This is the sentencing report I would have presented to FIFA.
Pre-sentence report
Defendant: Luis Alberto Diaz Suarez -D.O.B. 24/01/1987.
This report has been prepared following one interview with the defendant. I’ve had access to antecedents and previous convictions, plus video and photographic evidence.
The Offence:
1. Mr Saurez explained at interview that the situation had been extremely tense and stressful. He told me that he had suffered quite a lot of physical contact during the game and was severely ‘wound up’. He remembers moving towards the victim with the intention of scoring a goal and was adament that he had no intention of causing injury or harm. The non-football media here is having a field day with Luis Suarez’s excuse for biting Chiellini. As a person who had to wait many years for football to be legitimate enough to be carried on our local sports channel, all I can say is fuck Luis Suarez. Fuck you for allowing these dumb pricks to make fun of our sport and jeopardizing its legitimacy, you buck toothed, racist mother fucker.

Only just seen highlights of the Colombia vs Uruguay game and Rodriguez’s goals. If anything, they seem a more talented group than the much fancied (by me!) Chile and should cause Brasil a lot of problems and an upset.

the referee will be embarassed when he sees the replay. robben does this always. i mean every game, yet he’s not crucified as suares. if a player can cheat like this in a world cup, he deserved to be made a scape goat just like suares.

why the sudden change of rule? why allow teams to have a break in between half to rest and refresh. this is world cup. do we stop half way in a game played in a cold night in russia so that teams from africa or south america can be served hot coffee? teams should be allowed to take advantage of weather that favour them.

Not sure how old the rule is, its certainly the first time I have seen it used. Maybe it’s been introduced on the back of Qatar being “selected”?
Then again, I am sure it could also be at the behest of commercial TV companies to chuck in extra advertisements.

dex, i’m not sure the rule is in black and white. it was just introduced to allow teams who find the temprature unbearable to refresh. if you ask mexico they will clearly reject the break just as a team from europe will reject a coffee break in a cold weather in a game against african or south american side.
the only thing fifa can do to stamp out diving is to send any player who dives with the intent of getting a penalty off. a penalty is as good as a goal. so straight red is what should apply. or instead of awarding a penalty to the divers team, the penalty shoukd be awarded to the opposing team. rules like that is in basket ball. where you move from one end of the court to the other to take free throw. you can imagine robben admiting to diving publicly. of course he wont admit to diving to the one he got the decision.

Re- posting as I realised my comment was on the wrong thread!
Just on my way home from the pub following a couple of birthday libations, and can I say what a dirty, diving cheat the aptly named robben is. I hope karma is paying attention and has suitable payback waiting for him and his orange mates.
Costa Rica are not playing with the same freedom they did in the group games. I fear a win for another team who got to the knockout rounds thanks to an equally suspect penalty.

this hasnt been a good world cup for defenders. so many dying minutes goals. at the times you expect defenders to save their teams they have failed. we may have a record goals scored in any world cup in this tournament.

You are too harsh, the poor lad was knackered and knobbled by multiple unpunished fouls, all,he could do at the end was act as a hold up target man.
He gave a brilliant audition performance again for the part as Oliver Giroud’s understudy. Campbell seems a bit more developed as a footballer for his age than Sanogo, all those loans have really made a man of him at 22.
I like what I see.
Hopefully Arsène will be looking more for an attacking winger or two to get the best out of the roster of strikers we already have. A fresher set of legs to help out in Arteta’s position would be useful too.

Passeral, dis liable as Robben is, and he certainly is – there was just enough contact by the Mexican defender to encourage Robben to swan dive and the referee just gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Great to see Huntelaar on for JvC, and scoring – they are not the best of pals.

It is fashionable for us Arsenal fans to dump on Roebben but frankly Rafa Marquez must take the blame for Mexico’s loss. If it was an Arsenal defender sticking a foot out with the diver trapped on the by line with nowhere to go, and thus putting the ref in a position to award a penalty, there would be a full blooded lynching. Two years ago Eboue pushed a Liverpool defender from behind in the box to give them a penalty and that was pretty much the end of his Arsenal career. Just saying.

On the strength of last night Campbell needs the ball to feet so I can’t see him as lone striker a la Giroud, although as DC says, he had a prime Arsenal trial run if playing for us means being kicked to pieces for 90 minutes. I can see him playing in a 442 or out wide, and he’s certainly got more than a bit about him.

when a team like costa rica is blessed with a dangerous player like campbell, all they need to do is get the ball to him as many times as possible. when they play a team like greece, who parades average defenders, the more times they employ the skills of campbell the better.

when a referee is determined to award a penalty against you there is little you can do. robben is a serial diver. the worst of its kind. but when a referee who is determined to keep one of the big names in world football in the tournament which almost every super power is crashing out, whatever little opportunity is capitalised upon. do you truly think any referee would have awarded such a soft penalty against brazil, france, argentina, england, italy or even holand at the point in a the game? i dont think so.

if i am a referee, unless robben’s or suares’ leg is broken, i will never call a pen in their favour. they’ve taken more than their fair share of penalty decisions already. can you imagine robben publicly admitting to cheating and yet got no caution all through the match. STAMP OUT DIVING.
