discovery of yours and indicative of your eagerness to cast negativity on things that dont happen according to your personal preferences. What if the man wanted to secure CL football first? How are you to call his plans “failures” if this was his intention all along?
Oh …its only your opinion….. a bad one too….
==========================================
do people seriously create blogs to attack manager when things dont go according to their preference ?…seems so…what happened to noone bigger than the club..does it count for fans and their opinions ? …oh its their club i forgot…fans own the club

clear scoring opportunities? ..ehmmmmm cant remember any…. hmmm hmmm two of the most lethal strike forces in europe ( lol) ..i wonder what arsene would have to put up with today if he showed such “ambition” in his games…….
i guess thats what people pay for..to watch mourinho refer to himself in third person and makings subs at 92:37 to secure draw while signalling ref to end the match…

What on earth did Mourinho and Moyes tell their players before the match? The same thing it seems. Just pick your accent, add expletives and colourful football language.
Whatever happens, we cannot afford to lose, so we can’t go a goal behind, this is a one-goal game; so sneak a goal if you can, watch for the chance counter-attack, take the odd pot-shot (or don’t), but keep midfield always crowded, don’t give the ball away, work the flanks and a corner or two, but whatever else, DO NOT COMMIT!!! Got it?
Anti-football is back at the top of EPL! I see Wenger’s wry smile all the way from here.

I have to say, aside from the junior cups, I’m looking forward to seeing Frimpong on the field at some point this season, probably a last 11 minutes affair to start with, and equally a cameo from Zelalem (whom I haven’t seen at all, only read about), and of course Ryo if and when his time and full fitness comes. And no doubt about it, if Diaby makes an appearance, and you know he will in due course, I will shout myself hoarse.

Regarding Mourinho
Tom Watt, lately of Fans’ Forum, hit the nail on the head when he said that Mourinho is a manager who doesn’t actually like football. Likes winning, but has no appreciation of the aesthetics of the game or its potential to thrill. No risks to be taken ever.
Moyes is just Mourinho-lite.

Happy Silver Anniversary, Annicoll.
Robbie Mustoe was up Rooney’s arse yesterday for banging into Terry and making a tackle near his end line. It was quite incredible hearing him gush about Rooney even though he had one attempt on target from thirty yards away.
The only thing good about yesterday’s game is that it gave the likes of Hughes, Lambert, Martinez, Bruce and AVB ideas on how to stop Manure when they play at Old Trashford. From what I saw, teams who plan to avoid a loss against Manure need to keep Evra from getting forward, Valencia from beating them on the wing and put enough bodies in the middle to disrupt their passing. That’ll get you a guaranteed 0-0 every time.

So there’s a game tonight, but does it even matter? Last time I checked on other blogs, all games are for naught (since this is the attitude displayed by a good chunk of “supporters”) until we spend 80 million. Apparently the season doesn’t start until after the transfer window is closed.
