No Win in 3 But Spirits Remain High.

Hello all.

In this podcast we look back at the Liverpool game and briefly at Forest. Then we have the terminally boring Xhaka debate/debacle. I conclude that despite our recent setbacks we should continue to be hopeful, although with many reservations.

Pedantic George,

  1. ARSENAL have officially asked for Sunday’s game to be postponed

  2. If you look at the first team players on the official ARSENAL website it looks like we only have 10 outfield players and that includes Mari.
Azeez has been recalled from Portsmouth but I’m not sure if he counts as a first team player.

  3. This was a great show lads and you are 100% correct about Granit a better player than most fans appreciate and also more loyal than most deserve.
Looking back he probably should have left our shores a while ago but at a time when the pundits go on about character he has it by the truckload.
He treats adversity like rainwater falling off his back and that’s why all ARSENAL managers rely on him and when there is to talk of him leaving so many managers want him, the likes of carrager and Merson could only pray of such adulation.

  4. laughable the uproar caused by Arsenal asking for the NLD to be called off due to the amount of players we have out. There was not a peep out of Neville and Carragher when their belvoed Man UTd and Liverpool had games called off, but oh my, how very dare Arsenal ask for a game to be called off. And imagine Arsenal didn’t even have the cheek to falsify 13 Covid Tests

  5. Whatever the rights and wrongs in the fixture postponements. Those in power reap what they sow. Unless there was total transparency regarding numbers of players available and confirmed positive tests, of course it was and is open to abuse.
It will be an interesting decision today especially with the Neville’s of this world continuing to pull strings with perfectly timed comments.

  6. Really can’t see the PL postponing our game. It just doesn’t happen like that for ARSENAL and never has done with authority. We are always treated differently.
Basically if we only had one outfield player they would expect us to play. The pundits, media and other managers sudden change towards having to play will only help the PL confirm the game has to go ahead.

  7. Don’t forget the influence of tv money. It is the inconsistency that is so appalling with seemingly no right of reply. Disgraceful.

  8. If they refuse to postpone the game, Arsenal need to take it further, Leicester recently had 2 games postponed, in addition to others
But yes, my suspicion, if they can do Spurs a favour and the opposite to Arsenal, they will , we shall see

  9. The fact the game is televised on super Sunday makes a difference as well. Any loss of money makes a huge difference to this capitalist corrupt league.

  12. It is a total farce really. The backlash will be immense of course because it’s Arsenal but we didn’t set the rules.
What will happen on Thursday if the situation hasn’t changed?

  14. waiting for the next EPL team to get a game postponed due to lack of players & all the journos & ex player pundits to say covering for their non reaction, “no point us making a fuss about it when Arsenal got the NDL called off, that made a mockery of the rules opened it to abuse”

  15. we are half way through the January transfer window, and despite all the noise, AFC have not made a signing for the first team, we have loaned out two players from the squad, AMN and Balogun. Our ladies have signed two players and our youth team has singed one player.

  17. Just been looking at a lot of Spuds moaning their balls loose over this. Obviously they felt they could win…erm, against a severely depleted Arsenal side and are erm frightened also that we might beat Livercrutches and get to another final…and they keep on going on about Woolwich, Ive no idea why this would even be an insult? Football certainly is potty at times. Some of its psychological side is really like going down the rabbit hole.

Feel a bit sorry for Auba, hes really ill, and has been for a while, the club was way to public in their shaming of him. Kind of hope if he leaves it will be on good terms.

  18. Has anyone considered as to why, all of a sudden, are the players and staff at football teams coming down, en masse, with Covid?

Are they not bothering to take care and precautions?

Sounds weird to me, especially as I now read that Auba has a heart problem, possibly as a result of catching Covid.

  19. jjgsol the omicron variant of covid is far more contagous so more people are getting it, but just like the general public most of the players coming down with it are having very mild symptoms

  21. Have to say the Xhaka sending off was worth it & has been a rewarding experience for so many fans on so many levels

    1)
The daily serving of lasagne will be appreciated by all at the training ground this week.

    2)
The bleating blaggers who have proven that they know nothing about Football but understand how to use negative emotions on social media to get clicks and to make money doing exactly just that!

The undignified spectacle of those who spent years pinning for red card merchants like Melo (he couldn’t pass a football) caught out this season with their idiotic and quite simply racist three year bile filled campaign against the most important midfield player in the squad using this last week to double down on their memes refreshingly exposes how little they know about the sport. Yet again!

  23. Omicron isn’t necessarily less serious than some of the other variants but the population is more resistant. Most IC wards the patients are almost all 100% unvaccinated.
As far as heart problems are concerned myocarditis and pericarditis have long been linked with viral diseases. In studies in the USA and Israel quoted on the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention people contracted covid had a 24% higher chance of developing Myocarditis. Most of the Vaccinations also increase the chance but only by 3.4%.
As athletes, like racehorses, are finely tuned the likelihood of developing Myocarditis is very real.

  24. A worry over Auba things have not been right for a long time. He seems to have had to deal with lots of complex issues and to be honest we can speculate and judge but we do not know what has happened behind the scenes.
My last word tonight on the media treatment of Arsenal. Good to hear Micah Richard’s say it as it is.

  25. all across twitter today I kept being told to have a look at the Leeds Utd bench, so I did, and it really opened my eyes, they were spot on, there was not a reason in the world why our bench could not look very similar, if we had gone ahead with the NLD.
