Jesus Done, Who’s Next ?

Hello all,

Today we look at the Jesus transfer, who might be next and how it will affect our existing players, team set up and all that stuff.

Pedantic George.

  1. The biggest thing about the Jesus transfer is not necessarily him coming but the fact we can still attract such a top class player.
I know because of his desire to stay in the PL and that the other English CL clubs didn’t come in for him helped but he must have still had trust in Mikel and the belief we can get better.
His signing will in turn help the recruitment of other players especially with the positives from last season (fifth place, young team Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Ramsdale etc)

  2. I haven’t seen that much of him but from the various clips he seems to have very quick feet, something I rememeber about Alexis Sanchez. It would as Ian says be a real upside if his arrival helped attract other top players. The downside is I’m not sure I can cope with all the Biblical gags.

  3. TBF it’s a great name.

I love to watch fast attackers who can play top level football and as said previously although his predator instincts may not be akin to Eddie and such players he is a good footballer and attacker with serious skill and he’s played well against the Gunners.

Although the lack of minutes for a top scorer like ESR was as baffling as dropping Xhaka from the midfield unless that was fitness related (as it probably was) I appreciated the signing of Odegaard over others like Ceballos. fingers crossed this move is in that trend and works out for all.

    Jesus done.
Some pounds on The Merciful Sterling next? Heh I’ll get my coat.

  6. Painful Ian – there will be a lot of it over the years, I’m sure. Fortunately and no doubt due to the western-centric view of most fans, we’ve been spared a lot of the Gabriel to Mohammed gags!

  8. reports that Arsenal have put in a 3rd bid for Martinez of Ajax, in the region of £40M, he can play CB, LB and CM, so if we do manage to sign him, is he the great squad man, or for that money will he be a first choice for Arteta, and if where, I’d suggest most likely he’d be our first choice Left Back, not least cos Tierney has been unable to stay fit for anything near a full season.

  11. That will be interesting to see how many youngsters play especially as we normally play a different eleven in the second half

  12. Great to see the young lions win the U19s Euros, Norton-Cuffley made it on as sub in the final and apparently even Aaron Ramsey scored which is strange because I thought he was Welsh and far too old.

  14. Good to see ARSENAL beat Ipswich 5-1 at Conley and I know preseason you can never tell whether that is a good score or not but Eddie kept up his form with another hat-trick and Balagun and Nelson also scored. I haven’t seen who else made up the numbers especially in the case of youngsters.

  15. Ah this from Jeorge Bird.
It was a first senior call-up for Walters and also the first time Matt Smith has played for the first team.

Kirk, Awe,Sousa , Matt Smith, Salah Oulad M’hand, Charlie Patino, Omari Hutchinson, Folarin Balogun, Marcelo Flores all played. Henry-Francis and Ogungbo on bench.
Arthur Okonkwo was Captain in the second half but Azeez and Swanson weren’t in the squad. I don’t if they were injured or something is happening with loan deals.
