Arsenal Have Improved massively.

Hello people,

In this podcast I wax lyrical about the recent improvements, before adding caveats. There is a bit of a young player and Xhaka love in too. At last it’s mostly positive about everything.

  1. FT:Leicester City 1-0 Liverpool

we are 6pts behind 2nd placed Liverpool, we play city on Saturday, and can cut that to 3pts, before LFC play Chelsea on Sunday. Time for AFC to step up

  2. Ed, I have no idea what the ESR situation is but we can only go by history. Mikel doesn’t like the academy lads and never has if he can find an excuse he will use it.
Remember how he never shown trust in the Hale end lads and remember how he deals with players that cross him. Each player from young to old has been publicly hung out to dry.
If ESR has stepped out of line he will have to jump back in quickly or leave their is no grey area.

  3. I wouldn’t read too much into Artetas comments re Smith Rowe. Arteta likes to wax philosophical, he can never give a simple and straightforward forward answer. The reason for Smith Rowe being on the bench is that Martinell Odegaard Saka combination is working and Smith Rowe is scoring from the bench.
I think Smith Rowe will play more minutes in the cup games.

RE Leicester game what a surprise result. They battled well and rode their luck and took their chance when it came. The way Liverpool front load with their full backs you can always catch them on the break. Tottenham gave them all sorts of problems with Kane and Son on the break. Thing is you have to defend hard and ride your luck too as they do create chances.
Same as Man City if you catch them on the break you create chances and if you beat their press they are wide open. But as we know you make one or two mistakes and the game could be over inside 10 minutes

  4. Aye, odd comments on Smith-rowe. Did the question in any way lead into something like that?
Think Emile admitted himself there were bits and pieces- eating, sleeping- on the living right front he needed to improve on, and that he did so and reaped benefits.

This doesn’t sound like that – ‘cool head’? Certainly no signs of hot or even warm head on pitch. Seems very chilled. As for ‘direction’?

    Oh well, hopefully it’s nothing.

  8. City certainly weren’t at their sublime best yesterday and looked sluggish at times. All of the teams apart from city dropped points in the 26th/ 28th round of games so again I do think it might of been an advantage with the wolves game being cancelled especially going into the city game.
They say their is never an easy time to play brilliant teams but sometimes are definitely better than others and as long as Covid has not ripped through our side it could be ideal.

  9. Arsenal u23 defender Omar Rekik has been called up to the Tunisia squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Also being reported that Aubameyang has been allowed to join up with the Gabon squad already, as he was not being considered for our squad v Man City anyway.

  11. but foreverheady this is nothing new, they are not the first team and won’t be the last team, that know they can get away with things v Arsenal, that can not be got away with against other teams, and certainly not against utd.

A simple little question, have you ever heard pundits or commentators in any non Arsenal game promote the idea that the more skilled team should be roughed up by the lesser team. You know the get in their faces, leave one on them, let them know you are there, get stuck in, or what was that one Phil Neville suggest be done to Rosicky, break his legs for doing a no look pass.
Nearly all the pundits and commentators agree that Man City and Liverpool and to an extent Chelsea, are a few steps ahead of all the other teams in the league, but you never hear them say the lesser teams should kick them, but we still hear them say it when AFC play any of the smaller clubs in the EPL, and whats more the refs have the same attitude

  12. Reminds me of when the Pulis Stoke used to play Fergies Utd, they wouldn’t lay a finger on Utd, home or away, would usually submit to a 2-0 loss, and in doing so, they wouldn’t be humiliated, all smiles and handshakes at the end of the game, but in those days, Stoke would survive in the top division and be given licence to do what they wanted to certain clubs, and Pulis could take out his sociopathic fantasies on our ex manager, or at least his team , unpunished
