Arsenal Make A Point.

Another disappointing night.

There were of course some positives. The defence and Mikel looked very solid.

Rosicky was the best player on the field.

Ok, now I’m struggling.

Chelsea set up to stifle us and nick a goal. We knew that was what they would do and it was up to us to produce an answer. We didn’t.

We should have had a penalty when Theo was taken down in the box with Mike Dean 5 yards away with an unobstructed view. It was a shocking decision. The incident should not have taken place however, because the game should have been stopped while John Obi Mikel was sent off for a horror tackle on Mikel Arteta. He never even got a yellow, another shocking decision.

Giroud had two good chances to score in the final 5 minutes but failed to convert. Neither were easy, but that was our chance to win.

Anyway, a point leaves us on level points with Liverpool and second only on goal difference. This time last year, we were 4th and 13 points away from league leaders Man United. That’s a hell of a step forward, and I predict if we win our next 2 games at West Ham and Newcastle, we’ll be leaders at the halfway point.

Its a great position to be in with Podolski ,Santi and Theo all fit and fresh, thats a lot of goals and assists to come back in.

Lets see if Santa brings us a player in January.

We would have taken this position all day back in August.

Up the Arse.

  2. “My waking dread, however, is for AFC to need a win or draw to win the league and for Dean to be appointed ref for that last game”.

Mine too! A non-Arsenal supporting friend who had only seen parts of the match was also parroting what the sly pundit had said about the referee to me. In fact it was the complete opposite – if he had such a good match why did the game nearly boil over when the Arsenal players had got sick to death of the constant fouling with no consequences to the team in blue?

  3. i have said it before and I still believe that these refs and the English attitude towards them and “getting stuck in” is one of the major factors holding back the national game. how will any of the home nations ever succeed when they think persistent fowling is a skill set and a plus point of the game.
Anyway back to us more importantly, I hope we play with more freedom today and really enjoy ourselves. we wont know until the end of the season how important the points against everton and chelski are so far from being a disappointing night it might just be the point that takes us over the line come the end of may.
It would be nice to see oli score to get the the grey fans of his back and obviously Aaron on his birthday, actually we win and i’ll be chuffed whoever scores.

Good three points today; fingers crossed for a draw in the late kick off …

  7. I had the pleasure of listening to Stewart Robson on my feed. According to him, we struggle with Arteta in the middle, Santi out wide makes us vulnerable on the left and Wenger is a moaner because he complains about time wasting. There was one other outrageous comment he made, but it was right before Theo’s first goal and I can’t remember what he said.

Theo and Poldi in the side gives us about twenty goals and twenty assists. That we are top of the league without those two should put the argument about our depth to rest.

It sucks that Ramsey tore his quadricep. He’s been our best player thus fate this season.

Chelski barely beat Swansea with a much more creative midfield. Fucking rubbish team with a rubbish manager.

We are top of the league, we are to of the league.

The Totts. Of the Totts. Dropping points at home against a West Brom which has been awful for the past two months. Hahahahahahahahaha.

  8. away from home 1-0 down your top scorer just gone off, on a small pitch with a hostile atmosphere and come away with a 1-3 victory what a team, the russian dream chaser will be punching his bus driver in the face just to stop the boredom on the bridge.
for all those AFC fans who kick Giroud more in the back the clumsy PL defenders, watch the third goal and see what he brings to the side absolute classic centre forward play and against two defenders as well.
We did seem to give the bubblies more chances than usual but I think we will be flying again soon as the early goals will flow once more.
the perfect boxing day present and I can go round my mates house ( who’s a spud ) with the family and smile contently as I eat his food.

  23. Passenal – Ref at Newcastle on Sunday is Lee Probert. Untold reviews do not rate him very highly. Negative bias vs Arsenal. Often gets the big decisions wrong.

  25. Lee Probert was the 4th official @ Old Toilet when Arsene was sent to the stands for making him cry. Bloody wimp of a ref.

Still as we always get stitched up by officials (see Villa Citeh & Chavs games to name just 3 this season) it’s nothing new.

  27. Evening, folks. What a game, and how great was it to have Poldi back today!? My enthusiasm is tempered by Aaron’s injury though. Bless him, and on his birthday, too. But he’ll be back, and hopefully it won’t be too long. About to watch NBC’s version of MOTD – I muted Robson and co. during the game, so I’ll probably just get angry now.

  30. I love the newsnow headlines about Theo ‘sparing Arsenal’s blushes’! Surely his job as one of Arsenal’s key goal getters is to score goals to win matches for us? I’m just glad to see him in such blistering goal-scoring form so he can carry his share of the load for a while to allow others who’ve been there to date to re-group and re-find their goal-scoring form. Isn’t that the point of a squad? Different players step up to the plate at different times in a long, hard season?

  34. Theo missed about a third of last season and still ended up top goalscorer. Oh yes. Mind you, he’s pregnant, innit? At least he has other teammates who’ve had babies recently.

I loved the way Arsenal looked so utterly pissed off after they conceded, and just attacked the Fk out of WH. When Poldi came on he was so Fk you, I’m here an’ I’m gonna do it, and he did.

Having started by hearing Srobson, I switched to some unknown-to-me feed and was able to enjoy the game and make my own mind up about what was going on. When Giroud missed the away fans struck up his song. Phat Phil seemed ok with his refine in the first half. Early doors I thought I saw tackles by our players that would’ve been called fouls by many other refs. This really changed in the second half, inevitably, a
and it all went back to “normality”.

    Sorry, AR16.

I thought for sure he would show gutter class in sending out his players to continue where Maureenwhore and his Chaves left of on Monday. I didn’t witness any dangerous and reckless tackles( assaults). He show ten times the class Jose and his high payed mercenaries showed on the field. Credit where its due. Congratulations to the gang and AW on a hard fought win. On to the next obstacles. We got us a bunch of birds to roundup.

Its interesting to note that shitty didn’t resort to rough tactics to dispatch pool, as they did against us. At least not to the same degree.

Aaron was running a bit on low, so perhaps this is anyway the right time to rest. We will need all his energy in the tail of the season.
