A Pod In A Blog

As I cant be bothered writing a load of rubbish about all things Arsenal, I’ve talked a load of rubbish instead.

  1. rosicky, you will find that AW has said that he has no interest in being on the board at AFC, or any sort of DOF, he has stated that it would be unfair on the manager/head coach.
over the summer, Wenger actually looked rejuvenated, fresher than he has for some time, the burden of AFC has been lifted off his back, and he seems relieved. After the initial sadness he had, even annoyance, of how it all ended, it seems he has come to terms with it, and is now happy to be away from the idiot fans who abused him for so long.
The same idiot fans who despite all their talk about new beginnings, and a united fan base, have already shown in this last week alone, with their reactions to, KSE full take over, transfer window dealings, Emery’s choice of captains and the rumors of Cech starting tomorrow, that only Arsenal going on a long unbeaten run, with a mean defense and a lethal attack will keep them in anyway quiet. Whinging cunts do not change their modus operandi

  2. Cmon George you don’t know spurs are the media darlings plus the FAs favourite boys are mostly from the Spuds.

  3. The problem with the close season is that I completely forget how sick I feel when all the clubs I hate win so the last two days have come as a nasty surprise.

  5. Mourinho: “We played against a team that spent more money than us – forget the history, forget the shirt. Every team is difficult.”

  6. In case the Irish Gooners among us missed it, our U18’s had two Irish players in its starting 11 today, central defender Ogungbo, and forward McEneff (who turned pro recently, it was announced by the club today)

  7. I only seen on the day Joao Virginia left us for Everton, that his younger brother, Pedro, is in our Academy, and he too is a goalie and was sub for the first time with our U18’s today.

None of our youth summer signings were involved with our youth teams today, Greenwood, Hein, Lopez and Carjan were not included as all details of their moves has not been ratified by FA or FIFA. Once AFC get the all clear on each deal, the player will get game time.

New signings aside, seemed a strangely young u18 side today. Either quite a number of 1st and 2nd year scholars overlooked in favour of schoolboys or a lot of injuries.

Saw somewhere that Zelalem played 45 mins the other day vs Brentford but missed photoshoot and Hornchurch friendly for family reasons.

Also read today from Monk’s press conference that they are interested in DaSilva. Local paper added that compensation package is complicated.

Wouldn’t be the worse move for him if Birmingham have a lot of restrictions over transfers (were under an embargo but pursuing loopholes and might be lifted), though, as with Villa, situations can quickly change.

  9. Followed that supporter at u23 game’s tweets today and there was a ffs comment beneath it when we went 3-1 up.

Some sage claimed it was evidence of a change of attitude and he’d heard/knew/thought it was no longer as ‘easy going’ at that level. We won the bloody league last year!

Anyway, would have been funny to see any comments from him by the end of the game.

  11. ah Rich but you must remember that narrative and soundbite is king, a little fact like winning their league last season pales into insignificance when compared to a narrative

  12. Emery comments on Welbeck, ‘Danny has multi-position possibilities – right winger, left winger, striker, yesterday, he worked with us at left back. His performance was good!
Nacho Monreal only returned to full training earlier this week
‘I like this positive spirit to help. I’ve said to him I want the best performance in his career, with better quality and data – more goals, more assists.’

  14. some attention seeking twats trying to gain followers using some video clip of Wilshere saying Wenger was sacked, JW comments went something like

I got back in the team, and in January was offered a new contract, I was about to sign and then we were told Wenger was sacked.

  15. Feels strange heading into tomorrow without a clue who our cb’s will be and with midfield uncertain as well.

Think Mustafi Sokratis most likely, and Xhaka, Torreira, Ramsey midfield, but could easily be completely different.

Tough-looking start to new era but lets hope it goes well.

One of the pics today of ten outfielders * had me thinking it could be the lineup, but no Ozil so I guess not.

*Sokratis, Holding, Maitland-Niles, Lichsteiner, Xhaka, ramsey, Torreira, Mkhi, Nelson, Auba

  16. Rich very much doubt that will be the starting outfield players, can’t see Holding or Nelson in the starting team, and I would expect Ozil to start too

  17. Welbeck being used as a left back in training, fucking wenger always playing players out of position

  18. Fair points Rosicky. Wenger might even return one day in some capacity but can’t see it for a while, personally I just hope he has a good break then finds himself in a role he loves wherever it may be

  19. George, spuds are seen as the ‘plucky underdogs’, who also supplied some key players for the England WC squad, plus there are a few spurs supporters in the media with the platform to push their agenda.

  20. Hopefully Emery will learn to be a bit more circumspect in his conversations with the media, I feel he is being too open. He needs to learn how to talk without actually saying anything.

Yeah, don’t think that’s team. Just a coincidence the ten in the photo made up a team positionally. Nelson/Ozil the clincher.
