  1. Guardiola on Arteta: “I don’t have any news. We prepared the game as best as possible. Before, during and now after… I spoke yesterday, I don’t have to say anything more.”

  2. Seems a bit of a delay with Arteta?
Perhaps City a little pissed at Arsenals reported mid season raid for at least two of their coaches?

  3. None other than Julien Laurens…who??? saying it should be announced today, then he will be on the bench for the “Arteta derby” at the weekend
Unless of course it is all a big smokescreen for Big Sam to come in last minute and sort the defence forever

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment is the most valuable sports conglomerate in the world by Forbes. Value $8.4bn. Silent Stan’s empire began with the purchase of the NHL’s Avalanche, NBA’s Nuggets and NFL’s Rams. The 3 teams are now worth a combined $5.7bn. #Arsenal is worth $2.3bn

  5. Doctor who worked with City and other clubs been charged with giving fraudulent information for one of those medical exemption things. Involved testosterone in this case, for a player with Bury, another club he worked with. City parted company as soon as made aware of it.

I’ll always wonder how much of it is going on in football. If it’s a big problem, firmly believe the game would act to protect itself and keep a lid on it. The medical exemptions list and who’s using what on those grounds probably holds key to it.

  6. rich the medical exemption thing always makes me think about how so many of the top Rugby players are down as suffering from Asthma, its laughable.

  7. Ed. Yeah, sure I’ve heard some very suspicious bits and pieces over years about it. Not long ago think it was a doctor coming to work with England team, from British cycling, who wanted as one of first steps to run battery of tests on players for all sorts of conditions, with view to those sort of treatments.
You’d kind of think if a player had a real issue with asthma or like it would show up pretty easily and be dealt with in due course.

The tennis woman- name forgotten- few years back was a real eye-opener. if remember rightly she was absolutely taking the piss- strong, very helpful medication with completely flimsy excuse, for years.

My niece had very bad asthma when younger and I’d bet good money a lot of super healthy athletes take stronger doses for it than she ever did.

  9. a few years ago I was talking to a former Ulster Rugby player and he said on the subject, that in his playing days if you had Asthma you couldn’t play Rugby, but now you have to have Asthma to play Rugby, he said it was a joke that those running sport are so willing to allow cheating in this manner. He said he never goes to Rugby games anymore as he believes players by and large can not be the physique they are now without taking something that they should not be taking.

  10. media claiming that Mesut Ozil is leaving Arsenal on loan in January for remainder of his contract, off to Fenercache in Turkey.

  11. Heck of a situation if most gifted player leaves with, presumably, us still paying big portion of wages.

  12. especially if there is no time to replace him. Ramsey has never been properly replaced, that worked well, didnt it
.If Ozil is off, just hope it is because its his wishes, or even for football reasons, and not because he has stood up for an oppressed people

  13. Several key players out for Everton, and the Xmas fixtures, our annual winter injury curse hits again, with vengeance.
No left backs until Jan/Feb earliest, and stand to be corrected, but don’t think we have any naturally left footed centre backs either, tricky right sided wide men might create problems, good luck Mikel, your famed coaching skills might be needed , that and the qualities of time and patience some Arsenal fans are so well known for

  14. Kola out for bit with ankle ligament damage then! Don’t think we have any youth players very likely to step up/in.

Got Saka as an option, but only in wing back system, most likely, and then think Ains played some games on left, but again as wing back.

Booger. Saw couple of idiots on twitter claiming Kola faked it the other day because he wanted to find a way off pitch. Loons.

  15. Medley with u23’s left footed but don’t think he’s ready for it. Bola left back for them. Has some good moments but again not someone who looks first team player from what I’ve seen.

Our best prospects for some time now have tended to be from midfield/attack rather than defenders.

  16. Any chance of getting Monreal back?

  17. Kola faking things, he doesnt really strike me as that type!
Letting Monreal go in the first place was one of Emery/Rauls major mistakes, though a part of me was please to thinkof him ending his career at home, in the Spanish sunshine, away from the PGMOL. But a big miss, like the other captains let go in the summer

  18. Seems the list of potential backroom staffers not as stellar as the first time Arteta was linked, or for that matter, a few mentioned this time.
So far at least, no Alonso, Adams/Keown, Santi Caz- who of course is still playing, no city coaches, but we do reportedly have, erm, Steve Round as well as some GK coach from Brentford??
but more importantly, just hope Freddie sticks around
