  1. Thanks for this. Just a comment – it’s very hard to comprehend, the way the voices are in mono. Can I please suggest it would be easier to understand if both voices were in stereo. Thanks Adrian/George.

  2. George, it’s funny to finally hear your voice. Hahahahahahaha!!!

Awesome idea, by the way. A weekly podcast is something I haven’t seen come out of any blog.

  4. I think this podcast is a real achievement for all involved; looking forward to future episodes and believe it could well be the perfect antidote to our suffering inflicted by such ‘shows’ as Match of the Day etc.

Well done B7 (or ‘Ronan’ as I believe his codename is) and George.

  8. Very impressed with how this whole positively arsenal thing has mushroomed. I enjoyed that podcast, PG, though I agree with Muppet about the sound quality.

My unhelpful comment is that perhaps you need to find a different format or a (hate to use the word) gimmick or USP of some sort to make the podcast stand out and get the wide audience the content deserves.
Equally unhelpfully, I think you could maybe hold back a little on holding forth. I agree with 99% of what you say, but perhaps draw out your guests more, and try to get to the rationale of why they hold a different view on something? On the other hand, telling it like it is is very you and most people like to hear strong opinions voiced, so I’m probably talking rubbish.

  12. Just keep it an ego & miserable know-it-all free zone and you’ll be unique in Arsenal podcast land! A female voice along with you 2 would be an idea or even Shotta or Stew? Guests?- I’d have Tom Watt or Geezypeas.

  13. excellent. Enjoyed that. for a first go it was marvellous. Only obvious critique is as Muppet said regarding microphone arrangements etc. B7 from one speaker and yourself and Adrien from another. Minor gripe only and got use to it soon enough.

    Nice one!

  14. Well done guys. Very impressed. As far as Mel’s suggestion goes people hear me every week on the radio so I already get too much exposure. I want to hear other people like Zimpaul and Mel and Kelly and, well everyone else basically.

  16. Whoo Hoo! Brilliant start George and Ronan. Yes there are some rough edges to iron out technically. Acoustically the “levels” weren’t right and I agree with the points made by Fun about managing the dialogue but in terms of content this was no amateur hour. No way but up.
    Keep it positive!

  17. If you’re looking for a gimmick or a conceptual idea, it should somehow connect to what the site is about. Perhaps something on the lines of positive vs. negative, talking through my rose tinted glasses, short and sharp battles, optimist/pessimist, constructive/destructive, positive and überpositive, Case for the Defence, the Blame Game. Or something.

    Just a think.

  18. Top stuff all round, excellent. Thanks to George, Ronan and Adrian. The Bergkamp stories were great.

I can imagine a special where Ronan and George head off to Amsterdam…

  19. Two excellent comments from a filthy evil Manc (G.Neville):

“Do you know something? When great clubs are in trouble they shut everyone up!! And I respect that!”

“The transfer window is football on a ‘ self harm’ binge!!”

We’ve seen plenty of evidence to support the latter. Unfortunately.

  20. Hi Gooners, thanx for this podcast…. excepting more of the same….. have got a 40 minute bus journey from home to work, which i used to effectively utilise listening to the pods.

But the negativity prevailing in the majority of Arsenal blogosphere has been transcended to their related podcasts also.

My joy had no bounds when I came to know that PosArse is doing Podcasts from now on.

Thanks again…. All the best for the future episodes.

  22. Actually, transfer nonsense aside, I am really, really interested to see and understand Arsene’s move on the transfer front. Not in the marquee signing way at all, a stupid turn of phrase, but his sense of what is needed, where, what qualities. One should (almost) always take Arsene a little literally. When he says he is looking for the type of quality that improves this team, he is thinking is big, bold strokes. I found Arsenal’s interest in Suarez fascinating, and essentially agreed from football perspective. Forget the media drivel we are fed. Attempting to prize Suarez was an incredibly ambitious move.

Flamini is one thing, I would be happy to have him back and I suspect he will do well; but that is a simple stop-gap, a Yossi thing, Wenger has been after serious talent, and refuses to chase the look-OK, not-bad-at-alls on offer, plenty of them, mostly already snapped up by Pools and Spurs of this world. He’s waited and waited, poised, and has an idea who, how, and almost, when. Players he has had an eye towards for some time. The transfer gossipers are doing backflips to second guess this from little clues.

  24. That was very insightful stuff. I also want to highlight that once a penalty is given, and a lot of decisions go wrong against you, that affects players mentality too, on both sides of the pitch, villa felt more brave and arsenal felt more victimised and that affects the game too. So when the argument was made that Arsenal are responsible for their loss, and it can’t be pointed to the referee, I think we also gotta point out that performance gets affected psychologically too when decisions go wrong.
