Jack’s Back?

G659FwDC.jpg large

After the first half I was looking forward to writing a glowing report, but after the second half a was less enthusiastic .

In the first half we were completely dominant and were 3-1 up, we could easily have been 5 or 6 up. I thought Jack had scored a beautiful goal that was oddly ruled out for an offside that was nowhere to be seen. There had been some glorious play with Jack pulling the strings in a way that suggests he is not going to be kept away from the first team for long. The lads star looked to have faded, but last night was a reminder why he was seen as a star in the first place.  Wonderful stuff.

The second half was more of an even affair with the home team throwing caution to the wind and displaying that they are a decent side. Despite Theo’s brace in the first half, I felt he was selfish in the second and could have played his mates in on a couple of occasions , for easy chances.

ElNeny was his usual effective self and Giroud ,as ever, put a good shift in. The youngsters were great until they seemed to run out of steam, but that is to be expected.

All in all, a good night and the first eleven basically rested.

We march on.

  1. so Arseblog running a story that KSE have made a bid for R&W 30% shareholding in AFC.
If successful that would mean KSE having 97% which would allow for a compulsory buyout of the other 3% of shares.
I have said it before, it would be exactly what the likes of AST deserve, their lack of respect towards KSE, Gazidis and Wenger, does not deserve the interaction the club affords them.

Odd if any truth in it that Arseblog is the only outlet running the story. They say bid for the 30% was made 2 weeks ago, I thought any such bid by KSE would have had to be made public under stock market rules, but that may be wrong. It might only be bids for the majority of shares that have to be made public.

  2. I see Liam Brady has left all roles with Arsenal, he has now signed up to Platinum One Football Agency, a couple of former Arsenal youth players are main guys with them, Paolo Vernazza, is just finished an FA ban for dodgy dealings with a young player, he tried to sign a contract with a minor despite not being cleared to work with children, with his charge aggravated by the fact that the contract had not been signed by the child’s parent or guardian, another one of Platinum One’s guys was also suspended.
Graham Barrett is with them too.

Platinum One’s head guy is Fintan Drury, he was Chairman of Paddy Power Betfair PLC, and before that he was a Journo for RTE.

  3. Runs a sports agency
Used to work and has contacts in the (legitimate) betting industry
    Broadcasting connections

Yep. He ticks all the right, or wrong, boxes. Sounds like a winner!

Tangential thought for the day: the two national teams most obviously under the thumb of agents, England and Brazil have suffered serious humiliation of late. As in serious, serious. None of us will ever forget the legends McLaren’s plunditting as Iceland scored their second. They teams are, what’s the the word the PR Expert/blagging entrepreneur used again for their next cunning and unpredictable internet meme, these teams are a complete and utter shambles. And I’ve not even mentioned the women’s team yet (to be fair Brazil’s is scandal free to the best of my limited knowledge).

“Shambles” or a double strength shandy, can any of these highly prized blaggers out there tell the difference between the two?

  4. Team News – Ozil out, Koscielny a doubt, Iwobi might be back, Kolasinac had injury but should be ok

    on team news…
Mesut Ozil will not be available for Sunday.

on how long Mesut is out for…
Very short-term. He is not far, but he is not enough for Sunday.

    on Alex Iwobi…
Alex Iwobi might be available for Sunday, of course Coquelin and Welbeck are not available.

    on Laurent Koscielny…
We have a doubt about Laurent Koscielny unfortunately and he will have a test tomorrow. It’s an achilles problem, it’s ongoing. I think everybody else should be available. Sead Kolasinac had some problems, but he is available. That’s basically it.

  5. Kroenke sole owner..if that’s true, and looking at the success or lack of it of his other clubs, not sure I really like the sound of that, especially should he use a LBO as some are speculating.
But we shall see , might be nothing more than a load of bollox

  6. Sunday is Arsenal for Everyone day, and of course some of the ASB have decided to stage a protest, a walk out. Of course what else would we expect from those that had a protest on Rocky Rocastle day.

  7. Ozil out injured with an inflamed knee, and of course the ASB have not missed a trick, they are putting out the rumor that he is refusing to play for Arsenal.
Must be refusing to play for Germany too as they have left him out of their squad for the WC qualifiers due to the same injury.
