Rosicky’s shirt in the Borussia Dortmund Museum
A record attendance yesterday evening at the new Brighton and Hove Albion Stadium to see them play The Arsenal play for the second time in the cup in the last few years. I guess the Brighton fans enjoyed the football last time out. Not forgetting the Arsenal support:
“You’ve only come to see The Arsenal”
Like Steww I had a feeling last season was a special year. Nothing to do with the Cup games, more so the controlled Ozil inspired surge to the top of the table. Coincidentally or perhaps magically it was during the home league game against Hull when Nicholas Bendtner scored after sixty-odd seconds following Jenkinson’s early run and cross. If Bendy scores after the first minute upon what might have been his first start in the league after trying to leave the club I concluded for myself that it would be a good season for The Arsenal.
Bendtner didn’t quite follow through; circumstances meant he was relegated behind Sanogo when the new player regained or gained fitness. In my ignorant and speculative opinion the squad model since 07/08 has always been to have two Big Lumps up top to juggle with the speedsters. Amidst some confusion Bendtner’s season ended early late one night with him humping a hubcap during a break back home. Fortunately The Arsenal kept their focus and came through in the end.
Brighton. A big difference for me going to an away game outside of London. Usually, what with AFC being a “local club for local people” according to the not so great and good I trundle along the hard yards to Home games.
First starts for Özil and Walcott, a second start for Ramsey upon their returns. As expected the BFG was given a well earned rest, and neither Ozil or Walcott had he legs to last ninety minutes as the Seagulls found some late hope and energy.
I have a good feeling about this season too. Why? Well Arsenal football club signed my favourite non-Arsenal footballer, Alexis Sanchez.
Following on from the Ozil and Cazorla signings. The rehabilitation of Master Rosicky. The recovery from major injuries of Ramsey and Wilshere (just about regaining his best fitness and form, that acceleration, before he was hacked off the park, again. Not even a foul called…). Chambers coming in to complete his apprenticeship under the Big German (Wilshere is for me Rozza’s apprentice), some new signing to help alleviate Koscielny’s workload. It’s a fair guess that having managed Rosicky’s fitness for the final run of fixtures in recent seasons no staff knows more about tricksy tendons in football then those at the Arsenal? I might be over optimistic but I couldn’t groan about those who signed Koscielny in the first place wanting to make sure they found the correct player to cover. We could again see against Brighton the logic in wanting to give Monreal more minutes during the season, to help him to develop and also because like many footballers he appears to play better when not coming in to the team cold.
Apparently he did the look away trick at the club canteen to steal the last pizza slice and received a two footer from shawcross.

very clear that Costa has immunity as far as all refs are concerned, he can do what every cuntery he wants and he won’t be sent off, and the FA will not look at it and ban him later either. The whole thing is corrupt

it seems Arsenal will not announce the signing of Gabriel till all details of his move are complete, the player passed his medical and signed his contract yesterday, but flew to France today to complete the work permit process, Ospina had to do the same in the summer. Arsenal hope it will all be done in time for him to be included in the squad for the Aston Villa game on Sunday.

if the fa do not punish costa retrospectively after the glaring video evidence, then there is no point setting up that kangaroo panel except its meant for arsenal players alone. the guy is the worst of its breed. two stamps on the ankle of two fellow professionals in one game? he has to face the music.

Interesting morning for Michael Oliver and the lads at the FA in respect of Costa. Jose’s hysterical defence of his player last night suggests he expects a ban to be on the table.
Not really settled in English football has Diego – the starey hardman pose doesn’t impress anyone, and the attempted sly digs, stamps and dives are picked up by 23 cameras week in, week out.
My save Jose a bit of grief if he just explained that to the chump.

I’d always thought that the specialist in signing players from the special agent had signed the Mendes player because he was a specialist in the Bargie bit of Argie-Bargie S.American football*? Certainly there’s an understanding that the Sweet FA would be reluctant to charge a client of one of their favoured buisness partners.

so the BBC have bottled the handling of Phil Neville’s disgraceful comments about two footing Rosicky, they should have sacked his stone age arse
– BBC STATEMENT
This comment was not meant to offend in any way, but on reflection, Phil acknowledges that the language he used was unfortunate.
That said, Mark Chapman did immediately challenge him and the tone of the discussion was light-hearted enough to suggest that the panel were not condoning any kind of violence or setting an example to a younger audience.
BBC Sport will, however, remind the team to take extra care during discussions during our live programmes.

we must remember phil neville has spent his proffessional carreer being told by managers to deliberatly foul the opposition. having, from a sports point of view, followed
his brother in football when his talent was actually in cricket. he went from a talent in one sport to a clogger in another always in his brothers shadow. attacking legs being his priority mean he would not say anything else

four match ban and/or four weeks wages. thats how to be fair to all. if a manager earns in millions while another is in thousands, you fine the one on millions 25k while the one on thousands 10k. how is that fair?

Very excited about our new Brazilian Gabriel. He should bed in rather nicely with our attacking style. The Yellow Submarine are no mugs when it comes to playing football. I remember Greedybayor’s volley against them like it was yesterday. Poor Adebayor what a waste of a career. He could of been one of the greats but the spectre of the filthy lucre poisoned him as it has done to many throughout time.
While we are on the topic of filthy lucre…What a pathetic display from Costa and Mourinho. Chelsea are a stain on the game and need to be punished for their juvenile antics
