Bon Voyage To The Real Mr. Arsenal

Arsene-Wenger1

So here we are , the great man leaves us at the end of this so far disappointing season. It’s very much in the hand of or players how the last act plays out, but ultimately even winning the Europa League will be no more a happy ending to what will forever be remembered as beautiful journey.

For twenty two years we have had the absolute privilege of watching a visionary transform Arsenal before our very eyes. We have seen the best of the best football and witnessed team after team, built and rebuilt, all trying to play the beautiful game in the most beautiful of ways. Of course it’s not always worked. We have had disappointments and calamities along the way, but even then, those teams were sent out to play entertaining and expansive football, that they often failed doesn’t really matter. The point is they tried. WERE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

Twenty two years of press conferences when we could witness the wit, class and brilliance of a man that quite frankly I found to be an inspiration, and I say without shame, a hero.

Arsenal will go on and Positively Arsenal will do what we have always done, support the manager and his staff and the players. If Arsene has taught us anything ,its that the club come first. I for one am going to celebrate that we had the man lead us for twenty two years. I will not be bleating about how unfair the end was, because it matters not . He will be gone and everything he has done for us will help us in the future.

His like will never been seen again, but we saw it, we have it and no one tan take it  away from us. the man is INVINCIBLE.

  3. Maybe , he mentioned being a coach rather than a King, or something along those lines.
Still, I do hope they keep at least some of them.

On another note, the truth that has transpired should embarrass certain figures in the media, though it is difficult to embarrass those with no shame. Wenger was not a shameless dictator hanging on for dear life, he wasn’t a power freak, he wasn’t sacked, he stayed to help a club he felt was not yet ready to move on. By implication, he surely approved of new backroom appointments and was clearly working with them, as opposed to the reports of many.
John Cross, go into a quiet room , hang your head in shame, and don’t come out for a very long time, you are no Gooner. I am sure you would be welcome over at the Spuds, you seem suspiciously fond of them.
what is clear the likes of Cross know absolutely nothing about what goes in at the club, which for a so called Arsenal correspondent/ITK/specialist , surely makes him pretty useless for the Daily Mirror and other outlets that indulge him in this capacity

  5. one thing not seen mentioned over Wenger’s leaving, it just very well lead to some of our players using it to leave AFC too. Players very loyal to Wenger, in fact anyone looking for an excuse to move on without fear of a backlash.

  7. Murphy says ‘ridiculous to even look at it’ following use of VAR to make sure no elbow used. His opinion was based on getting to watch a replay himself.

Talk about misunderstanding the point of it. Or rather, talk about a wanker (who was somehow deemed good choice for diving panel)

  9. Haven’t often supported United or Jose in my life but was pleased to do so this afternoon. Still strangely weepy about Arsene. If any Positivas are at the match tomorrow then perhaps a meet up somewhere before or after?

  10. another wonderful season for the brilliant spurs, their brilliant manager and their world class players and top class team, its odd that on one in the media ever mention that spurs have not won a single trophy in over ten years, last won the fa cup 27 years ago, and most people who can remember the last time they won the league is a pensioner

  11. at the behest of the English media the FA have commissioned a new trophy that will be awarded to spurs, its the 8 FA Cup semi final defeats in a row trophy, media delighted that they can now stop mentioning over & over & over how THFC have not won a trophy in a decade, whats that you say

  12. No idea if it’s true, but a friend of mine down the local Costa coffee met someone walking his dog who’s sons best mate told him that 2/3 long serving and upstanding members would be vacating the board this summer, Josh will takeover running the club, and they are considering Bobby Pires for a place on the board. As I say, No idea if it’s true, but why let the truth ruin a story, our media certainly don’t.

  13. mandy I wrote a bit on here about five or six weeks ago about it, an ex player in the running to get on the board and one more. with ken friar and lord harris possibly stepping down. Even talk Sir Chips might step down.

  15. Yes I remember Ed said that the board will have changes, and an ex-player will be installed. I immediately thought of Pires because he’s been around the club, and has expressed a desire to play a Sporting Director role.

Maybe the other ex-player would be Overmars who was reportedly approached a year or so ago. He’s got that experience with Ajax and his knowledge of the young talent there could be useful.

Two left sided wingers who typified Wengerball despite the contrast in styles. How great would that be!

  16. Is Josh Kroenke going to take over the running of the club? What does this mean? That he’ll be the one calling the shots instead of his dad? Maybe. But he’s also probably still going to be involved in running the Nuggets and the Rapids and the Avalanche. Not sure if it’ll make much difference in operations. Gazidis and Sanhelli are going to be managing that.

  17. there is a desire to make the board younger and more diverse, so possibly a woman and/or black. Here is an out there thought, the ex player could be a former woman’s player.

  18. shard even if Josh becomes Chairman, it would not mean much if any extra time spent on AFC, as you correctly say, Gazidis and Sanllehi are in effect running that side of things.

  19. Pires has been around for a while , as far as I know, pretty loyal and avoiding the renta quote business.
Not sure what Josh as chairman would mean, if recent speculation is in any way true, he may be a bit more hands on than his dad, whatever that means. Don’t think most owners or majority share holders are that conspicuously involved in the day to day running of the club, Spurs owner has retired to somewhere in the Carribean , he leaves it to media God Mr Levy, I believe, think City’s owners rarely if ever attend .
Still, whatever they do and whoever they appoint, they deserve our support, I am sure they will do their utmost to move the club forward from what could be a traumatic loss if not managed properly

  20. It’s taken me some time to process all this. I’m still not even sure what I want to say. Just that it’s hard for me to imagine what Arsenal looks like without Arsène. And I echo Aaron’s thoughts that I’m happy to see him getting the respect that he deserves, and had always deserved. What I want most for him is to enjoy whatever he does next. And if he so chooses, to finally be able to tell off a few ex-player pundits. No, wait…that’s what I want for me. Arsène is still too classy to do that. But it sure would be fun.
