While lofty butt cheeks is getting all the press for making the squad for chelski in a game of no consequence our plethora of youngsters was taking on the turkish champions and giving them a good thanksgiving to be honest.
Bulat the turkish keeper started with a full head of hair and was clean shaven however after several Poldolski rockets, including one that broke the back of the net in the opening minutes, he was bald with the hair ending up round his chin giving him the appearance of a beard. Of course the ever increasing lunacy of Paul merson suggesting the keeper should of saved it even though it was measured at 473 MPH.
The youthful team had Bellerin starting at left back and Chambers in the middle and further infused with the young Sanogo, Campbell and the Ox. With the more experienced heads helping them along the gunners went further ahead through Aarons left foot after a clumsy Poldolski challenge wasn’t punished and the Ox carried the ball from the centre circle to the edge of the box before feeding Aaron. Although we didn’t know Aaron was only warming his weak foot up as from a Campbell corner after the ball was headed away from the area he scored a world class goal that even our biggest critics are creaming over.
We had other chances but at half time it was 3-0 and after the break both teams reappeared having made two changes. Aaron and Flamini both being taken off as a precaution after both complaining of minor knocks. Maitland -Niles and Zelalem coming on and performing well although galatasaray started to come back in it and in the end had about 30 attempts although I can’t remember Sczceney having much to do and he was only beaten after an excellent Sneider free kick that sailed past him. Not to be outdone the ever youthful Lukas P. decided to dance around a few defenders play a one two with Yaya and finish with his weak foot just to match Aaron. The second half also saw the introduction of Stephan O’Conner for his debut after the returning Debuchy ran out of puff in an impressive display.
So 4-1 away from home in the ultra-competition qualifying for the knock out stages for the 103rd straight year that’s not bad thanks for the new memories Arsene because according to Bredon and Mancheni (and the wob brigades GG who failed against benfica) it’s not that easy. Yeah there were better results we could of hoped for to put us top but once again all the teams finishing top of their respective groups will not want to play us.
P.S. There may have been a few exaggerations in this post however I tend to do that when, in the words of the great JB, I feel good !!!

A fine afternoon – too strong for them – sound performances all round – impressed with Bellerin – if the boy learns that sometimes you despatch the ball to row 27 it would do him no harm.

John Richardson of the Sunday Express says Financial Fair Play is useless because it will stop future Man Cities, Chelseas and PSGs from emerging. Put another way it will stop gangsters and despots using stolen money to be laundered through an asset in the west, and we can’t have that surely!

I assume that Claude the clown of ArsenalFanTv must never actually watch his interviews with AFTV, seeing as his latest gem is to tell Gooners not to over react to the result yesterday and midweek, the king of over reaction telling others not to over react, maybe he means only the cult of Wenger out are allowed to over react, at best Claude is a fool and at worst he is a hypocrite. He actually has had the effect of making the want to be pirate, Bully, seem sensible and that takes some doing.

Managed to see the highlights on MOTD last night. Had to sit through the Chavs game first, which was somewhat relieved by the irony of Maureen saying that there was too much diving in the English game when two of his players had just got yellows for exactly that and a third was very lucky to get away with it. Got to admire the man – how he could say that without cracking up was remarkable.
Very boring show generally – a nonentity as host and two nonentity “experts”. But I’m happy that Murphy chose to highlight Bellerin’s contribution. Can’t help thinking he’s wasted at full-back though. He’s small, fast and tricky – archetypal Wenger midfielder, I would have thought. Danny was robbed of a perfectly fine goal, Ollie scored two impressive ones, but the highlight for me was Santi’s – how he got it in from that angle, considering he had just come out of a stumble, is fantastic. And yes, Tioté should have seen red, but can’t blame the ref – he couldn’t have seen it from that angle – and besides, then the win could have been devalued by the media as “only” a win over 10 men, so I’m glad he stayed on. Maybe the PL will take a retrospective look at the kick, since it got so much play on TV, but I won’t hold my breath.
Onward and upward with Wenger.

Bellerin’s naivety is a minor problem and he will learn quickly. I thought he was excellent. Also, I am now convinced that Debuchy is a straight replacement for Sagna. Our defence is a pretty good stop-gap defence for the next few weeks. I look forward to the coming games. I hope Özil and Walcott are imminent….this is how I felt when my dad would give me a ‘tanner’ and I would saunter around to “Sid’s” sweet shop and fill a bag with such a variety of sweets. Do you remember Sid’s, it was in the Parade opposite Ashford Avenue?

great to hear the one Arsene Wenger sang in the stadium before and after the final whistle pouring a large bag of salt into the gaping wounds of the wobs, apparently there was a small amount of booing when this was sung although i was lower tier and i never heard it. i said on here yesterday that no other team could cope with 13 players out the way we do and despite A5 insistence we would win i was a bit nervous. i told my mates in the pub i expected the winner in the last ten minutes well i neednt of worried as we played really well even taking into account newcastle meekness in the capital.
Bellerin had a really good game and personally i love seeing the youngsters come through so thats one reason to be thankful we didnt sign another utility defender.

a_or_b, I didn’t hear any booing either, but I was in the posh seats yesterday and to be honest, I was one of very few singing anything at all!

I don’t GP – in the days when I frequented sweetshops we lived on Ferme Park Road and it was a stroll down to the shops at the bottom of the hill for me.
There was a bit of booing (perhaps not booing more like a long low groan) during the One Arsene Wenger but it sounded to me that it came from the Toon fans to my right rather than from around me. There was no argey bargey in the ground or outside the pub before hand. My impression was, based on an afternoon of eavesdropping, a lot of fans are fed up to the back teeth with the civil war.
