Enjoying Arsenal

Supporting Arsenal is fun at the moment for all concerned. Well almost all. Those who are desperate to see the back of the manager, board, medical staff, goalkeeping coach, and Doris the tea lady excepted of course, are having a miserable time. But lets waste no time on those scoundrels.

There looks to have been a measurable improvement in our play.

Results , for the last 6 months have been nothing short of staggering, despite an injury list as long as the Great Wall of China.

We have bought in one of the worlds finest players and an old boy has returned and been a revelation.

Aaron Ramsay, a player written of by many as “not Arsenal quality” has been the stand out player in the league for was seems like a age now.

It looks like a contract extension for Arsene is no more than a formality.

Its wonderful being an Arsenal fan today. Isn’t it?

Remember this feeling when things go wrong. Because they will you know?

I cant understand why people cant always try to make the best of being a fan.

It must be better to take joy from the club, rather than wallowing in misery and self pity.

It was hard going for the team and fans alike for the past 2 seasons, Yet I loved them.

Watching the lads turn things around, fighting for every point under the most intense pressure, and securing Champions League qualification was terrific

Tomas Rosicky riding into the fray and making the difference, again a player written of as not Arsenal quality ,or deadwood, was a source of great joy to me.

I didn’t want to blame someone, anyone, everyone, for us being in that position, I just wanted to enjoy our efforts to put matters right.

After last years home defeat by the pride of German football I wrote this http://wp.me/p37nXa-4K , have a read and you can see that being optimistic is not always being blind.

Here is the blog I wrote after the Spurs defeat with 10 games left, have a look. http://wp.me/p37nXa-8b

See what I mean?

We should look forward with hope. support 100% and enjoy every moment.

Every point, every good bit of play , every bit of pleasure should be squeezed out of every game. Even the losses.

I hope fans can learn from their mistakes in the same way we want the team to learn from theirs.

  3. Isn’t it that November has traditionally been the “challenging” month for Arsenal, well for 7 years or so as far as I recall. I wonder if we break with tradition this season; I don’t see why not. Some traditions are nonsense aren’t they?

  4. Gosh I’m drooling a little at the idea of Santi (leftish) and Mesut (centrish), speedy Theo to the right, Giroud looking for the gaps ominously, whenever that happens, and behind them Aaron and Arteta. But perhaps Flamini for balance. How on earth will the manager choose his opening gambit when Jack and Tomas are also back?

  6. The Team coming together very nicely as the walking wounded return to the squad… Glad AW does not panic and buy for the sake of buying like some fans!

  7. One guy I don’t doubt is Santi. Something about him is tough. He can be knackered, off form, kicked about and under the weather, and he will orchestrate one move that leads to a breakthrough. Actually for me he’s not so much the amazing individual trickster as the team player who thinks, and makes the sensible and beautifully weighted pass, and then follows through. And he enjoys playing at Arsenal. He’s become an Arsenal player through and through. I know Ozil is kind of media man of the moment, but the genius of Arsenal is better illustrated in the recruitment of Santi, when no one expected it, or even knew much about him in England, and the nurturing and rise and rise of Aaron, after many betted against him. Mind you, there’s also Per and Gibbs. Arteta and Jack.

  8. As far as real life players that personify Arsenal spirit and skill go, none in my book are above Tomas, and not many in previous years either. When RvP left, I asked myself what the fuss is, the real guy you want to celebrate is Tomas and he still plays for us. In my book he’s joined the legends.

  9. Hey Team Spirit. No poster on this site is “better” or anything like that. We are a team of supporters, like Arsenal is a team. I do “me” best, you do “you” best, we all do PosA together best. That’s the magic.

Was pulling Shottas legs, i wasn’t really sad or anything like that… but one fact remains.. ZP = Ozil of posters!

  22. Good game tonight, I’m only disappointed with the result because it was hard to lose at the moment when we had the upper hand. But these things happen and it was good to hear people singing and chanting on the way home despite the outcome. Perhaps the home crowd are finally starting to mature!
